No longer with Sony Records, Tori Amos is really spreading her wings with a fascinating new project called ‘Comic Book Tattoo,’ in which she has allowed a variety of comic book artists to interpret songs from her entire catalog.

In this video interview with Amos, Comic Book Resource caught the veteran musician right before her release signing at Amoeba Records in Hollywood, a few days before Comic-Con. Amos talks about how the comic book was developed, how she first got interested in comics, and how often she dines with Neil Gaiman, among other very pleasant topics. She also explains that the men and women who created ‘Comic Book Tattoo’ weren’t doing cover versions of her songs, but were making ‘variations of a theme.’

On Sunday, ‘Comic Book Tattoo’ had another book release and signing session at Golden Apple where many of the contributors were in the house to meet the fans and autograph their copies of the comic.

Not only does ‘Comic Book Tattoo’ have a huge star behind its inception, inspiration and development, but it also has a pretty nice blog that has been following its rollout. You can find it here on the Comic Book Resource.
