Ashley Tisdale reunites Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron -- kinda, sorta

Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens unite at Ashley Tisdale's premiere party

Ashley Tisdale worked some of her Disney magic to bring together exes Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens at a party Wednesday night.

No, the "High School Musical" sweethearts are not back together as a couple, but they are attending the same events.

Efron and Hudgens joined their "HSM" co-star at Soho House in West Hollywood for the launch of her straight-to-DVD Disney movie "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure," E! reported.

"The former couple appeared to be having a good time separately, but we're not holding our breath for a reconciliation," the blog said.

The two posed separately for photos with Tisdale, currently starring in the CW's "Hellcats," but also stayed away from each other on the red carpet, according to Access Hollywood. They began dating in 2005 on the "HSM" set, but split in December.

No surprise there. Efron, 23, is playing the field and has been busy filming Garry Marshall's "New Year's Eve." And Hudgens, 22, has been spotted with her "Journey 2: Mysterious Island" co-star Josh Hutcherson (recently cast in "The Hunger Games") on motorcycle rides. She's also been promoting her latest films, "Sucker Punch" and "Beastly."

We wonder, though, about any awkward moments they might have had at all those Lakers games they've been attending.

If you happen to be wondering what 25-year-old Tisdale's film "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure" entails, watch the trailer below, or think "Legally Blonde" meets "Fame."

Makes us wonder if this Zac-Vanessa buzz was just a way to plug the film. What do you think? Tell us in comments.

'Sucker Punch' movie premiere: Abbie Cornish, Jon Hamm, Vanessa Hudgens jab the black carpet

Carla Gugino, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish, Deborah Snyder, Zach Snyder, Emily Browning, Jamie Chung, and Vanessa Hudgens at the "Sucker Punch" premiere

This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

The stars of Zack Snyder's estrogen-infused, sci-fi action flick "Sucker Punch" walked the black carpet Wednesday for the ultra-glam premiere of the film starring Abbie Cornish, Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens and Jon Hamm.

Snyder, who also directed "Watchmen" and "300," attended the premiere with his leading ladies and gentleman at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Australian actress Browning  is Baby Doll, a girl who loses her loved ones and gets locked away by her stepfather (Gerard Plunkett) in a Vermont insane asylum -- and is then tasked by wise man Scott Glenn with finding five items she needs to be set free. Plunkett and Glenn did not attend the premiere.

Jon Hamm at 'Sucker Punch' premiere Hamm plays High Roller, a different type of mad man.

The leading ladies in the asylum -- and walking the carpet -- with Browning include Cornish, who plays Sweet Pea; Jena Malone, who plays Sweet Pea's sister Rocket; and "Grown Ups" nanny Jamie Chung, cast as Amber.

Hudgens, who built her fame on the "High School Musical" empire and plays Blondie (a brunet), stepped out with her costars at the premiere. Click the pics for more photos from the event.

Carla Gugino plays Polish psychotherapist Dr. Vera Gorski, who offers up striptease as a cure, in the Warner Bros. film.

Diane Lane, who will play Martha Kent in Snyder's upcoming film, "Superman: Man of Steel," joined Malin Akerman at the premiere. Akerman previously starred in Snyder's "Watchmen."

"Scream 4" star Emma Roberts and newly single singer Joe Jonas also hit the black carpet.

The film sucker punches its way into theaters March 25.

For the record, 4:45 p.m. March 24: This post originally said "Sucker Punch" revolves around the Sweet Pea character, played by Abbie Cornish. Emily Browning's Baby Doll is in fact the main character; the post has been revised to reflect that. Thanks to commenter @Reila Scott for flagging the gaffe.

Vanessa Hudgens, a tardy Alex Pettyfer attend 'Beastly' premiere

Vanessa Hudgens at the Beastly Movie premiere Alex Pettyfer may have been late to the Los Angeles premiere of "Beastly," but his costars Vanessa Hudgens, Neil Patrick Harris and a sampling of young Hollywood didn't shy away from the film's red carpet Thursday night at the Grove.

Beastly movie premiere

The film is a modern-day retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" based on Alex Flinn's book. It was set to open last July but CBS Films postponed its release because of "Charlie St. Cloud," which starred Hudgens' "High School Musical" costar and ex-boyfriend Zac Efron. Trouble in paradise? Perhaps.

In "Beastly," Pettyfer plays a handsome but conceited teen who is cursed into ugly oblivion by Mary-Kate Olsen. He has a year to make someone fall in love with him to break the spell. Enter Hudgens' Lindy.

Pettyfer's Kyle gets a little helps from a blind tutor in the film played by Harris, who also graced the red carpet. Fun fact: Harris directed Hudgens as Mimi in "Rent" last summer.

Also making an appearance (and on time) were mini-Kardashian sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, "Harry's Law's" Brittany Snow and "Modern Family's" Sarah Hyland. Click the pics above for more photos from the red carpet.

Hudgens' Disney alum Raven-Symone Pearman stopped by too.

"Beastly" hits theaters March 4.

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens split up

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens split Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have split up, bringing their "High School Musical" romance to an end, according to several reports.

The pair met on the "Musical" set in 2005, but over the past years the relationship "just ran its course," a source close the couple told Us Weekly.

"They are still talking and still friends. There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up," the insider added.

In an August cover story with Details magazine, Efron indicated all was right between him and Hudgens, saying the relationship was "exactly how it should be. It's real." The couple attended a party in celebration of the same cover a few weeks later, looking happy.

Calls to reps for both actors were not immediately returned.

Zac Efron, Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann welcome Bill Hader to Hollywood

Zac-efron-hollywood-party

Who says Hollywood isn't welcoming? Producer and director Judd Apatow and his wife, Leslie Mann, certainly rolled out the red carpet for "Saturday Night Live" funnyman Bill Hader on Tuesday night.

Visiting the West Coast from his hometown New York, Hader booked a dinner date with the couple, who mentioned a soiree Details magazine was throwing for cover boy Zac Efron in the hills of West Hollywood.

Hader confessed he'd never been to a "Hollywood party," and the Apatow-Manns certainly weren't having that. The three rolled up to the intimate bash, to which Efron had brought his girlfriend,  Vanessa Hudgens, for some quality schmoozing.

Guests including "Glee" star Matthew Morrison, singer Josh Groban, "The Twilight Saga" werewolf Alex Meraz, David Spade, Aaron Paul, director Adam Shankman and Rose McGowan, hosted by editor in chief Dan Peres.

Not bad for your first time, Bill.

Hader will soon head back to NYC to prep for the new season of "SNL," where he can expect the likes of Jane Lynch to grace the studio at Rockefeller Center.

Zac Efron on Vanessa Hudgens, Tom Cruise and why he turned down 'Footloose'

Zac-efron-details There's a chatty lining to "Charlie St. Cloud," meaning its headliner, Zac Efron, recently opened up about girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, his motorcycle date with Tom Cruise and why he turned down the lead in the "Footloose" remake.

"Believe me, I rack my brain thinking, 'Why am I not out there playing the field?' One of my buddies was like, 'You have no idea what’s going on right now. You’re peaking on Ecstasy and you’re watching TV.' But it's not in my heart," he says about girlfriend Hudgens, in the new issue of Details magazine.

He calls the love between him and his "High School Musical" costar "exactly how it should be. It's real."

A more surreal experience occurred recently when Efron visited talent agency CAA and was flagged down in the lobby by Tom Cruise, who asked if the young star knew how to ride a motorcycle. After Zac admitted he didn't, Cruise offered to teach him.

The two spent a day talking about how the smaller engines work, followed by a tour of the hangar that Cruise keeps his bikes in.

"It’s just so cool," Efron said, "... the fact that he cared at all."

Perhaps the actors talked shop, as Efron certainly has his pick of projects these days, including ...

Zoe Saldana comes out of the closet at Women in Film's Crystal + Lucy Awards

Zoe-Saldana

At Women in Film's 2010 Crystal + Lucy Awards Tuesday night, Zoe Saldana finally announced that she was coming out of the closet.

As a straight woman, that is.

Accepting the MaxMara "Face of the Future" Award, the 31-year-old "Avatar" and "Star Trek" star said, "I have to thank that one special person who always gets buried and overlooked. I've lived a very private life, and I've been with a partner for 10 years who has allowed me to age ..."

Women-in-Film-gallery (Insert your own gasp here.)

"... which is absolutely awesome and he's super bright, and he's here tonight and I'm just going to come out of the closet right now. I'm going to say, 'Thank you.' I tend to confuse privacy with not saying thank you, so I love you."

And then the screens on either side of the stage flashed on her squeeze, former actor and chief executive of MyFDB.com Keith Britton

Now the Ministry is just as romantic as the next blogger, but we suspect that the lovely Saldana didn't just wake up and discover she was living with a cutie pie. We're placing our bets on the long arm of Siempre Mujer magazine, for Latinas living in the U.S., which put her on the cover of its April/May issue. English translations of the cover story, which ricocheted as far away as the Hindustan Times, had Saldana saying she wasn't surprised by rumors she was a lesbian: "People have sometimes told my grandmother, 'Your granddaughter has a bit of lesbianism in her.'"

Oops.

Couples update: Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens slip into something more comfortable

Zac efron vanessa hudgens

In the stratosphere of teen stardom, where friends and lovers change as quickly as the courses of a Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber sushi date, it's nice to have constants like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.

Though they're not the most buzzed-about pair since the "High School Musical" franchise cooled, they're still very much an item.

The Ministry spotted Miss Hudgens, star of the upcoming "Beastly" with Mary-Kate Olsen, shopping at the Los Angeles Diesel flagship on Wednesday. The actress scored goods not only for herself, but also picked up a pair of Efron's favorite ...
