Mark Ruffalo leads Marvel‘s latest green movement by taking on the role of Bruce Banner and the Hulk for ‘The Avengers.’

Backstage, before making his public debut in the role, Ruffalo seemed dazed and enthused. ‘It’s like ‘Hamlet’ or ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ a new actor gets a crack at it every year,’ Ruffalo said with a chuckle. ‘But really it’s all heady stuff. It’s exciting to be here. It’s great to be a part of all this.’

Look for more coverage from the Marvel panel and Hall H later tonight.
