Jessica Biel grills Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr on having a baby

Jessica Biel at the Golden Globes

Jessica Biel might be keeping mum on her maybe-engagement to Justin Timberlake, but she's not shy when it comes to her curiosity about other folks' families.

At Sunday's Golden Globes, the actress was queued up at arrivals behind Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr and seized the opportunity to quiz them about being first-time parents.

"Is it just the most amazing experience?" she asked.

Kerr confirmed that it in fact was, saying, "Every day it just gets better."

Bloom interjected that their little guy Flynn, who was born last January, is quite mischievous and keeps the pair plenty entertained.

Getting back to Biel — Timberlake reportedly popped the question to her over the holidays. Is the alleged bride-to-be thinking about babies already?

Golden Globes: Charlize Theron, Tilda Swinton toast performances

Tilda Swinton

In the penthouse of the Chateau Marmont -- where the routine performances are those of service, fame and occasionally CPR -- W magazine toasted its Best Performances issue just ahead of Sunday's Golden Globes telecast.

With the luminous faces of Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt (the issue's cover stars) adorning the walls, crowds of movie stars, directors and executives floated over Sunset Boulevard mingling with each other and editor in chief Stefano Tonchi.

Theron rocked a lacy black dress and chatted up her "Snow White and the Huntsman" costar Chris Hemsworth -- who sported his "Avengers" platinum blond hair beside wife Elsa Pataky.

Tilda Swinton, rather stunning in a tapered white suit, greeted Tom Cruise, Viola Davis, Patrick Stewart and Jared Leto while monitors played clips of 2011's busiest thespians, including Carey Mulligan.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr roamed hand-in-hand, Bloom stopping to embrace "Elizabethtown" costar Kirsten Dunst and English breakout actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

Jessica Biel, rumored to be engaged to Justin Timberlake, showed with an empty ring finger but a stunning floor-length sequin gown. She stuck close to a female pal and shared some laughs and a few glasses of Dom Perignon with Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the design duo behind label Rodarte.

Orlando Bloom, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on tap to attend royal polo match

Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, leave Canada for the U.S.

Prince William and Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will get a dose of Hollywood glamour in the Santa Barbara area on Saturday afternoon as celebrities including Orlando Bloom, Rosario Dawson and Zoe Saldana make the trek for a royal polo match.

Will is going to compete in a charity match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in Carpinteria in support of American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry

While Kate takes in the so-called American Riviera for the first time, she'll also have a taste of her homeland in the shape of Brits Alex Pettyfer and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, according to Us Weekly.

Can't wait to see what Kate will wear to hand out prizes to the winners -- and no, that Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who belongs to the club definitely will not be on standby during the match, despite his assertion that he'd been asked by the club to be ready just in case.

Tickets to watch the sold-out event were priced at $400 and $4,000 each, according to one report, with a spot on one of the three competing teams reportedly going for a charitable donation of around $100,000.

Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis will do the culinary honors.

Millennium Awards: Mark Ruffalo honored for green stance (no, not his Hulk role in 'The Avengers')

Mark Ruffalo, Orlando Bloom, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick at the Global Green USA Millennium Awards

Going green is the new black, in the eyes of Global Green USA's 15th annual Millennium Awards, which on Saturday honored celebs Mark Ruffalo and the always-Earth-minded Ed Begley Jr. for their planet-first efforts.

Ruffalo was on hand in Santa Monica to receive the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award for his fight to ban hydrofracking, a controversial method of getting natural gas out of rocks by using chemicals and water (Don't even think about it, "Battlestar Galactica" fans). That'd be the same fight — which included setting up screenings of the film "Gasland" — that reportedly got him added to a terror advisory watch list last year.

"The Avengers" actor — fittingly, he is cast as the brightly hued Hulk — wasn't the only green celeb on hand to commune in the name of nature. Along with Begley, who took home the award for individual environmental leadership, and Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon, who won the leadership award in 2005, famous names out in force to support the cause included model Miranda Kerr and actor hubby Orlando Bloom, Ed O'Neil, presenter Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Rodriguez.

Global Green USA, founded in 1994 as the U.S. extension of Green Cross International, a nonprofit created by former Russian President Mikhail S. Gorbachev in 1993, advocates for climate change solutions in areas including energy conservation, CO2 emission reduction, creation of green jobs and the securing of a more sustainable future.

Orlando Bloom to return as Legolas in 'The Hobbit' films

Orlando Bloom cast in 'The Hobbit'
Orlando Bloom
is officially heading back to Middle-earth to reprise his role as hot elf Legolas in the "Hobbit" films -- the prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Orlando Bloom as LegolasThe film's producer and director Peter Jackson wrote on his Facebook page Friday: "I'm thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older -- and he doesn't! I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf."

Recently, Bloom has been playing the role of new dad with wife and Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr.

The British actor will join Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen in the much-anticipated prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" story that  takes place 60 years before J.R.R. Tolkien's epic trilogy. British thespian Stephen Fry was added to the cast last week as Master of Laketown.

Shooting for the two 3-D films began in mid-March in New Zealand and will hit theaters in late 2012 and 2013, according to Variety.

Bloom recently read Shakespearean passages at a Los Angeles Philharmonic performance and was noticeably absent from the most recent installment of "The Pirates of the Caribbean."

But expect to see quite a bit more of him in the coming year. Bloom will star as the Duke of Buckingham in October in Paul W.S. Anderson's "The Three Musketeers," which also stars Logan Lerman, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich, Christoph Waltz and Juno Temple.

Exclusive: Sarah Silverman, Conan O'Brien, David Arquette tapped for 'Hollywood Bites Back!'

Hollywood-bites-back

Sarah Silverman is known for her funny bark, but come April she'll be using her bite. So will Conan O'Brien, David Arquette, Elizabeth Banks and B.J. Novak.

Those stars will align April 16 at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre for "Hollywood Bites Back!," an evening of laughs to support the Comedy Fights Malaria campaign, launched in October 2010 to address the devastating effects of the disease worldwide.

"I am honored to have been asked to take part in this important event," O'Brien said in a statement.
"I just hope that we can find a better cure for malaria than comedy."

The organization launched with a series of PSAs starring the likes of Banks, John Mayer, Lake Bell and Orlando Bloom, aiming to raise funds for malaria treatment and prevention in regions including Africa, which saw about 781,000 deaths last year from malaria, mostly among children under 5.

For comedy fans in Los Angeles, or those looking to swat at malaria, tickets for the show are available through Ticketmaster.

Orlando Bloom reading from 'Romeo and Juliet' for L.A. Phil

Orlando Bloom in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' Orlando Bloom is brushing up on his Shakespeare for upcoming concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Bloom has some spare time, it seems, since he won't be starring with Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in the next installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean" this May. No, we're still not over that.

We miss his period pieces and costume dramas (think "Lord of the Rings," "Kingdom of Heaven," "Troy"), but perhaps a little bit of Shakespeare will keep us from extreme Bloom withdrawal. We imagine he's been busy being a papa to baby boy Flynn with supermodel wife Miranda Kerr. Oh, to be blessed with all those gorgeous genes.

The reporter doth swoon too much, methinks.

Anyway, our friends at Culture Monster inform us that Bloom will perform selections from "Romeo and Juliet" between musical numbers in the series, which features Tchaikovsky's Shakespeare-inspired music led by wild-haired conductor Gustavo Dudamel. All we have to say about that: He'd better be Romeo.

"Brothers & Sisters" cast member Matthew Rhys will read from "Hamlet," and veteran actor Malcolm McDowell will recite from "The Tempest." Actress Kate Burton will serve as stage director and host. The concerts are March 10-13 at Walt Disney Concert Hall, with the March 13 concert to be broadcast live to cinemas across the U.S. and Canada.

(We miss you, Orlando!!!)

The gospel on celebrity and pop culture

Costume Designers Guild Awards: Grace notes, with Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Diane Lane

Halle Berry at the CDG Awards The red carpet can be a fashion war zone, but when it comes to the big and small screen, dressing is an art — as evidenced at the 13th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards on  Tuesday night in Beverly Hills.

Costume Designers Guild Awards pictures

Costume designers and their glamorous celebrity fans packed the Beverly Hilton, where eyes were drawn to Demi Moore in a simple but chic Vivienne Westwood blue creation. Husband Ashton Kutcher was the perfect escort, on hand to introduce a reel highlighting the career of Julie Weiss, who nabbed the Disaronno Award for career achievement.

The prize was presented to Weiss ("American Beauty," "No Strings Attached") by A-listers Robert Duvall, Billy Bob Thornton and Diane Lane, looking Old Hollywood and sporting a serious hair tuck.  Demi Moore at the CDG Awards

While Weiss got the biggest accolade, Halle Berry stole the show in a brilliant red Elie Saab gown, receiving the Lacoste Spotlight Award, presented by Samuel L. Jackson.

Despite some Rodarte drama, a gracious Amy Wescott nabbed the trophy for excellence in contemporary film for "Black Swan," while "Glee" got a nod for its duds courtesy of costume designer Lou Eyrich. Click the pic of Westcott and Kristin Davis, above, for more photos from the event.

The Ministry must admit a minor obsession with fashion host Louise Roe, a knockout in a psychedelic constructed print dress from Manish Arora, who was herself excited over sightings that included Ginnifer Goodwin, Claire Danes and a still-stunning Holland Taylor.

Representing the boys were "White Collar" cutie Matt Bomer, "The Twilight Saga" star Kellan Lutz, Bill Maher and Old Spice's resident gentleman Isaiah Mustafa

Check out our sister blog All the Rage's assessment of the evening, and leave your thoughts on the CDG Awards in comments.

Sara Rue sheds before she weds and makes a show of it

Sara Rue Sara Rue -- you may remember her from "Popular," "Less Than Perfect" and, most recently, a brief stint on ABC's "Eastwick." But the former Jenny Craig spokeswoman will be back in prime time Wednesday night hosting "Shedding for the Wedding," a reality show on the CW about engaged couples competing to lose weight before their big day.

The couple who lose the most weight win their dream wedding. The 33-year-old actress-turned-host may know a thing or two about that, since she lost 50 pounds for her upcoming May nuptials to teacher Kevin Prince.

"It's nice to not have that be a stressful thing," she told People about the weight loss, which she pulled off with the help of a certain Miss Craig. "Planning a wedding can be stressful enough, and I'm glad I don't have that to worry about."

Perhaps she's not only serving as host but also as a real-life inspiration to the nine competing couples -- though Los Angeles Times TV critic Robert Lloyd maintains that Rue is overqualified for the hosting gig.

Still, we think "Shedding for the Wedding" is a bit more sobering than E!'s dreadful "Bridalplasty." At least Rue's show talks about health -- though we're now wondering if she's addicted to losing weight.

"I do my maintenance by exercising and watching what I eat, but of course I may want to lose a little bit more just so I look and feel great in my wedding dress," Rue said. "On my honeymoon, I want to be able to flounce around in tiny shorts and a bikini top. That would be ideal."

Watch one of Rue's Jenny Craig commercials -- pure advertisement but cute -- below. And catch her on the show at 9 p.m. on the CW. We'll be watching with a tub of ice cream in hand.
