Hulk Hogan sues ex-wife Linda over abuse accusations

Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) is going to court to fight back against accusations made by his ex-wife Linda that he abused her during their 24-year relationship and had a gay love affair with another wrestler.

The source of the tension is Linda Hogan's 2011 autobiography, "Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes." In the book, she claims the semiretired pro wrestler would physically abuse her, including dragging her by her hair and clothes and choking her.

Additionally, during her rounds of media interviews to promote the book, Linda hinted to an interviewer that Hogan may have had a sexual affair with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake (real name Ed Leslie). In another interview, she compared herself to Nicole Brown Simpson, slain ex-wife of O.J. Simpson.

The St. Petersburg Times reports Hogan has filed a civil suit in Clearwater, Fla., claiming the book and the interviews Linda Hogan has given have "harmed the reputation of Mr. Bollea, exposed him to distrust, hatred, contempt and ridicule."

The book and interviews could be seen as Linda's revenge for Hulk Hogan's own tell-all book "My Life Outside the Ring," published in 2009, which said Linda was an "abusive alcoholic."

The Hogans had their lives taped as part of the reality series "Hogan Knows Best," which aired from 2005 until 2007. Shortly after the cancellation of the series, Linda Hogan filed for divorce after tabloid reports surfaced that Hulk had an affair with a female friend of their daughter.

Duggar miscarriage: '19 Kids' star miscarries, plans funeral

The Duggars. Michelle Duggar has miscarried. The child would have been their 20th

Sad news for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of the TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting." Michelle has had a miscarriage. The child would have been their 20th.

"We rest in knowing that even though our child has departed this life that we will one day see each other again in heaven," the Duggars wrote on the family website.

According to Jim Bob, the news of the loss of the baby came during a routine doctor's appointment. "Michelle is resting comfortably at home with the support of the entire family," the Duggar patriarch said in a statement.

The Duggars say they plan to have a funeral service and to give the child a name once they learn what its sex would have been, according to a report in People.

"I feel like my heart broke telling my children," Michelle told the magazine. "They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms."

The couple had announced they were expecting their 20th child on the "Today" show in November. This was the Duggars' second miscarriage. The first came during Michelle's second pregnancy.

The couple's 19th child was born three months premature in December 2009. The baby spent nearly four months in the hospital before going home in April 2010, only to be readmitted two days later. The child, Josie Brooklyn Duggar, is now doing fine.

In an interview with Radar Online in May, Michelle said, "We would love more!... I'm 43 almost 44 this September, I know that my mommy years are probably numbered and I don't know how many more children God will see fit to give me."

The couple said at that time they were considering adopting.

Kim Kardashian's Thanksgiving mission to help those in need

Kim Kardashian left her trouble with Kris Humphries at home when she stepped out for a good cause  Wednesday. The reality star took time out of her busy schedule to give back to the community by serving food at the Los Angeles Mission Thanksgiving Dinner.

And she wasn’t the only star spreading good cheer; Jennifer Love Hewitt, Zoe Saldana and Kirk Douglas also helped out at the annual event.

Volunteering around the holidays is nothing new to Kim. She told Showbiz 411, “My parents used to take us here when we were little and different places across L.A. to give back, so I’m kind of following the tradition.”

So what does Thanksgiving really mean to Kim during this difficult time?

"I think the holidays are just about winding down and spending time with your family," she explained to People magazine. "That's what it's going to be about this year for me."

After serving gravy over mashed potatoes, Kim was off to prep for her own Thanksgiving dinner with family.

"We're each cooking a dish, bringing it over and just hanging out," she said to the mag. "I'm going to make the sweet potato soufflé," she shares. "It's really good!"

Kim Kardashian aims to rehab image with 'Kourtney & Kim'

Kim Kardashian is ready for a little image rehab and she’s hoping “Kourtney & Kim Take New York” will help.

Sure, there were reports that Kim didn't want her divorce drama to play out on reality television, but what about all that footage of the couple before the split? Radar Online says, with full editorial control, she wants to edit the new season to her advantage and that the show will paint Kim as the “victim” and ex Kris Humphries as a “lazy and insensitive” villain.

In fact, a source tells the site that it was actually raw footage of the pair that convinced her to file for divorce in the first place. “The marriage was already under a tremendous amount of stress, but she just couldn't believe that she had married this man that was treating her and her family like this."

A little image rehab could do Kim some good.

Soon after she filed for divorce Oct. 31, critics began calling her marriage a sham, “Saturday Night Live” poked fun with a “Kim’s Fairytale Divorce” sketch and her former publicist began claiming her wedding was staged. Not to mention grassroots boycotts to get the whole family booted off television and the angry fans calling for her to be fired from Tyler Perry’s “The Marriage Counselor.”

Now, Radar sources say she’ll do anything to get back in the public’s good graces and keep her many endorsement deals.

“Kim carefully and methodically plans all of her business decisions, and that is how she is looking at her divorce, as all business,” says the source. “Of course she is sad, but it's all about Kim's endorsement deals and paid promotional appearances.”

Despite Kim’s troubles and the boycott, the rest of her family seems to be doing just fine. Since she filed for divorce, sisters Kourtney and Khloe debuted a novel called “Dollhouse,” while mom Kris Jenner released her memoir “Kris Jenner and All Things Kardashian.” Meanwhile little brother Rob is competing in the ‘Dancing With the Stars” finals.

Duggars expecting baby No. 20; congrats, horror, finale ensue

The Duggar family, without kids No. 19 or 20

Michelle Duggar is pregnant with her 20th child, an announcement she and the whole "19 Kids and Counting" family made Tuesday morning on "Today" in an appearance during which she noted that her offspring would eventually number "however many the Lord sees fit to give us."

TLC, in promoting Tuesday night's finale of its "19 Kids and Counting," released this from the proud mother:

"Jim Bob and I are excited to announce that we're pregnant with baby number 20. We're due in April and I'm feeling great. All of the children are thrilled and we're looking forward to welcoming this precious new addition to our family."

The birth of a 20th baby from one set of parents is bound to raise some eyebrows -- or drop some jaws and spur some expressions of horror.  Add to the total number of children these tidbits: Mom is 45; the last Duggar addition -- born in December 2009, three months early and at 1 pound, 6 ounces -- began life in a neonatal intensive care unit; and the size of the family and its continued growth are the basis for a reality show.

On Tuesday, tweets included the unkind variety --  "sick," "stupid" and "out of control" -- as well as the what-did-they-ever-do-to-you variety -- "You are not impacted by them procreating."  And then there was the innocuous: "Have they not run out of names starting with J?"  (The kids are: Joshua, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie.)

There were wonders about what's best for Mom -- "Is she putting her health at risk?' -- and the new baby -- "Your last baby hardly made it, why take the risk again?"

There was this from Men's Health fashion and grooming director Brian Boye:  "Interesting side note: my cousin who's my age went to school w/the mom. That's lots of kids for 45."

Brian, that's a lot of kids for any age.

But let's put this in perspective. Although 20 may seem impressive, Mrs. Jim Bob Duggar is certainly no Mrs. Feodor Vassilyev.

The wife of Feodor Vassilyev, as she's known in the Guinness Book of Records, had 27 pregnancies that, thanks to multiples, resulted in 69 children. Then there's Chilean woman Leontina Albina, who is said to have given birth to baby No. 55 in 1981.

Kim Kardashian wants to keep her divorce drama off reality TV

Kim Kardashian in Australia

Kim Kardashian doesn't want her divorce from Kris Humphries turned into fodder for "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" or even an E! special.

Sources close to the family tell TMZ she won't have this painful time exploited for reality TV.

Whether or not the cameras have been rolling, Kim plans to acknowledge the split when she resumes shooting "Kardashians" early next year. Just don't expect to see any ugly divorce drama play out on TV, the site says. Her wedding to Humphries was happily turned into a two-part special, with a rerun of part one running the day she filed for divorce.

Meanwhile, more breakup details continue to surface. People's sources say that the idea of divorce had "been on her mind a lot lately" and "she was completely torn." Apparently, the decision was "last-minute," and it was the timing that threw off Humphries the most.

"He found out about the divorce papers via the Internet," a source told the mag. "He thought they were going through troubling times and a really tough situation but he thought they would figure it out."

Kim filed for divorce Monday, just 72 days after the couple’s splashy wedding. Since then, haters have been calling the marriage a sham and a "showmance," but Kim denies the accusations.

"I am trying not to read all the different media reports but it’s hard not to see all the negative ones," Kim wrote Tuesday on her personal blog. "First and foremost, I married for love. I can't believe I even have to defend this. I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show!"

Kate Gosselin goes from TV star to (gasp!) part-time blogger

Kate Gosselin

Kate Gosselin can ease up on the "freaking out": The out-of-work reality star has a job now -- a part-time gig, at least.

Gosselin, whose "Kate Plus 8" reality show took its last breath in September, will be a contributing blogger for click-and-save website Coupon Cabin.

"I've never quit a job in my life without having something else lined up," she told People at the time. "I don't know what's next." She had been considering going back to nursing, but didn't see how that was going to allow her to provide for her eight kidlets.

(Note: Kate confirmed Monday on "The View" that a return to nursing was a no-go, as she'd found her calling on TV. She was, at the time, dressed as a zombie.)

Turns out her path from no money to mo' money will be paved in part with what she calls "free money."

"No matter what your financial situation is, there's no reason not to use coupons," she said in a statement this week. "It's like free money in your pocket! I'm thrilled to lend my expertise."

Her first day on the job is Nov. 22, when she'll discuss how to navigate Black Friday shopping. Using, we assume, coupons -- which she might want to get used to, if she's going to live off a blogger's paycheck.

Kim Kardashian divorce: Sham-wedding accusations sting

Kim Kardashian arrives in Sydney

Even folks who couldn't care less about the Kardashian family have been intrigued by the possibility: Was Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kris Humphries a sham? Simply a "showmance," arranged for the reality-TV cameras?

Alas, bandwagon Kardashian fans: On the record, most people are swearing the kids' short-lived wedded bliss was for real. Of course, many of those people are on the Kardashian side of things.

"I am trying not to read all the different media reports but it’s hard not to see all the negative ones," Kim wrote on her personal blog Tuesday. "First and foremost, I married for love. I can’t believe I even have to defend this. I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show!"

She blamed her overwhelming desire for all the stuff normal mortals have ("I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon.") and, well, she kind of blamed the normal mortals in the audience, saying she was so "caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn't know how to and didn't want to disappoint a lot of people." Later, unnamed sources surfaced courtesy of TMZ to allege she was also blaming her in-laws, telling friends that they hated her and had been nasty.

Technically, Kim apologized broadly, if an "I'm-sorry-but" counts: "I'm sorry if I have hurt anyone," she wrote, "but my dad always told me to follow my heart and I believe now that I really am."

She also asked that her courage be respected as she goes through this difficult time, which finds her at a nightclub in Sydney, Australia, promoting a new line of Kardashian Kollection handbags with sister Khloe.

(Khloe Kardashian would be the sister Kathie Lee Gifford said walked by at the wedding reception and whispered to her, "I give it six ... months.")

Kim Kardashian wastes no time, will divorce Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian files for divorce from Kris Humphries

This post has been corrected, as detailed below. Kim Kardashian divorce is true.

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries on Monday morning, citing "irreconcilable differences" after only 72 days of what appears to be a waste of a perfectly good wedding.

Maybe they should have gone on a better honeymoon?

Kardashian was spotted out in New York on Saturday night, Halloween partying at Lavo as the sexy yet villainous Poison Ivy character of Batman-comics fame -- notably sans Humphries. The elegantly brief divorce papers (obtained by TMZ) were filed Monday morning in Los Angeles, listing high-profile divorce lawyer Laura Wasser as Kimmy's attorney. Yes, Virginia, there was a prenup.

Photos: Celebrity marriages that didn't last for long

Kardashian's rep did not immediately respond to a Ministry request Monday for confirmation and comment.

With unnamed sources saying last week that Humphries was "not drinking the Kardashian Kool-Aid," Rob Kardashian took it upon himself to defend his sister's happiness (though not necessarily the strength of her marriage). The dealbreaker, according to TMZ, may have been geographic incompatibility. She wanted to stay "in town" for her career, he was looking forward to settling down in his home state of Minnesota. Funny how most folks work that out before the $10-million wedding?

Humphries and Kardashian briefly honeymooned for paparazzi on Italy's Amalfi Coast, then moved into a three-bedroom suite with sis Kourtney, her boyfriend Scott Disick and their 22-month-old son to film the second season of "Kim &  Kourtney Take New York."

"We have to find our home base," Kardashian told People at her 31st birthday celebration in Las Vegas, just a week ago Saturday.

So, yeah, take that off the to-do list -- along with the kissing and hand-holding and hanging with the in-laws that she and Humphries were doing in the VIP area at the Cosmopolitan nightclub that night.

Here at the Ministry, we like to think it's all part of a carefully designed career arc in which Kim sets herself up as the next Zsa Zsa Gabor, who is essentially famous for being famous, and has been married nine times, with seven divorces and one annulment, winding up with Prince Frederick von Anhalt, for better or worse.

After divorcing music producer Damon Thomas after four years and prepping to split from Humphries, she's off to a rolling start. Zsa Zsa never had a Twitter trend like this one: "#ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage."

For those keeping score, the two started dating last December and were engaged by May. They married on Aug. 20 in Montecito. With California's 60-day minimum to get a simple divorce finalized, this could theoretically be wrapped up in time for the newlyweds to have completely new dates for New Year's Eve.

[For the record, 12:39 p.m. Oct. 31: This post originally had Kim and Kris married for 42 days, not 72. Blame our fat fingers?]

Giuliana Rancic, 36, reveals breast cancer discovered during IVF

Giuliana Rancic has breast cancer

Giuliana Rancic revealed Monday that she has early-stage breast cancer — then went out of her way to thank husband Bill Rancic for letting her cry, and the baby she doesn't yet have for most likely saving her life.

E! Entertainment host Giuliana and original "The Apprentice" winner Bill have been trying to get pregnant through in vitro fertilization, a journey chronicled on their reality show, "Giuliana & Bill." After two failed IVF attempts, Giuliana Rancic ended the show's most recent season by heading back for a third round of fertility treatments.

This time, however, one doctor insisted the 36-year-old get a mammogram first, she said Monday on the "Today" show.

"He said, 'I will not get you pregnant' " without ruling out her small risk of breast cancer, " 'because if you get pregnant it will accelerate the cancer, all the hormones will accelerate the cancer,' " said an emotional Rancic. She said she fought the idea at first, as she hadn't planned on getting that type of scan until the recommended age, 40.

She went ahead with the egg retrieval portion of the IVF treatment, as well as the scan. And then the bad news came.

"They called me the next day and told me, 'We need to you to come back, we see something.' " The Rancics have since put off a third attempt to get pregnant until after she's completed her treatment, which will include surgery this coming week and then 6½ weeks of radiation.

After praising her husband for supporting her and letting her cry when she needs to cry, she also thanked the baby they hope to have in the future. "I truly believe that God was looking out for me," she said, and that there was some sort of "master plan" behind the failure of her previous IVF attempts, including one that ended in a miscarriage after eight weeks.

"I'm not going to give up," Rancic said. "I want that baby. That baby will have saved my life."
