Hollywood Hybrid: Marmol Radziner Prefab's latest

MarmolRadziner

Marmol Radziner Prefab's latest project, dubbed the Hollywood Hybrid, is scheduled for installation June 30 on a lot near Runyon Canyon in L.A. Factory-built modules complete with cabinetry, flooring and other finishes will be craned into place atop a two-bedroom basement constructed on-site. When all is said and done, the client, Yoshi Wada, will have three bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms in 2,600 square feet of living space. Cost: $725,000 for module fabrication, delivery and setting; $140,000 for design fees; and $50,000 for engineering, according to the architects. The cost of the land, site construction (foundation, utilities, plumbing) and permits were not disclosed. Additional renderings after the jump.

The Hollywood Hybrid promises many of the benefits of modern prefab design, including reduced waste in construction and the recycling of excess materials. This design uses structural insulated panels, or SIPs, for better insulated walls, floors and roof. For more details, check out the Marmol Radziner Prefab website.
