As Pete Thomas notes in the Outposts blog, some trout stocking in California will be temporarily curbed under terms of an agreement in an ongoing lawsuit by environmental groups. The concern is that hatchery-raised trout compete with sensitive native fish and amphibian species such as the mountain yellow-legged frog and California golden trout.
