Wow, what an opening weekend for ‘Avatar.’ The movie pulled in an estimated $232.2 million worldwide and, more than that, with glowing reviews from elite film critics, I’m betting the movie will have a relatively small drop-off in its second week.

Here at the Hero Complex we brought you a month-long countdown to the film with the most in-depth and (hopefully) insightful coverage that could be found anywhere. On Friday night, that extended visit to Pandora reached its climax with a truly special event: I was lucky enough to host the Envelope screening of ‘Avatar’ in Hollywood and then, onstage, interview some of the key players from the film: director James Cameron, producer Jon Landau and two of their stars in the film, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver.

Here’s video of my opening questions to the panel.

We’ll be posting more video from the night over the next few days. I don’t mind stretching it out a bit. I get the feeling that ‘Avatar’ isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
