Willow Smith shaves her head, posts picture online [Poll]

Willow Smith has shaved her head.

Willow Smith and her hair -- or lack of it -- are making headlines once again: The 11-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has shaved her head and posted a picture of the results online.

Last time we cared en masse about the young fashionista's hair, she was whipping braided locks back and forth in her breakout video, "Whip My Hair." She has been rocking much shorter hair in recent months, but nothing as dramatic as what she posted online Friday.

Willow's photo, a detail of which is above, can be seen in full on her WhoSay page.

What do you think of the new do? Before you vote, check out the old look in her October 2010 "Whip My Hair" video below.

'21st Century Girl' Willow Smith wins new-artist NAACP Image Award [Music video]

Kimberly Elise and Tyler Perry at the NAACP Image Awards Willow Smith is the kind of chick who knocks you off your feet, or so she says in her "21st Century Girl" music video that dropped Friday. And it's hard to argue with that logic.

On a night when Tyler Perry ruled the roost, the kid won an NAACP Image Award for outstanding new artist (beating Nicky Minaj and Bruno Mars, among others), is set to star in a remake of "Annie" and has a recording career clicking along, all at the tender age of 10.

She was in the company Friday night of fellow winners Usher, Mary J. Blige and John Legend and the Roots, to name a few, though Alicia Keys' "Un-thinkable (I'm Ready)" beat Willow's "Whip My Hair" for outstanding video.

Some more 2011 Image Award film winners of note: Halle Berry won for her "Frankie & Alice" performance, and the movie won for indie film. Denzel Washington was recognized for his turn in "The Book of Eli" -- besting Willow's brother Jaden Smith, who'd been nominated for "The Karate Kid."

Perry's "For Colored Girls" was named best film, and Perry also won the Chairman's Award in honor of his journey from difficult beginnings to a spot on Hollywood's A-list.

In the television group, "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" won for outstanding comedy series, with comedy lead-acting honors going to Vanessa Williams for "Desperate Housewives" and David Mann for "Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns."

Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' world premiere: When purple 3D glasses attack

Justin Bieber Scooter and Usher in purple glasses

At the purple-themed world premiere of the Justin Bieber movie "Never Say Never" in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, it was hard to tell where the screams on the screen ended and the screams from the audience began.

Justin Bieber premiere The stars turned out with their kids -- as did the stars who are kids -- to walk the crazy purple carpet crush that was streamed live online and into Nokia Theater at L.A. Live.

Selena Gomez showed, leggy in purple, but didn't hold hands in public with rumored beau Bieber. No need to start a riot, right? Miley Cyrus came with mom Tish and sister Noah, and Jaden Smith hung with his folks and sister Willow Smith, who rocked an elaborate, jewelry-encrusted hairdo in line with her fashion-forward rep. (Miley and Jaden are featured in the film.)

Famous parents giving their kids a thrill included Usher, P. Diddy, Jane Lynch, Melanie "Mel B" Brown, and of course Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith -- plus Pattie Mallette, whose kid Justin Bieber has given her quite a few thrills in recent years.

"I don't think you ever get used to something like this," Mallette said on the carpet. "It's mass hysteria at times. But it's amazing. It's a big adventure."

Selena Gomez at the Justin Bieber premiere The screening was kicked off with a few words from impresario Scooter Braun and mentor Usher -- both welcomed by screams, Usher's only slightly louder -- before the purple-suited Biebs stepped up to tell fans in the audience that he loves them, he loves what he's doing, he loves purple, and he really hopes fans love the movie, because it wouldn't have happened without them.

That last, by the way, is an argument strongly supported by the film and by Scooter out on the purple carpet, where fans screamed his name as well as Justin's: "They know me, they know our security, they know our stylist, they know everything about everybody and we've been sharing it with them," he said. "They made this team, we owe them. It's not a ... creep-out thing, I know it doesn't happen when he's not around.

"It's not about me, it's about him and them."

Jay-Z, Will Smith partner with Willow Smith's 'Annie' in mind

Jay-Z confirms Annie remake Last week's buzz is now buzz with a business deal behind it: Jay-Z has partnered with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's production company in a joint venture "to develop and produce major motion pictures" -- including bringing a re-imagined "Annie" to the big screen, with Willow Smith in the title role.

"A decade ago, Jay-Z proved that the power of the underlying Broadway property remains, by showing how these songs could be reinterpreted for a new generation with 'Hard-Knock Life,'" Columbia Pictures President Doug Belgrad said in a statement, adding that Willow "will be perfect in this role." Aileen Queen played the orphan in the 1982 film incarnation of the story.

Willow Smith will star in Annie remake Willow also is signed to Jay-Z's record label, Roc Nation, which produced her single "Whip My Hair."

Jay-Z, a.k.a. Shawn Carter and Mr. Beyonce, produced the Broadway show "Fela!," the story of Nigerian musician Fela Kuti, last year with the Smiths. Overbrook Entertainment, founded by Will Smith and James Lassiter, announced the movie joint venture Wednesday.

Overbrook has been behind the films "The Karate Kid" -- which starred Willow's brother Jaden Smith -- "Ali," "I Am Legend," "Pursuit of Happyness" and "Hitch," among others.

Willow Smith as 'Annie'? Will Smith, Jay-Z could bring it

Willow Smith with Jaden Smith

Willow Smith may be sweet on Daddy Warbucks -- or Daddy Will Smith -- now that papa Smith and Sony are exploring a remake of the classic musical "Annie."

Is Willow Smith, the 10-year-old of "Whip My Hair" fame, jumping on the daddy-make-me-a-movie bandwagon by starring in the musical? Yes, according to Variety -- and we're not really surprised.

Her 12-year-old brother, Jaden, launched his film career last summer in the remake of "The Karate Kid," which was his parents produced. Natch.

Well, Will, now Willow wants a movie too. It's just something you celebrity dads have to deal with. The pepperoni-loving tween is already walking red carpets and was recently profiled by Vanity Fair. It's a hard knock life, we know.

The film will probably be produced by Overbrook Entertainment, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's production company. Variety also reported that Jay-Z would oversee the music for the film via his label Roc Nation, which signed Willow.

The jury is still out on whether the redux would be contemporary or include the original songs. Last time we checked, Little Orphan Annie didn't whip her hair back and forth. And we're having a hard time believing that with Jay-Z on board, this project would be set in the same era as the tap-dancing, sweet-as-pie original.

We do know he's no stranger to the hard knock life either.

They wore *what*? A stroll down the AMAs red carpet

Kesha-minaj-willow Though the 2010 American Music Awards broadcast was definitely tamer and more "family friendly" than last year's Adam Lambert explosion, the red carpet still had its share of "OMG" moments Sunday in Los Angeles -- and no, it wasn't just about Taylor Swift's hair.

Among the flashier folks: Ke$ha stepping out in Hefty bag chic, Willow Smith in an '80s-redux onesie, and Nicki Minaj in a sort of Versace meets Carmen Miranda meets "The Fifth Element" ensemble (actually, it was Manish Arora).

Though Justin Bieber didn't stop on the red carpet on his way to winning four awards, including artist of the year, his mentor, Usher, played it cool on arrival in black leather and shades.

Amas-pictures-refer Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum, the most nominated group of the evening, rocked jackets and ties and a gown, for the lady, with boots for the gents. The team took home one award out of five nods, for favorite country band, duo or group.

Gavin Rossdale shared the "very fluid" dynamics of his rehearsals with Carlos Santana, and members of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys discussed their upcoming mash-up tour. It hits Los Angeles on June 1, ladies -- you know who you are.

Pop & Hiss has instant reviews of the night's many performances -- but be forewarned, Todd Martens was not grading on a curve. Click the pic of Usher and Bieber above for more photos.

Willow Smith, watch out -- the old guys are coming for ya, whipping what hair they have left.

In character as Neil Young and singing with Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Fallon covered the tween's debut single, "Whip My Hair," Tuesday on his late-night show.

Who knew Fallon's Springsteen-"Glee" Emmys mashup would lead us here?

Let us know which version you prefer -- you can watch Willow's below the poll.

(And hey, speaking of "Glee," can Sue Sylvester maybe have a chat with Springsteen about that beret? After all, even Gwyneth Paltrow listened up.)

Greyson Chance reveals what he loves, what he wants

Greyson Chance and Ellen DeGeneres After breaking out on YouTube with his acoustic piano rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," Greyson Chance is taking another cue from the pop phenom: Like Gaga does with @ladygaga, he is the only person who knows the password to his verified Twitter account.

So if you hear back from @greysonchance, you really are hearing back from @greysonchance.

"I know what it's like on the other side when you like someone and they don't follow you back, and sometimes they'll follow you back" the 13-year-old said Wednesday in L.A. at What Teens Want, a brand-partnership conference focusing on, well, teens and what they want — in music, movies, video games, Web content and more.

"I try to stay connected with them [fans] and make them feel like they're at home."

The live-tweet of the panel discussion, which also featured Lady Gaga manager Troy Carter (who found Greyson on YouTube) and Jennifer Frommer of Interscope Records (the Lady's label) — revealed lots of Tiger Beat-type tidbit: Greyson loves jalapeno chips (that'd be a cool brand partner, he said), wears "lucky bracelets" and adores his iPod.

"My iPod broke, and I was devastated," he said. "That was the day my heart just fell."

Willow Smith: All you need to know, including what it's like with Justin Bieber in the picture

For those without Internet access this week, or recent owners of well-appointed homes under a rock -- meet Willow Smith

She's the 9-year-old (almost 10-year-old) daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, and she's here to become the multi-platform superstar that her DNA demands.

With the release of her "Whip My Hair," young Willow introduces to us a pre-preteen firecracker who lives up to her impeccable breeding and perhaps takes the legacy one step further (after all, we don't see Will getting tribute from the Muppets).

The young star hit the offices of Teen Vogue recently to share some essential info, and we thought the world would only benefit from this intimate knowledge, including her thoughts on Justin Bieber.
