Paris Hilton, Cy Waits look at engagement rings -- and she has an app for that

Paris Hilton and Cy Waits might get engaged Engagement rumors are swirling around Paris Hilton and boyfriend Cy Waits since they were spotted shopping for engagement rings in New York last Friday.

The lovey-dovey twosome, dating for about a year, have been repeatedly photographed locking lips while Hilton travels to promote her new iPhone app. (The Ministry has discovered that the completely gratuitous app inserts the heiress into photos, tells you if you're "hot or not" and provides news and quizzes about Paris. Not sure if that's fab or frightening.)

Love has been on the celebutante's mind. When David Letterman asked her what was missing in the lives of Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan -- who like Paris have had their share of run-ins with the law -- she said "true love."

Barf. Watch the hilarious full interview after the jump.

She also told the prickly host that she plans to start a family in the next decade that will amount to three or four kids.

It's pretty obvious she's smitten with Waits, 35, who waited (im)patiently for her backstage at the "Late Show" and planned her Moulin Rouge-themed 30th birthday party. He also bought her a Lexus LFA -- and the spending spree didn't stop there.

"They shopped for engagement rings," a source told People. "They were really cute together. Paris was making comments about the rings and joking that her ring has to be at least 24 carats."

But Hilton and Waits left the luxury Jacobs & Co. with a different kind of ring: a $25,000 white gold and black diamond encrusted bauble. Not too shabby, eh?

Her rep told the mag that they were shopping for "something special" for her birthday. We guess the Lexus wasn't enough. Maybe he was trying to make up for the stolen $3,200 absinthe-laced cake?

The tiny-dog-toting Hilton, currently on probation after pleading guilty to obstruction and cocaine possession, celebrated her big day multiple times in multiple cities, including Los Angeles and New York.

But it isn't all Champagne kisses and caviar dreams for these lovebirds.

Waits has an Aug. 22 court date to face felony criminal charges stemming from a traffic stop in which police reported a "vapor trail" of marijuana wafting from the couple's black Cadillac Escalade. That same traffic stop landed Hilton in trouble as well.

He was subsequently dropped as managing partner at Wynn and Encore's Tryst and XS nightclubs because of the charges. No wonder his loving lover plugged his new company on Letterman.

You know what they say: The couple that allegedly breaks the law together stays together. Best wishes, kiddos.

David Arquette, Chris Brown heat up Us Hot Hollywood bash

David-arquette-us-party As often as they appear in the pages of Us Weekly, stars like Chris Brown and David Arquette were not spotlighted by the magazine Thursday night for hitting up Starbucks, or for a romantic drama, or for the occasional legal battle. Rather, the mag invited the men and a slew of other celebs out to celebrate giving back.

Held at Hollywood's Colony, the annual Us Hot Hollywood party had a "Stars Who Care" theme. Brown, who was recently given gold stars for a well-behaved year-plus on probation, came with male pals and kept it low key.

Just a few feet away, Arquette, an honoree for his work with Feeding America, had a considerably more exciting time -- the actor danced and drank enthusiastically, stripping off his yellow shirt and getting down in a tank top and suspenders.

On the open-air patio, Katie Cassidy chatted with girlfriends at a table beside Whitney Port; Kimora Lee Simmons enjoyed a smoke break with Nicky Hilton; and Channing Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan mingled.

Other honorees included singer Colbie Caillet, Olivia Wilde, Ke$ha, and Kelly and Sharon Osbourne.

Seth MacFarlane hosts an Evening Affair, starring Rumer Willis and her new beau from 'Glee'

Rumer-willis-new-boyfriend How can you say no to a Beverly Hills bash thrown by $100-million-dollar man Seth MacFarlane? You can't, and neither could the luminaries who attended his Evening Affair over the weekend, presented by Night Vision Entertainment.

Kate Walsh, Bill Maher, Winona Ryder, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Molly Ringwald, Rashida Jones, Jeremy Piven, Chris Tucker, Stephen Dorff and David Arquette were among the partiers who came to catch MacFarlane on Saturday in his performing glory, with the help of a full orchestra.

Buzz around the bash was all about celeb-spawn Rumer Willis, who showed up with new "Glee" guy Chord Overstreet on her arm. Recently split from actor Micah Alberti, Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, wasn't shy at all about showing her affections for Overstreet.

"They held hands and shared kisses all night," an onlooker tells The Ministry.

After tearing up the dance floor, Walsh slipped off her high heels and chatted with Rose McGowan, while Ringwald bonded over Camacho cigars with Cuba Gooding Jr.

Mark Salling, also of "Glee," took in an acrobatic performance with Emmy winner Aaron Paul, sipping Svedka cocktails and lingering into the wee hours of Sunday.

Paris Hilton and Cy Waits going strong, attend Nicky Hilton's birthday

Paris-hilton-cy-waits In Hollywood, true love can often be measured by how many public-relations nightmares a couple survives.

In that case, it seems Paris Hilton and her former Wynn employee beau Cy Waits are going strong -- the couple attended a birthday party for the heiress' sister Nicky on Saturday.

At West Hollywood's Trousdale, Hilton and Waits joined Nicky and her longtime boyfriend David Katzenberg in the club's private back room. Katzenberg's movie honcho dad, Jeffrey, joined in celebrating, as did Olympian Shaun White and actor Zach Braff.

Waits was driving on the evening Hilton was detained for drug possession, and recently the couple got into an accident involving paparazzi outside of Boa steakhouse.

Such drama wasn't found at the birthday bash, however, with the crowd belting out the "Happy Birthday" song to Hilton over a specialty cake, designed to look like stacks of pink and blue jewelry boxes.

Reality TV alert: Paris Hilton gets some Oxygen

paris hilton oxygen reality show Aw, Paris Hilton. Fresh off her whirlwind tour of the Japanese customs station, our little socialite-who-could has gone and gotten herself a brand new reality show TV show on Oxygen network. You know, in the hopes of showing the world she's not the ditzy heiress she's made out to be in the press or was way back when in "The Simple Life."

Quoteth a source in the New York Post: "This isn't 'The Simple Life,' where she played a campy version of herself. This show will give viewers a glimpse of the real Paris and her life, which is sometimes quite amazing."

Right.

Sorry if we sound jaded, but does this kinda sound like it has disaster written all over it? Still, is it disaster in Kardashian train-wreck, oh-no-can't-avert-my-eyes, best-way-to-cope-with-a-weekend-hangover kinda way?

What do you think? Will you watch? Share in the comments.

Adrian Grenier says leave paparazzi bait Paris Hilton alone

Paris-hilton-grenier-paparazzo

Japan may have bounced Paris Hilton, but she has safe passage with actor Adrian Grenier.

The "Entourage" star premiered his new documentary "Teenage Paparazzo," which heavily features the heiress and entrepreneur in a larger discussion of celebrity culture, in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

"Leave Paris alone, is what I say," Grenier told us. "I don't know the details of her case, but I wish her the best."

Grenier was inspired to make his second documentary after meeting Austin Visschedyk, then a 14-year-old working as a paparazzo in Los Angeles. Home-schooled, snarky and working as late as 3 a.m. chasing the likes of Lindsay Lohan, the boy grabbed Grenier's interest.

"I was coming home one night and I was photographed by this kid and I thought, this paparazzi culture has just -- there's something rotten in Denmark," he said.

Japan just says no to Paris Hilton and her drug conviction

Paris-hilton-narita

Paris-hilton-narita2 Paris Hilton is on her way home from Japan after being denied entry because of her guilty pleas to drug-possession charges in Las Vegas on Monday. Hilton was questioned for about six hours over two days, an immigration official said.

"About to take off. Going home now," she tweeted just after midnight Los Angeles time. "So dissappointed to miss my fans in Asia. I promise to come back soon. I love you all! Love Paris xoxo."

Hilton's rep said the socialite was "forced to postpone" a business tour through Asia that included stops in Tokyo, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Paris never made it out of Narita, Japan, where she spent the night in an airport hotel. She was supposed to appear Wednesday at a fashion show in Tokyo's trendy Roppongi district, but the event was canceled.

Report: Immigation officials stop Paris Hilton in Japan

Paris-hilton-waits-in-court

What happens in Vegas doesn't necessarily stay in Vegas, apparently, if what happened was a drug conviction.

Paris Hilton hopped on a jet and headed for Asia on Monday after entering guilty pleas in her Las Vegas cocaine arrest -- but she hasn't gotten as far as she had intended.

Upon arrival at an airport in Japan, Hilton was detained by immigration officials for questioning about her drug conviction, TMZ reports; she was reportedly allowed to stay at an airport hotel until the situation is resolved.

The heiress planned to stop in Tokyo on Wednesday; travel to Jakarta, Indonesia, on Friday for a store opening; and wrap up her trip in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, People reports. Why leave ...

Paris Hilton pleads guilty to drug possession, obstruction [poll]

Paris-hilton-in-court

Paris Hilton pleaded guilty in a Las Vegas court on Monday to misdemeanor charges of possession of cocaine and obstructing an officer and received one year of probation, a $2,000 fine and 200 hours of community service. If she violates that probation, she will serve one year behind bars in the Clark County Detention Center, Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure said.

She confessed to having 0.8 gram of cocaine in her purse the night of Aug. 27, then admitted she'd lied to police about the purse not being hers.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal has video of Hilton facing the judge and pleading guilty here.

Hilton is reportedly telling friends she's taking the situation very seriously, TMZ sources say, and is "over being a party girl" and ready to "finally grow up."

The deal, which was announced Friday, reduced the drug charge from a felony to ...

Paris Hilton cuts a deal in felony drug possession case

Paris-hilton-mtv-movie-awar Paris Hilton's felony drug possession charge related to her recent arrest in Las Vegas has been dealt down to two misdemeanor counts -- drug possession and obstructing an officer -- for which she'll serve a year's probation, perform 200 hours of community service and pay a $2,000 fine, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Had the charge remained a felony, the paper says, Hilton still would not have done jail time on a first offense. If arrested during her probation period, she'll be sentenced to a year in jail in Nevada.

"If she is arrested for anything besides a minor traffic violation she will spend a year in jail," Clark County Dist. Atty. David Roger said Friday. "There will be no discussion. The court will have no discretion."

The added obstruction charge resulted from Hilton's assertion to police that the purse in which cocaine was found did not belong to her.

Hilton, 29, and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, 34, were arrested Aug. 27 on the Vegas Strip on their way home from the Encore's XS nightclub, where Waits was a managing partner. Charged with driving under the influence, he has since lost the XS job, and both parties have been banned from Wynn properties, including the Encore.

In 2007, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving and served 23 days in Los Angeles County jail.
