Who is Alexz Johnson and why was she trending on Twitter?

Alexz Johnson took Twitter's top searches by storm Tuesday after she shared a video of her playing her new single  "Thief" featuring Jimmy Robbins.

The pair played guitar together as Johnson sang in the black-and-white video uploaded to YouTube, giving 13-year-old Rebecca Black, that recent polarizing YouTube sensation, a run for her money.

Updated, 8:35 p.m.: Johnson's song "Time to Be Your 21" was featured on Monday's episode of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," which also prompted the tweets. Thanks to Alexz's fans for the heads up via comments and tweets.

"Its insane... My music finally has a chance to be heard!!," she said when contacted by the Ministry.

Besides topping the Twitter searches, fans petitioned for the singer to get a verified account on the microblogging site.

"Alexz Johnson still trending!! Crazy!!!!!!," Johnson tweeted  earlier with a photo of the popular topics.

The 24-year-old singer-actress garnered love from celebrity fans including Nelly Furtado and Demi Lovato, who tweeted props to the singer.

"Alexz Johnson is trending.. Pretty cool. She's the reason I picked up the guitar and started writing songs," the "Sonny with a Chance" star wrote.

"So excited! Just found out BRAND NEW #Alexz Johnson single, "LOOK AT THOSE EYES" comes out early-this tuesday on i-tunes! Don't sleep!" Furtado tweeted.

Johnson, who has appeared in "Final Destination 3" and "Smallville," is best known for her short stint on "Instant Star," a Canadian television show where she played an "American Idol"-like contest winner only to learn that fame came at an unsavory price.

Her newest album "Reloaded" will be available April 26.

Do you think Johnson's "Thief" is stealing Black's spotlight? Let us know in comments.

Morgan Freeman's hand still not fake -- chill, people, OK?

Morgan So last year after a serious car accident, Morgan Freeman had surgery on his left arm, elbow and shoulder -- and now while he's out doing press for "Invictus," people aren't seeing the hand on that arm do very much at all.

And he's wearing one glove.  Which nobody's ever done before

Especially after surgery.

So that must mean it's a fake hand?

Funny -- in January, he told Access Hollywood that his hand was still paralyzed "until the nerves get down there" after all that damage.

Then people ran this drill again in February after the Grammy Awards. And the rumor keeps popping up on discussion boards Internet-wide, mostly accompanied by words we can't repeat and astute observations about human nature.

Patience, people, patience.

And don't believe everything you read on the Interwebs, OK? Though most of this next part is true:

Hugh Laurie's hand was following the Ministry's personal Twitter feed for a stretch earlier this year, but it seems to have lost interest and hasn't tweeted much lately.

We were crushed, but perhaps Hugh's hand is hanging out with Morgan's now, and the two just want some privacy?

Enough Carrie Prejean news to make your head explode

MonicaCarrie Prejean, we wanna party with you.

Relaxing our way into the weekend, we are taking in the full scope of the land mines that have appeared around you since last we spoke. And we didn't speak that long ago, dear.

First, Carrie, there was that visit with Larry King.

In terms of walk-offs, your effort fell somewhere between when Kanye West's mom's surgeon walked off King's show, and when Usher didn't walk but did end his interview early after King's Michael Jackson questions went where Usher didn't want them to go.

Some advice: If you're going to make a bold statement, commit to it. Want to walk off? Then walk the heck off! Throw something while you're at it! Even if it's only a tear-stained, wadded-up tissue! (Sadly, they don't travel far, we've learned).

Also: The big dogs won't take you seriously if you fight back with "that's inappropriate," or even "that's very inappropriate." The "Carrie is polite" ship has sailed. We recommend something along the lines of, "Is that the best question you can come up with, old man? C'mon, even Sean 'What do you tell young girls?' Hannity could do better. You drop your faux shock and I'll drop mine."

So, back to that mine field ...

Why so trendy, Dwyane Wade? Was Gabrielle Union watching?

Two weeks ago, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade scored his 10,000th point. Then last night, he made a crazy dunk shot that Washington Post writer Michael Lee is calling "probably the most emasculating dunk in recent memory."

Today lots of folks want to see what they missed.

Shaquille O'Neal's Cleveland Cavaliers won the game, but who really cares?

Wade, who's going through a nasty divorce, has been linked with "FlashForward" actress Gabrielle Union, BET and the Palm Beach Post report.

The dunk is a crowd pleaser, even if you're not a basketball fan.

So sit back, hit play and be pleased.

Or click to the jump to see Gabrielle as Isis, head cheerleader for the East Compton Clovers, in the PG-13 trailer from "Bring It On," which we are proud to say is one of our favorite guilty-pleasure cheerleading movies.

Why so trendy, Charlie Brown?

Why are "Charlie Brown" and "Great Pumpkin" trending topics on Twitter? Good grief! Must we always spell it out?

If we must: It's that time of year, ABC just aired "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and there's something about a childhood memory that makes a person want to commune with as many strangers as possible.

So now that we're feeling all warm and mushy, let's squash that sentiment by watching Jimmy Kimmel's "Great Pumpkin Remix!"

(By the way, if you missed the real Peanuts classic on TV and don't feel like waiting for Netflix, you can find it on YouTube.)
