Ty Burrell and wife Holly adopt a second baby girl

Ty Burrell and wife Holly Burrell

Ty Burrell and wife Holly have adopted a baby daughter, bringing the number of girls in their "Modern Family" to two.

Beyond the fact that the adoption happened, which the Burrells' rep confirmed to People, there aren't any more details out there for now, so fans of baby names will have to wait to weigh in on Baby Burrell's moniker.

Don't expect anything too wacky, however: The couple's first girl, adopted in 2010 when she was 6 months old, goes by Frances.

"I am just in complete denial that she'll ever be over 13," actor Burrell told Us Weekly at the Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest in Beverly Hills last week, talking about little Frances. "She's so cute. She's getting cuter every moment. I'm in a very blissful period with her."

Make that bliss times two, Daddy-O.

Brad Pitt, George Clooney buddy up for '8' in Los Angeles

Brad Pitt and George Clooney

Good news, Brad Pitt and George Clooney fans -- the band's back together. Or at least it was on Saturday evening in Los Angeles, where the two stars reunited onstage for the play "8."

Penned by Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black, the YouTube-streamed reading at the Wilshire Ebell Theater charted the proceedings in the federal appeals court hearing that deemed Proposition 8, a state ban on gay marriage, unconstitutional.

"How come no one knew their lines?" joked an adorable Darren Criss, referring to the actors' being "on book," thus qualifying the production as a staged reading. Criss admitted that the performances got him a bit choked up.

Like those of Jamie Lee Curtis and Christine Lahti, playing two married women -- two of the plaintiffs -- whose union was considered void once the proposition passed. Matt Bomer and Matthew Morrison played a male couple who were also plaintiffs.

Pitt loomed large as the judge, hearing arguments from lawyer characters played by Clooney, Martin Sheen and Kevin Bacon, and their witnesses and experts portrayed by the likes of John C. Reilly, Chris Colfer, Yeardley Smith, George Takei and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

An after-party in the theater's charming courtyard brought out Ferguson's "Modern Family" family, including Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet and Ty Burrell. Kyra Sedgwick came through for Mr. Bacon, and Brad and George stuck close by each other.

Just how we like them.

Alec Baldwin to 'Modern Family': 'I'm pitching myself to you guys'

Alec Baldwin backstage at the SAG Awards

As "Modern Family" cast members took their group shot at the Los Angeles Times' Photo Booth, male actor in a comedy series winner Alec Baldwin used the opportunity both to acknowledge two other thespians in his category — and to look for his next TV job.

"You know, my show is almost over," Baldwin said, eyeing fellow nominees Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet. Baldwin clarified: "I'm actually pitching myself to you guys."

However, never one to hold back, he joked as he watched the ensemble pose: "Look at them. So young, so talented, so smug."

So what in the world does a person do with six Actor statuettes? "I'm building an addition to my house with them," he quipped as he moved to get his own picture taken.

Not a bad idea from a guy who has also toyed with the idea of running for mayor of New York City — a concept that had most media backstage more interested in Baldwin's opinion on the Republican candidates for president than any plans for his new trophy.

"The Republicans are nervous that if they don't have a real red-state type of candidate like a [Newt] Gingrich, then they're not going to get the Christian right to come to the polls and they'll lose to Obama in a head-to-head election," he said.

Emmys: Jane Lynch, Heidi Klum and a happy 'Family' at Governors Ball

Guy Pearce at the 2011 Emmy Awards governors ball

Perhaps it was the big "Modern Family" sweep that had everyone on their best behavior: The 2011 Emmy Awards Governors Ball was one of the most efficient the Ministry has ever seen.

Host Jane Lynch was swept in just after 8:15 p.m., gliding from the Nokia Theatre to the Los Angeles Convention Center, where she screamed she was excited for "dinner time!"

Amy Poehler and husband Will Arnett came hand-in-hand for the black-and-white gala, which featured trippy color-blocked carpets and a touch of "Clockwork Orange" face paint on service staff.

Harlequin dancers in checkered body suits performed for winners Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen, as well as their costars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara.

Heidi Klum and Seal at the 2011 Emmy Awards governors ball We tried to shout out a compliment to Melissa McCarthy, who designed her own dress, but the winner for outstanding actress in a comedy was too inundated with well-wishers.

Kathy Griffin and Seth Meyers shared a chat outside around several golden trophies, while reality show host Heidi Klum sneaked in in a gorgeous flounced beige gown with floral detail. Husband Seal was her best accessory.

"Glee" didn't make it to the main stage, but McKinley High students including Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Chris Colfer munched on tomato salad and gabbed. As did most of the crowd -- it was a rarity to find bottoms in seats just after the telecast.

Although eyes were peeled for Kate Winslet, the best actress in a miniseries victor, her winning costar Guy Pearce did just fine accepting kudos from the HBO crowd. The big winners from "Mad Men" stuck to themselves, as Jon Hamm, John Slattery and creator Matthew Weiner all conversed in tailored suits.

Christina Hendricks, curvy as ever, slipped gracefully in with Elizabeth Moss on her heels. And speaking of heels: Nominee Kristen Wiig of "Saturday Night Live" had a partygoer nail the train of her brown silk gown with a stiletto heel. She smiled it off.

Ty Burrell betting on 'Modern Family' costar for Emmy win

Ty Burrell is Emmy nominated for Modern Family Ah, modesty -- as important to award shows as red carpets and designer gowns. "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell, who is nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy, had plenty of it Friday night.

Attending the Emmy's Performer Nominee Reception at the Pacific Design Center, Burrell got to rub elbows with the likes of Glenn Close, Seth Green, Bryan Cranston and Julia Ormond at the Grey Goose-sponsored fete.

Burrell predicts he won't snatch the trophy on Sunday, but that it'll stay in the "Family" with a win for his costar Eric Stonestreet.

"I don't win, I don't win anything," Burrell insisted. "I think Eric is going to win. Just pray our show wins."

Burrell certainly hasn't played a losing game in the past year, with the sitcom's success and his  upcoming film "Butter," which he stars in opposite Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman. Burrell and his wife also adopted their first child this year.

"I only wish my success came later in life," he joked. "In my 60s instead of my 40s."

Who do you think will nab the gold statues Sunday? Check out a full list of Emmy nominees here.

'Modern Family' star Ty Burrell gets parenting advice from Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman

Ty-and-holly-web For a first time dad, it's usually baby books and baptism by fire when it comes to parenting. "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell got the inside track with tips from costars Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman

On the set of his new flick "Butter," Burrell says colleagues including Garner and Jackman were more than willing to chat about family life, as he and wife, Holly, welcomed home a baby girl in March.

"I had great conversations with those guys about parenting ... it was really cool. Some people on the set had adopted, and we'd adopted, so [we discussed] those tangents as well."

Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness have two kids, Oscar, 10, and Ava, 4. Garner has two daughters, Violet and Seraphina, with actor Ben Affleck. In "Butter," Burrell and Garner play a super-competitive couple entered in a butter-carving contest.

While the actor says his filming experience during the "Modern Family" hiatus was like "summer camp," it was hard leaving his own girls at home so soon.
