There’s a burgeoning cottage industry in animated ‘Star Wars’ parodies these days, and George Lucas, not wanting to be left behind, is hopping on the bandwagon.

Lucasfilm Animation is developing an animated series to look at the lighter side of Ewoks, Storm Troopers and Gungans and it has enlisted the aid of ‘Robot Chicken’ creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, as well as ‘Daily Show’ writer Brendan Hay.

In the press release, Green says ‘The ‘Star Wars’ universe is so dense and rich; it’s crazy to think that there aren’t normal, mundane everyday problems in a world so well-defined.’ He goes on to say ‘What do these characters do when they’re not overthrowing Empires?’

There’s still no word on when or where this series will be seen.

Does this mean we’ll get treated to story lines involving Darth Vader’s backed-up toilet? Or Admiral Ackbar and wife fussing over a dinner party for Mon Mothma? And can Lucasfilm’s efforts possibly top the never-ending stream of clips and parodies already flooding the Internet? Only time will tell.
