Donald Trump not running for president, Rebecca Black not pregnant

Donald Trump not running for president; Rebecca Black not pregnant Donald Trump will not run for president of the United States, he announced Monday, only a day after 13-year-old "Friday" phenom Rebecca Black announced that she was not pregnant.

We'll pause now for a moment of silence so we can all read that previous paragraph again, shake our heads and wonder how the world is currently still spinning on its axis.

"I will not be running for president as much as I'd like to," Trump said Monday in a written statement, after teasing for months about whether he'd submit his résumé to the American people for consideration as chief exec of the free world.

The teasing by the host of "The Celebrity Apprentice" included traveling to early-primary state New Hampshire and loudly and successfully pressuring President Obama to release his long-form birth certificate.

"I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election," Trump said. "I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector."

Speaking of birth certificates, we won't be expecting a new one courtesy of Rebecca Black any time soon. The YouTube phenom is not pregnant, despite CNN's iReport website falling for a doctored picture of the 13-year-old "Friday" singer announcing that she was with child.

"I thought it was May 15th ... not April Fools Day," the teen wrote on her @MsRebeccaBlack account on Twitter. "I'm absolutely NOT pregnant."

And here we thought the full moon wasn't due until Tuesday. Go figure.

Princess Beatrice and the hat that launched a Facebook page [Poll] [Updated to include, um, commentary]

Princess Beatrice and her hat arrive at Westminster Abbey with Princess Eugenie

This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

Oh, Princess Beatrice -- the hat she presumably thought was a lovely choice for Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding turned out to be a royal disaster, prompting the scorn of thousands of Facebook users. Their hate wasn't necessarily for all hats, but rather specifically for the one perched Friday on Beatrice's high-profile head.

Princess Beatrice and her hat for the royal wedding The 22-year-old took a risk donning headgear that many thought would be more appropriate for Lady Gaga, and the risky hat choice quickly backfired for her on Facebook. Witness the emergence of "Princess Beatrice's ridiculous Royal Wedding hat," a group dedicated to her headgear that had received more than 18,000 "likes" just hours after the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Has any topper since Aretha Franklin's unforgettable inauguration hat seen such biting abuse?

Picture gallery: Royal wedding hats

Beatrice, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, stepped out at the fairy tale wedding in a sculptured ribbon topper made by London milliner Philip Treacy, a native of Ireland who trimmed the tops of dozens of guests at the wedding including Victoria Beckham, Zara Phillips and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

But when the hat-crowned Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie, 21, emerged from their ride, one comparison rang clear: The evil "Cinderella" stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella had arrived.

"She paired that disgusting hat with HORRIBLE make-up! The racoon eyes have to go! Not a fan of Eugenia's dress either! I'm sure these girls can consult a stylist, but maybe they should start with a mirror!" wrote Tara Noe Armstrong.

"Later she sets the hoop on her hat on fire and has little tigers jump through it for the amusement of the guests at the reception," added Colleen Fagan.

Princess Beatrice's hat for the royal wedding "I am a fan of Philip Treacy and I loves me some crazy hats ... but Princess Beatrice's hat wasn't the best choice for a wedding -- anyone's wedding. Anything THAT high shouldn't be that solid. It is reminiscent of overdone fondant icing -- only beige. Ew...Anyway, I do respect Bea for recycling and wearing her grandma's 1961 theatre coat. {*stifled giggles*}," mused Richard Ian Tracy.

Rough -- but not as rough on the hat as the hat was on the eyes. What'd you think of Bea's headgear? Hot or hot mess? Tell us in comments.

[Updated, 3:30 p.m. April 29, 2011: At 3 p.m. PDT Friday, just 12 hours after the royal wedding ceremony began, the Beatrice-hat Facebook page had reached more than 35,000 likes and counting. Our MOG readers had quite a few pithy words to add to the conversation as well. Here's a sampling; check out comments to see them all, or add your own.

J Crowley: Pretty sure that thing's a Stargate

shirley zager: She looks like a raccoon that mated with an octopus.

EC Hudson: It wasn't any more ridiculous that anyone else's hat - and it could double as a fun wedding reception game (toss a canape thru the loop).

John: I am currently at the eye doctor hoping he can restore my sight since I was blinded by Beatrice's bloody hat !!!!

lynn Roberts: Do they live in a house without mirrors?

Rick Baker: Those Brits like them some crazy hats, which actually is kind of unique and cool but that thing looks like the hood ornament on Santa's sleigh.

Sylvia Ubych: I thought she was a dear but when I saw the hat I thought she was more like a deer!]

[For the record, 5:32 p.m. April 29: This post originally referred to Philip Treacy as a British milliner. Though Treacy operates out of London, he was born in Ireland. Thanks to commenter @carl for flagging the gaffe.]

Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka and Danielle Staub together at last?

Danielle Staub, Jake Pavelka and Heidi Montag to star on VH1 show
Heidi Montag
and Jake Pavelka were spotted together at Café Med in West Hollywood on Tuesday. But it's not what you think. Danielle Staub was there too.

The oft-loathed reality stars — she of Speidi infamy and he of "The Bachelor" bizarro-land — were spotted alongside Staub (the also-oft-loathed New Jersey housewife) and other reality series alumni, said to make up the cast of a new VH1 show. They're supposed to get a restaurant up and running in 28 days, according to People.

So if you thought each of these reality semi-stars was cringe-inducing on his/her own, try not to imagine what they'll be like altogether. Chills.

"They are revamping a restaurant from the ground up. They started shooting this past weekend," a source told the mag.

File that under: Really?! Gordon Ramsay must be fuming with sweaty bullets of rage right about now.

What do you think of this trio? Will you watch whatever it is they're cooking up?

Ryan Murphy of 'Glee' apologizes for using f-bombs, says Kings of Leon are 'cool'

Glee's Ryan Murphy with cast

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy has made his version of an apology to the Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters after the bands wouldn't allow their music to be used on the hit show.

"I didn't speak with as much clarity as I would have liked," Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter, referring to his expletive-peppered comments about the bands in January.

Let's just say he, like the Kings of Leon, was being a poor sport.

"I completely understand when artists don't want a show or another artist to interpret their songs. In fact, I respect it," he added. "It's their personal work and I'd feel the same way. We get turned down all the time and [I] don't fight it or even go back after a rejection."

Slash and singer Bjork also passed on having their music on the show.

After Murphy's initial comments, Kings of Leon member Nathan Followill shot back at him to "buy a new bra" and get over it.  Critics deemed the language homophobic.

It's been said that Gwyneth Paltrow, a "Glee" guest star and Murphy's pal, may have brokered peace talks through a series of text messages.

Prepare for 'Kate & William,' the Lifetime movie -- then mix it up [Poll] [Video]

As the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton approaches, there are myriad collectibles to see and to buy. Now, for all you royals watchers, there's actually something to watch: a Lifetime movie.

"Kate & William," set to air April 18 on the cable channel, is "inspired by the true events of the royal courtship" — a courtship that apparently required the ingestion of a lot of wine. Camilla Luddington, below left, and Nico Evers-Swindell, below right, have been cast as the happy couple.

Check out the trailer above, and then join the Ministry in a little game of mix-and-match between art and life: If it were up to you, which two would be getting married? Having been pushed into a tacky mood by a quick review of royal wedding collectibles, and feeling rather ugly-American and superficial in general, we're in a mood to pair Kate with Nico, for hotness reasons. Or maybe Nico with Wills, just to stir the pot?

Your mileage may vary — please weigh in, in the poll below.
