The Emmy-nominated ‘Family Guy’ and the abortion episode you won’t see

Following a rollicking ‘Chuck’ panel that included the actors singing and dancing and pondering the possibility of having action figures, the Emmy-nominated ‘Family Guy’ panel took the stage.
Creator/voice wizard Seth MacFarlane led a panel that included actors Mila Kunis, Seth Green and Alex Borstein, who, after receiving an ‘I love you’ from some in the crowd said ‘I’ll love you when you shut the hell up!’
In their introductions, a few plotlines were announced for the coming season. Brian, driving while drunk, hits a(nother) dog. Peter has an affair with a cardboard cutout of Kathy Ireland. Meg goes to prison and comes back a bit tougher. The crew’s dark humor on display, Borstein belts out, ‘A little bit raped?’ Kunis counters by saying it’s OK because ‘she liked it.’
Even darker still was the revelation by MacFarlane that the group had produced an abortion episode that was a little too edgy for Fox. It will be released in the upcoming season’s DVD compilation.
An extended clip from the upcoming season’s ‘Empire Strikes Back’ episode was screened, starting off with a scathing Star Warsian scroll ripping George Lucas, 20th Century Fox, etc. for their marketing dominance. Then the intro text: ‘A long time ago, when the gays weren’t all in your face about it ...’
It continued from there with jokes filled with sexual innuendos and digs at ‘Star Trek’ and women. But that’s ‘Family Guy,’ and the crowd loved it.
The Q&A session was a bit lackluster, with the first two questions admonished by MacFarlane.
‘This isn’t an audition,’ said MacFarlane. ‘Is anybody here NOT stoned?’
Others followed that included ‘What are you favorite musicals?’ (MacFarlane: ‘The Sound of Music,’ ‘My Fair Lady,’ ‘and ‘The Little Shop of Horrors’); ‘How did you come up with the name ‘Family Guy’?’ (MacFarlane: ‘I was looking for something easy that could roll off the tongue.’ Borstein: ‘And ‘According to Jim’ was taken.’); and a question about whether the cast gets along.
As MacFarlane answered it, Borstein and Green embraced, then kissed, then moved under the table. Kunis joined them, and seconds later, Green came up for air and to grab a bottle of water. Then he went back under the table.
