After Miranda Kerr and Rachel Zoe, the pressure's on Kate Hudson to lose that baby fat already, would ya?

KerrKate Hudson is expecting! Evangeline Lilly has a bun in the oven! Mariah Carey is pregnant with just the precious-est twins ever!

Uh, yay?

Preach It! has never managed to summon the proper amount of glee when a star gets knocked up. We get it: We’re the celebrity gossip media; we’re supposed to go squee! and trot out phrases like “baby bumpin’!” and “baby joy!” and run photos of “beautifully pregnant” and “glowing” starlets shopping for tiny clothes at boutiques no one else can afford.

But maybe we’re less than enthused because of what’s happening -- with increasing speed -- after these kids arrive. We speak, of course, of mommy’s weight loss. The media tend to use the cutesy phrase “body after baby” -- the impossible size-2-to-0 figure that starlets are expected to reclaim in less time than it takes for a Gabor to drop a fur coat onto a divan.

Usually, we’re talking a pretty tight weight-loss window: A few months, perhaps. Miranda Kerr, for example, is looking pretty much the way she used to after four months of motherhood.

But that “body after baby” time frame appears to be, well, shrinking. After initially lying about her pregnant state, celebu-stylist Rachel Zoe eventually gave birth to a boy last month. Fast-forward three weeks, and Zoe is padding around Los Angeles looking as scrawny as she was in her heyday. How do we know? Because of the headlines, of course.

“Rachel Zoe Shows Off Her Post-Baby Body,” SocialiteLife simpered.

“Rachel Zoe is skinny again,” is how Hollyscoop put it.

And, per the stiffer upper lips of Britain’s Daily Mail: “Rachel Zoe regains her slender form just three weeks after giving birth.”

At this rate, we’ll be demanding that Hudson drop her weight before she even pops out that baby.

Forgive us if we fail to squee.

Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman welcome baby boy Skylar

Rachel Zoe has a baby boy with Rodger Berman For Rachel Zoe, "bananas" will now likely refer to baby food instead outstanding fashion choices: The stylist and mini-mogul has a new baby boy.

Reports had style maven Zoe in labor on Tuesday, with husband Rodger Berman by her side at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The baby's name is Skylar Morrison Berman, according to People.

"Mom and Dad 'LITERALLY' could not be happier or more in love with their son!" the pair said in a statement on Thursday.

The little guy clocked in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and about 20 inches long. Helpful info for the legion big-name designers that might want to send him some gifts -- we envision Lacoste baby polos, Varvatos/Converse kicks and a sterling Tiffany rattle.

Congrats to the new family!

Madonna, Elton John, Quentin Tarantino and more hit Soho House for a star-packed pre-Oscar party in WeHo

Madonna And they call this a soft open?

Soho House held a preview party Thursday night in West Hollywood, receiving an embarrassment of bold names at its newest venue. The members-only club, which has outposts already in London and New York, partnered with Grey Goose to open its doors to Madonna, Elton John, Quentin Tarantino, Natalie PortmanHarvey Weinstein, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Kellan Lutz, Rachel Zoe, Josh Hartnett, and Clive Owen.

If only the Academy Awards could bring out better celebs (insert appropriately ironic sound effect here).

The stars gathered in the penthouse of the exclusive Sunset Boulevard property to celebrate Sunday's big show and raise awareness for RADD, aka "the entertainment industry's voice for road safety." The select, wall-to-wall crowd snacked on steak tartare and Champagne in the redesigned space that the club had rented for a week of sneak-peek Oscars parties in 2008.

Maggie Gyllenhaal chatted on the balcony with Topher Grace, while a newly single Ryan Phillippe bobbed and weaved through a crowd that also included Joaquin Phoenix, James CameronEmile Hirsch, Ben Silverman, Rosanna ArquetteMatt Dillon and Guy Oseary

Madge, clad in a silver top and black fur-lined coat, hit it off with "Star Trek" and "Heroes" star Zachary Quinto. The two were so chummy they carried their lovefest from the balcony to a table inside.

Christina Hendricks, Rachel Zoe (and Barbie) give Divine Design some va va voom!

Rachelbrad Now we know where celeb stylist Rachel Zoe gets some of her paparazzi-friendly pizazz.

At Project Angel Food's Divine Design gala Thursday night, she introduced an honoree who’s one of her idols, a star still going strong at 50, with an age-defying face and figure that would stand out even in plastic Hollywood: Barbie.

“I mean, is there anyone better?” Zoe mused out loud to the crowd. “Is there anything cooler? I don’t think so.”

Time for a math break. In her book “Forever Barbie,” M.G. Lord calculated that if the doll was blown up to human size, she’d have an 18-inch waist, about the size of Scarlett O’Hara’s with a corset. And as for Rachel’s proportions?

Well, the book on that hasn’t been written yet, but it’s probably safe to assume that lunch isn’t big on anyone’s schedule here.

Accepting Divine Design’s Fashion Icon award for Barbie was Mattel’s dapper Chief Executive Richard Dickson, who patted the company on the back for the doll's longevity. “It’s not easy to keep a 50-year-old brand relevant, especially when she’s only 11 inches tall,” he said.

“But so hot,” Zoe added.

Even rarer than hotness in Hollywood?

Arty or party? The stars divide at MOCA's 30th birthday

Frangaga

The transformative power of art has nothing on the transformative power of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie -- who turned L.A.'s Museum of Contemporary Art's 30th anniversary gala into a contender for social event of the decade Saturday night.

Brad-and-Angie-ENT MOCA trustees and tons of bold names stepped out for shmoozing and a much-hyped performance art piece from Francesco Vezzoli, the center of which was Lady Gaga unveiling her new single "Speechless."

We were mostly speechless over the sheer star presence, like at Grey Goose vodka's pre-ceremony cocktail hour -- where Guy Ritchie worked the room solo swilling a martini, French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld pouted and Kate Beckinsale allowed passers-by to watch as she radiated insane beauty.

Below the bash's elevated bar was the heavily curated anniversary art collection, which required, before viewing, that any booze be checked at the door. Quelle horreur!

The brave names ditching their bubbly for art's sake: Chloe Sevigny, Eva Mendes, Zoe Saldana, Diablo Cody, Neil Patrick Harris and James Franco.

Those who preferred to stay on the surface to sip?

'New Moon' star Dakota Fanning probably kicks Rachel Zoe's butt at Nintendo DS

ZoedakOur friends over at All the Rage report that actress Dakota Fanning and stylist Rachel Zoe recently got together at the Madison boutique on Third Street in L.A. -- to play Nintendo DS.

Why Nintendo? Because there's a new game out, Style Savvy, in which players get to operate a perfectly fabulous clothing boutique.

Why Rachel? She's been known to suggest a perfectly fabulous outfit or two for her celebrity clientele.

And why Dakota? Well, despite a resume that stretches around the block, the elder Fanning prodigy is reportedly still a child, and isn't that what These Kids Today do, sit around and do nothing but play video games?

Said Dakota, the "New Moon" newbie who is also a high school cheerleader and was just named a homecoming princess: "Usually video games are more action packed -- more masculine -- so, no. I’m really girly; this is the first time I’m interested."

Don't be alarmed by that ripping sound.

We'll get the space-time continuum fixed up for ya right quick.
