Victoria Beckham thanks David, kids for British fashion honor

Victoria Beckham's eponymous clothing and accessories line has transformed from pet project to fashion force: The former Spice Girl and footballer's wife took Brand of the Year at Monday night's British Fashion Awards.

Beckham, who was presented the award by designer Marc Jacobs, attributed her success to husband and soccer star David Beckham, and their four kids.

"Without David I wouldn’t have had the courage to do what I am doing," she told the Daily Mail backstage.

David echoed her sentiments on his Facebook page saying, "the boys and I are incredibly proud of Victoria after winning a prestigious British Fashion Award tonight. She has worked so hard and deserves all the recognition."

Beckham's signature cocktail looks, always a tight fit and feminine with hardware detail including exposed zippers, are red carpet favorites among ladies such as Eva Longoria and Heidi Klum.

Other big winners at the British Fashion Awards included Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who made the little-seen wedding dress of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Stella McCartney.

Eva Longoria: No, I'm not breathing -- it's a Victoria Beckham

Eva Longoria is such a committed friend, she'll apparently go to great lengths to support her pals. By suffocating herself, for instance.

The "Desperate Housewives" star attended the Hollywood Style Awards on Sunday to present a trophy to photographer Randall Slavin, and made a crack about rocking one of her chum Victoria Beckham's high-end dresses.

After teetering down a runway to the stage's lectern, Longoria needed a moment to catch her breath.

"I can't breathe in this dress. It's Victoria Beckham, so it's a negative-4," she said of the size, getting chuckles from a crowd that included newly single Zoe Saldana, Khloe Kardashian, stylist Elizabeth Stewart and Madonna's "W.E." leading lady, Andrea Riseborough.

All in good fun, we're sure, as Beckham and Eduardo Cruz's current squeeze go way back. The gals recently had a catch-up session at one of David Beckham's soccer matches, where Eva was spotted cuddling Victoria's new daughter, Harper Seven.

Victoria Beckham, Alexander Skarsgard kick off N.Y. Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is here, with folks like Victoria Beckham and "True Blood" hunk Alexander Skarsgard hitting the Big Apple for the sartorial celebration.

On Wednesday evening, coverboy Skarsgard kicked things off as he played host to Blackbook magazine's 15th anniversary party.

Cast mate Kristin Bauer van Straten showed up on the rooftop of NYC's Dream Hotel, as did Estelle, Bryan Greenberg, Skarsgard's "Generation Kill" costar James Ransone and band One Republic, sipping Tequila Don Julio.

Beckham rolled with a much different crew out of Los Angeles: mainly her newborn, Harper. And talk about baby's first front row — soccer star David Beckham's wife even tweeted about bringing the little one to the shows.

"Mummy and baby Harper are very excited for fashion week!!!" she said.

With the newest Beckham baby name, a brief moment of hope for normalcy

David and Victoria Beckham have a new baby. Given that this is Posh Spice's infant we're talking about, the bambina probably has her own line of skinny denim by now, but that could not be confirmed at press time. What we do know is this: The baby has a name that's almost normal. Almost.

The first name, we have learned, is Harper. With all due respect to the creator of Scout Finch, as well as women who currently bear this name, Harper is only sort of obnoxious -- moderately chafing, as celebrity names go.

(By contrast, recall the all-out preciousness we suffered under the naming of the other Beckham children, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz; not to mention Gwyneth Paltrow's kids, Apple and Moses; Pink's new daughter Willow; Natalie Portman's baby son Aleph; as well as less recent tot monikers such as Peaches Geldof, Kal-El Coppola and, natch, those of the Jolie-Pitt brood, aka Those Who Shall Not Be Uttered Lest We Drown in All That Specialness.)

When we at the Ministry learned that the new Beckham baby was named Harper -- as opposed to Delphinium or Flypaper or Muse -- a bit of hope rose in our gnarled hearts. Maybe, we supposed, this was the signal of some new era in celebrity baby names. Maybe this next wave of celebrity spawn will spare us from all the twee, and bathe us in soothing monikers such as John or Hope or Fabio.

Then we saw Harper's middle name. It is Seven.

So much for moderation.

Victoria Beckham's baby arrives to the name Harper Seven -- and why not?

Victoria Beckham and husband David Beckham finally have a baby girl to go with their boys, and they've named her Harper Seven Beckham.

Posh delivered in L.A., welcoming the 7-pound, 10-ounce, little lady at 7:55 a.m. Sunday.

"Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister," Becks said late Sunday on his Facebook page, where he revealed his daughter's name.

Harper Seven joins brothers Brooklyn Joseph, 12, Romeo James, 8, and Cruz David, 6.

Why the middle name "Seven"?  Speculation is tying the name to the baby's weight at birth, in the seventh month and seventh hour; to her dad's old soccer jersey number; and even to Harper's future search-result success when she's ego-Googling.

We prefer an old standby, however: "Because we can," from the "Why not?" school of nomenclature.

David Beckham posts a sneak peek at Victoria Beckham's baby bump [Picture]

Not everyone looks ravishing with a nearly done baby bump, but David Beckham wants fans to know his wife Victoria Beckham is one of the lucky ones -- the soccer star has posted a picture of a very pregnant Posh on his Facebook page.

"Took this pic of Victoria while she wasn't looking," Becks wrote Thursday. "She looks amazing, so close now to the baby being born."

While she wasn't looking, hmm? Nice house dress, lady! Incidentally, Victoria told People earlier this month that she would not be baring that bump for anyone but her husband.

“I’m not really one of those people that likes to go out and pose and flaunt being pregnant," she said. "Not like there's anything wrong in that."

Apparently hubby agrees.

Rumors that baby girl Beckham had been born on the 4th of July did the Twitter rounds over the weekend, but alas, the bun's still in the oven.

Gordon Ramsay horrified over restaurant's Victoria Beckham snub

Celeb chef Gordon Ramsay thinks you should give Victoria Beckham what she wants, thank you very much. 

Well, nothing unreasonable, just a few modifications to the odd restaurant dish so the pregnant celeb can enjoy a mild meal.

Speaking with the media to promote the second season of "MasterChef," Ramsay let an anecdote fly about a recent meal he shared with soccer star David Beckham's wife, according to our fellow blog Daily Dish.

At celeb-favorite Venice restaurant Gjelina, Ramsay and "Lady Victoria," as he called her, broke bread together. When she placed an order for a smoked trout salad sans accoutrement (grapefruit, avocado, red onion and lemon) and dressing on the side, Mrs. Beckham was brutally rebuffed.

"The lady's pregnant!" Ramsay cried. "No one is asking to be fussy. ... I still think that's the customer's prerogative. ... It was a sour note. I don't think customers should be treated that way."

Ramsay argues that her eight-months-pregnant-status certainly warrants lighter fare, though it could be argued a high-brow dining experience shouldn't be modified.

'American Idol' creator Simon Fuller honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Simon Fuller's star continues to shine -- the "American Idol" creator received the 2,441st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame just as the reality competition wraps its 10th season.

Fuller was presented with the star Monday in front of W Hollywood hotel on Hollywood Boulevard, flanked by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, judges Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez and the entire Season 10 cast -- whose finale kicks off Tuesday night.

"You deserve this more than anyone I know," said "Idol" winner Carrie Underwood, who presented him with the award. The 51-year-old British entrepreneur also created "So You Think You Can Dance."

"Whenever I see that star, I won't see my name, I'll see all names of the people I've worked [with] and all those amazing artists and people that have helped me achieve this stuff," Fuller said, specifically thanking former "Idol" judge and producer Simon Cowell. "What you did for 'American Idol,' I personally will never forget."

Lopez's hubby Marc Anthony and designer Victoria Beckham, whom Fuller managed when she was with the Spice Girls, also attended with son Brooklyn Beckham. "American Idol" alum Kris Allen and David Cook joined the festivities. Fuller's wife, Natalie Swanston, was on hand for the presentation too.

Singer Chaka Khan received the 2,440th star earlier this month at a ceremony that included Stevie Wonder and music producer Benny Medina.

Tony Danza, Sharon Stone, Berry Gordy Jr. and Jerry Weintraub attended the ceremony for Weintraub's wife Jane Morgan, who received the 2,439th star.

"Criminal Minds" star Joe Mantegna received the 2,438th star in April joined by Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness,  A.J. Cook, Rachel Nichols, Andy Garcia, Jean Smart and Dennis Franz.

CBS news correspondent and author Bill Geist was joined by Lassie the dog when he received the 2,437th star in April.

Earlier that month, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Rob Marshall and actors Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem attended the 2,436th star ceremony for Bardem's wife Penélope Cruz.

Victoria Beckham had a lovely little baby shower in celebration of her first little girl, with famous female friends Eva Longoria, Nicole Richie and Selma Blair.

On Saturday, friends of the fashion mogul and former Spice Girl gathered at West Hollywood's Le Petit Ermitage Hotel -- decked out with pink table cloths and pink blossoms atop round tables with white umbrellas, according to People magazine.  

At the rooftop Butterfly Bar, the intimate group enjoyed an English tea-party theme, complete with princess cake with marzipan.

An excited Beckham tweeted she was having "so much fun" playing the bridal-shower standard party games -- led by Blair, who is also expecting -- in which guests had to design a dress out of toilet paper.

Beckham also tweeted a shot of the TP couture, above right. Victoria already has three boys in her brood -- Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz -- with husband David Beckham.

Brooklyn was riding in dad's Cadillac on Friday when the soccer star rear-ended a car that was broken down in the carpool lane of the 405 Freeway. The other driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution for neck pain, according to the Fabulous Forum, but David Beckham was not cited.

Baby Spice Emma Bunton has a new baby boy

It's a boy for Baby Spice Emma Bunton.

The former Spice Girl and fiance Jade Jones welcomed their second son Tate Friday. Bunton and Jones already have a 3-year-old named Beau.

"Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all. Xx," she tweeted. "Still on cloud 9 with my boys!!"

Tate weighed in at 7 pounds, People reported.

"Both mother and baby are doing well and the family are over the moon and would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and support," Bunton's rep told the mag.

Bunton, 35, and Jones, 31, a former boy band member who is now a chef, got engaged last January after dating for 11 years.

Though their girl group split a while back, Bunton is still making headlines with fellow former Spice Girls Melanie Brown and Victoria Beckham -- Scary and Posh are also expecting babies in the next few months.
