FLASHBACK PHOTO: Sigourney Weaver and Ridley Scott on the set of ‘Alien’

Here’s a rare pair of photos from the set of “Alien,” the 1979 deep-space horror classic that changed the look and approach of an entire genre. In the photo above, it’s Sigourney Weaver, the towering actress who came to fame in the film, and director Ridley Scott, who would go on to direct films such as “Blade Runner,” “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down.” Scott, also shown below, was a guest on the closing night of the recent 2010 Hero Complex Film Festival, and he talked quite a bit about his plan to make an “Alien” prequel (or even two of them) and the breakthrough work by Weaver in the original.
