This weekend Plastica, the little store devoted to housewares, gifts and kid’s stuff from around the world, will offer up to 50% off on store merchandise that includes birdhouses (now $67.50), 1968 vintage pillows ($10), stainless steel coasters ($6.25 for a set of four) and plastic rugs ($165 for a 27-by-59-inch runner). But the big blowout item will be the store’s large inventory of biodegradable, natural bamboo cellulose pots (3 1/2-, 5- and 6-inch diameters in teal, mustard, orange, white, olive, blue and burgundy) for a dollar each. Come and get ‘em while they last. The sale runs Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 2 from noon to 5p.m and is part of the West 3rd Street stores -- Fairfax Avenue to La Cienega Boulevard -- weekend celebration. ‘Cold drinks and fun will also be served up,’ says owner Carla Denker. www.plasticashop.com
