On Our Blogs: Traffic and whales
L.A. TRAFFIC TOPS NATION: Been stuck in traffic lately? A recent study shows that Los Angeles is the most congested city in America. JAPAN MAY CUT WHALE QUOTA: Australia's Daily Telegraph quotes a Japanese newspaper stating Japan may reduce its original whaling quota of about 1,000 by several hundred.
A WHALE'S WORLD: Whale enthusiasts who want to learn more about the blue whale should tune in to the National Geographic Channel at 8 p.m. Sunday for "Kingdom of the Blue Whale." The feature follows a team of scientists as they observe the behavior of the animal in its natural habitat and as they journey to locate its breeding grounds. Also included is first-ever underwater footage of a newborn blue whale. For more information and a clip of the program, check out Pete Thomas' post.
