COMIC-CON 2010: JULY 24-29

Sex, drugs and murder? Sounds about right. David Duchovny of Californication,’ Mary-Louise Parker of Weeds and Michael C. Hall of Dexter will explore the dark side with an antihero panel at Comic-Con International 2010. The panel also features creators from those three shows and ‘Nurse Jackie.’

Showtime just announced the panel, which will be in Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 22. That’s the first day of the massive pop-culture expo that takes over San Diego and now features an annual parade of film and television stars that (for better or worse) have taken the event well beyond comic books in its focus.

I’m excited to say that I’m the journalist who will be moderating this ‘Anti-Heroes of Showtime’ panel, so check back here for exclusive backstage coverage. The other members of the panel: ‘Dexter’ show runner Chip Johannessen; ‘Californication’ executive producer and creator Tom Kapinos;’Weeds’ executive producer and creator Jenji Kohan; and ‘Nurse Jackie’ executive producer, writer and co-creator Linda Wallem.

At 6 p.m., in the same room, ‘Dexter’ will have its own dedicated panel featuring Hall and costars Jennifer Carpenter (Deb) and Desmond Harrington (Quinn) as well as executive producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Manny Coto and Johannessen.
