Genesis solar project in Riverside County gets federal approval

Call it the season of solar: Yet another sprawling desert project has been approved.

On Thursday, it was the Genesis Solar Energy Project’s turn. With the go-ahead from both the federal Bureau of Land Management and the California Energy Commission, the 250-megawatt installation in Riverside County can now break ground.
