Jennifer Lopez celebrates 42nd birthday with dinner in Miami

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez kept things simple and sweet for her 42nd birthday, enjoying a luxurious dinner for 16 close friends and family in Miami.

Lopez's mother, Guadalupe, her manager, her stylist and one of her sisters were among those who gathered at the Hotel Fontainbleau on Saturday, hitting Scott Conant's celeb-friendly eatery Scarpetta for foie gras ravioli and polenta.

"Jennifer looked radiant in a purple and silver evening dress," a source told People, "and when they brought out her birthday cake after the meal, she began to sing. She was very happy ... they closed down the restaurant."

Obviously missing from the group was Marc Anthony, Lopez's recently estranged husband. The pair caused a stir only 10 days ago, announcing that they had mutually agreed to end their seven-year marriage.

Prior to the birthday dinner, Lopez indulged in some retail therapy in the swanky Bal Harbour shopping district, scoring outfits for her twins Max and Emme from Bonpoint.

Lopez turned 42 on Sunday.

Marc Anthony gets to flirt, Jennifer Lopez gets to work after split

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are moving on after their divorce

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's split has many fans reeling, but life moves on for the celebrity pair.

The two dropped a bombshell Friday, announcing they had decided to end their marriage after more than seven years, saying it "was a very difficult decision" and "we have come to amicable conclusion on all matters."

So what's next? For Anthony, it was a Saturday night concert in Colombia that included some flirting with female audience members.

"They're saying I'm single," he told the crowd, eliciting cheers of the female variety. Blowing kisses at adoring women during his set, the crooner even singled one out and shouted, "Mamacita!"

As for Lopez, she's on her way to sing at a wedding (ouch) in Ukraine on Tuesday. Tapped by a billionaire to perform at his nuptials, Lopez will allegedly earn more than a million bucks for the gig.

The duo are parents to fraternal twins Max and Emme, 3. Following end-of-summer obligations, Lopez may or may not return to "American Idol," while Anthony has a recurring role on TNT's Jada Pinkett-Smith led drama "Hawthorne."

Pippa Middleton is single! Kate's sister is back on the market

Pippa Middleton is single. This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

Pippa Middleton has remained in demand since her sister Kate's tiny, low-profile wedding in April — but now she's super available.

The brunet is back on the playing field after splitting from boyfriend Alex Loudon, a slew of reports say.

Loudon, a former cricket player and current investment banker, escorted the younger Middleton sister to the royal wedding of Prince William to the woman now known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. It would seem there's no longer a seat for Loudon at the banquet table, however.

"Pippa has become very high profile, and it's put a strain on things," a source close to Loudon told the U.K.'s Sun. "They're moving in different circles."

The report indicates the pair will remain good friends, natch.

So what will Pippa do next?

It's hard to avoid that Pip has been spending quite a bit of time with former college boyfriend George Percy — described as "fabulously wealthy" and also the son of the duke of Northumberland.

Pippa Middleton and George Percy Though stateside, a current or former athlete could certainly make for decent dating material; we dare say a close-to-titled fella such as George is more the speed of a Middleton sister these days.

What do you expect from Pippa's love life? Tell us in comments.

[For the record, 6:56 p.m. June 13: This post originally referred to Loudon as a former rugby player. Pippa's ex played cricket.]

Lady Gaga confirms she's split from beau Luc Carl

Lady Gaga breaks up with boyfriend Luc Carl Lady Gaga is sobering up from her relationship with New York bartender-drummer Luc Carl.

On Friday night's "The Graham Norton Show," Gaga made quite a show in a wedding dress from an Irish designer, left, but confirmed she won't be headed down the aisle anytime soon.

"No boyfriend," she said when the BBC's Norton asked if she was dating. "I'm miserably pathetic in my wedding dress."

While that got laughs from fellow guests Gwyneth Paltrow and Geoffrey Rush, Gagaloo did give some insight on what it's like courting her.

"I haven't been on any dates recently ... I get really bored very quickly with men," she said.

While Carl wasn't mentioned by name, the pair have been dating for some time. In a 2010 Rolling Stone interview, the singer confessed, "I've really never loved anyone like I loved him. Or like I love him. That relationship really shaped me."

It wasn't all roses, however. In her February cover story for Vogue, Gaga was profiled on the international leg of her tour. During a candid phone conversation with her mother, she admitted, "Luc's just kind of being a baby."

Carl has a book due in 2012, "The Drunk Diet," a memoir of a year in which, according to his website, "he went from being an out of shape, bloated [jerk] to the sexiest, most delightful man on the planet."

Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas are dunzo

Ashley Green and Joe Jonas have split Seems the Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene lovefest contained in a Ministry post from Wednesday will now live in our Department of Just Kidding -- reports Thursday have the two broken up.

"It was mutual and amicable," a source close to the couple told the New York Post's Page Six of the split, which allegedly went down a few weeks ago. Jonas and Greene had dated for nearly a year.

If the split is a done deal -- reps for both stars could not be reached immediately for comment -- we're going to assume it was amicable, given that Jonas just told Details that Greene always puts his feelings first.

Jonas will now release what we can only hope is a catharsis-laden solo album. Greene has plenty to occupy herself, with a spree of movies in the hopper and "Breaking Dawn" filming.

Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds pal around on New Year's Eve

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds Looks like Sandra Bullock had a proposal Ryan Reynolds couldn't refuse — a friendly invite to spend New Year's Eve at her restaurant in Texas.

Reynolds announced his split from actress Scarlett Johansson just before the holiday rush and took himself down to Austin to hang with his costar and her friends.

"A group of old friends that included Ryan and Sandra spent New Year's together at Sandra's restaurant Bess Bistro," a Bullock rep told People. "They all had a great time ringing in the New Year as they have in the past ... as nothing more than friends."

Friends, friends, friends. We think that's the message?

Regardless, the two must be thrilled to welcome a new year (and perhaps a new project). How better to do so than as a team?

If you've got an answer, tell us in the comments section below.

David Arquette update: 'Madhouse' preview, pumpkin patch date with daughter

David Arquette split update While Courteney Cox works away on "Cougar Town," her estranged husband David Arquette is carrying on with projects and quality time with family.

Over the weekend, Arquette hosted a soft-open of "Beacher's Madhouse," the alternative variety act he's hosting for creator Jeff Beacher at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

In a private venue below the hotel lobby, which will play home to the "Madhouse" when it opens to the public in February, "90210" stars Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup celebrated their mutual birthdays with Arquette acting as emcee in a red pinstripe dinner jacket.

Arquette got some family support from sister and transsexual star Alexis Arquette, singing happy birthday to the stars and presenting them with gifts including a giant cake and Samsung Galaxy S phones. Paris and Nicky Hilton, actress Brittany Snow and "90210" costar AnnaLynne McCord attended as well.

Christina Aguilera celebrates the single life in Hawaii

Christina Aguilera After a rough two weeks in her personal life, Christina Aguilera took a mini-break a few steps above going to Disneyland: The singer and budding film actress hit tropical Hawaii to celebrate her singlehood at the opening of Ian Schrager's new resort the Edition.

After her official filing for divorce from music exec Jordan Bratman, Aguilera rounded up female pals and trusted friends such as producer Tricky Stewart for a long weekend.

On Friday evening Xtina and crew enjoyed a casual luau, calling it an early night ahead of luxuriating all day Saturday in a poolside private cabana. A magnum of Grey Goose served the party well, sliding the group into a high-brow tasting on Saturday night prepared by "Iron Chef" star Masaharu Morimoto.

"Hawaii Five-0" actress Taryn Manning played DJ for the crowd, and Aguilera chatted with the likes of Bijou Phillips and Danny Masterson between courses. Partygoers said the singer was in high spirits, rocking skin-tight Herve Leger dresses all weekend.

Other stars attending the Edition opening included Vanessa Hudgens, Rashida Jones, Shanae Grimes, "True Blood" hunk Ryan Kwanten and Amber Valletta

Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods and the lawyering of independence [poll]

Elin-nordegren-and-tiger-wo It's Independence Day, and with Sandra Bullock's divorce done and gone, the most famous woman seeking her freedom these days is Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods'  future ex-wife.

Lawyers and leakers have been hard at work on both sides. The current settlement floating for a trial-free divorce is $100 million -- that from a source TMZ says has direct knowledge of the terms of the divorce. The number is down from a $750 million guesstimate first floated by the Sun, and a $700 million possibility pondered by People.

What would Tiger get, in addition to the liberty that comes with having "cheating" turned back into "dating" or simply "booty calling"? A confidentiality clause, People and TMZ sources say, barring Elin from doing any post-divorce interviews or writing a tell-all book about their life together.

Elin Nordegren and other Swedish pop culture names According to People, Nordegren has been holding out on the confidentiality agreement as Woods offered increasingly large sums of money.

Another sticking point, reported by the Sun and People: "Elin does not want Tiger to have female friends around when he has the children," the source tells PEOPLE. "This is very important to her, and she will not give in to anything less."

Lawyers are also reportedly still hashing out custody details, which get a bit more complex when dad's a globe-trotting U.S. golf superstar and mom's clan is centered in Sweden.

Elin Nordegren's far from the only Swedish name to hit America's pop-culture radar (Think, the late Stieg Larsson). Click the picture of her to the right (it's from 2003, when she and Tiger were just dating) to launch a gallery of pictures with a certain Swedish accent.

We have a nonscientific online poll about the settlement too -- just keep reading.

Happy Monday from Mayberry, single ladies ...

Barney fife Rose A tweet from actress Rose McGowan got us Googling on Sunday night -- could you sleep if you thought there might be a mash-up out there of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and the theme from "The Andy Griffith Show"?

So, yeah, we're a little late to the party -- Party Ben put out the video at the end of 2008 -- but if this doesn't say "Happy Monday," what does? Rose's tweet was from last Wednesday; we like to think of this as "a retro vibe that just won't stop."

Enjoy. We did.
