Pippa Middleton caught up in Paris gun-wielding incident

Pippa Middleton

First it was Pippa Middleton's buns, but now it's a gun that's got the eyes of the world trained on the sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Pippa was photographed in Paris on Sunday in a car with with three male friends, the driver brandishing what appeared to be a semiautomatic pistol at a photographer allegedly shadowing their Audi on a moped, London's the Sun reported. One of the images the pap's camera caught? A look straight down the barrel, with Pippa riding -- appropriately enough -- shotgun.

Those pictures were allegedly turned over to Paris judicial police as part of a formal complaint that has been made, the Daily Mail reported, though a decision has not yet been made on whether to involve an examining magistrate.

See the pics here, courtesy of the Sun, which reported that police were "poised" to launch an investigation into the incident.

Brandishing a gun, real or fake, is illegal in France, according to GunPolicy.org, which cites specific French laws regarding firearms. A recent murder spree in Toulouse, France, that resulted in seven deaths has heightened calls for firearms-possession enforcement in a country that has no 2nd Amendment.

In January, Middleton took legal action against the paparazzi in Britain, sending letters to a half-dozen photographic agencies syndicating on behalf of the paps and warning them that the photogs' behavior constituted harassment, according to the Daily Mail, which reported that up to 400 paparazzi pictures of the royals' relative were being sent to media outlets on any given day.

The Mail said that most British newspapers use such images only rarely, but that their practice hardly dents a global market for all things Pippa in magazines and online.

The incident occurred just hours after Middleton's 6 a.m. departure from a "fancy dress party" to mark the 29th birthday of Paris fashion entrepreneur Arthur de Soultrait, the Mail said, while the royal sister-in-law was being driven to catch a train back to London.

If the gun is real, the incident could carry a penalty of up to seven years in jail for everyone in the car -- or two years if it's a fake.

"If the evidence points to her involvement, she will be prosecuted," a source told the Sun regarding Middleton. "Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation."

Paris is the city where Princess Diana died in 1997 after being chased by paparazzi. Had she lived, Diana, mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, would have been Catherine's mother-in-law.

Duchess Kate preps for first royal Christmas with William, queen

Kate Middleton is prepping for her first Royal Christmas

It's a very Duchess Catherine Christmas! Or it will be, as the former Kate Middleton gets ready to spend her first royal holiday with husband Prince William and his family.

Family being Her Majesty the Queen and husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, plus Wills' father Charles, Prince of Wales, with bride Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. And don't forget our quick-footed favorite, Prince Harry.

Sadly, the Middletons and Kate's sister Pippa won't be on the guest list at storied Sandringham House in Norfolk, England, where the queen has long retreated for her holidays. In-laws are not invited for the festivities.

Among the traditions are a royal hunt, black-tie dinners and even a gift exchange. The demanding schedule requires costume changes and impeccable timing -- or, in other words, the tests will keep coming for Kate.

"It will be a difficult baptism in protocol laced with pitfalls. ... She's first the first outsider since Camilla ... so all eyes will be on her," Robert Jobson, a Ministry-tested royals expert, told Us Weekly.

If we were Kate, we wouldn't sweat the holidays with her new family. After passing her first royal tour of duty with flying colors, some present-wrapping and figgy pudding with the queen should be a breeze.

How Pippa Middleton's backside appreciation began: exclusive video

Pippa Middleton

Pippa Middleton captured worldwide attention as her sister Kate Middleton's maid of honor in April -- and while she didn't tack on a royal title at the time, she's easily become one of the world's most eligible bachelorettes.

Now TLC is giving Pippa the hourlong treatment with its in-depth "Crazy for Pippa" special. The Ministry has an exclusive clip from the show, highlighting one of Pippa's best assets.

On that fateful April day when Kate emerged from a chauffeured car in her white Alexander McQueen wedding gown, Pippa wasn't far behind, set to carry the bride's train in her own cream-colored McQueen dress -- and the behind-of-honor instantly set off a frenzy.

An appreciation society devoted to Pippa's posterior was created on Facebook by rear-end enthusiast Mike Bandar "before she even got in the church."

"We were all thinking exactly the same thing, that she was absolutely stunning. I posted it on a few of the other pages -- like the Pippa Middleton official public figure page -- and from then it just went mental," Bandar said.

The page has almost 240,000 fans. See the clip below. "Crazy for Pippa" airs at 9 p.m. Tuesday on TLC.

Prince William and Catherine catch 'Bridesmaids' on a movie date

Prince William and Catherine have a date night

Though William and Catherine are well settled back in their home country since their Hollywood visit, they kept movie magic alive for a date night Saturday — taking in a screening of "Bridesmaids."

The comedy starring Kristen Wiig, noted for its bold lady gross-out moments, was screened by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their nearest cinema: Llandudno Junction multiplex, roughly 40 miles from their home in Anglesey.

"My friend from Uni has just seen Prince William and Kate Middleton in my local cinema," one excited royal watcher tweeted — and more than one local noticed.

While reports suggest William wanted to see "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," his bride won out (though "Bridesmaids' " funny business surely held his interest). We're guessing there was no correlation between Maya Rudolph's big-screen band of misfits and Kate's own maid of honor, Pippa Middleton

But we can dream.

Pippa Middleton is single! Kate's sister is back on the market

Pippa Middleton is single. This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

Pippa Middleton has remained in demand since her sister Kate's tiny, low-profile wedding in April — but now she's super available.

The brunet is back on the playing field after splitting from boyfriend Alex Loudon, a slew of reports say.

Loudon, a former cricket player and current investment banker, escorted the younger Middleton sister to the royal wedding of Prince William to the woman now known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. It would seem there's no longer a seat for Loudon at the banquet table, however.

"Pippa has become very high profile, and it's put a strain on things," a source close to Loudon told the U.K.'s Sun. "They're moving in different circles."

The report indicates the pair will remain good friends, natch.

So what will Pippa do next?

It's hard to avoid that Pip has been spending quite a bit of time with former college boyfriend George Percy — described as "fabulously wealthy" and also the son of the duke of Northumberland.

Pippa Middleton and George Percy Though stateside, a current or former athlete could certainly make for decent dating material; we dare say a close-to-titled fella such as George is more the speed of a Middleton sister these days.

What do you expect from Pippa's love life? Tell us in comments.

[For the record, 6:56 p.m. June 13: This post originally referred to Loudon as a former rugby player. Pippa's ex played cricket.]

Pippa Middleton's Spanish holiday with ex-boyfriend George Percy

Pippa Middleton spent a weekend in Spain with ex boyfriend George Percy Pippa Middleton pandemonium rages on weeks after the royal wedding, as the sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, gets back to normal life following the occasion -- with normal life including a sexy little jaunt to Spain with former boyfriend George Percy

Pip, dubbed P-Middy by the U.K. newspapers, was spotted several times in Madrid over the weekend, partying with pals and ex Percy. The two were roommates at the University of Edinburgh.

Pippa stepped out Friday in a beige skirt and heels to Madrid nightspot the Penthouse -- an evening that raged until 4 a.m. Saturday, People magazine said. The athletic brunette was also reportedly seen at restaurant Fortuny with a bottle of Champagne in her handbag.

It wasn't all dark rooms and dancing as Pippa, Percy and a crew of friends enjoyed sightseeing during their days. The ex-lovers were even photographed in a rowboat at landmark Retiro Park.

Middleton is currently dating former athlete Alex Loudon, an investment banker, who spent his weekend in London.
