Latest downtown L.A. condo pitch: We're green

By the usual green standard -- money -- the timing isn't ideal for a new condominium building to hit the market in downtown Los Angeles. But developers behind the new 24-story Evo tower opening this month say they're pitching the pads' green credentials, as our Home section explains in a sneak preview today.

Evo is set to achieve a silver rating from the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, or LEED.

Los Angeles has been pushing LEED standards for new construction of large residential and commercial buildings, and the City Council passed a green building edict this year.
