'Arthur' movie premiere: Russell Brand, Helen Mirren get dodgy in New York

Russell Brand and Helen Mirren at 'Arthur' premiere The stars of "Arthur" gathered on the red carpet Tuesday for the premiere of the film remake of the eponymous Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli classic. The new movie features  Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner and Greta Gerwig.

A Katy Perry-less Brand hit the premiere at the Ziegfield Theater in New York for the screening. He portrays the title character, a wealthy playboy who tries to prove his mother, played by Geraldine James, that he can be independent. However, he has never worked a day in his life and has a potent case of Peter Pan Syndrome. So his mother says she'll cut him off if he doesn't marry a proper woman.

Mirren plays Hobson, Arthur's tireless nanny who was actually a man in the 1981 original. She also played Prospera in 2010's "The Tempest," a character who was also male in Shakespeare's classic. How's that for androgyny?

Garner, who also attended the premiere, plays Arthur's quasi-love interest Susan Johnson, whom Arthur is forced to marry in order for his mother to bequeath his inheritance.

Also at the premiere were "Greenberg" actress Gerwig, who plays Arthur's real love interest, and Luis Guzman, who plays Bitterman, Arthur's chauffeur.

New Twitter member Billy Crystal and comic Robin Williams, currently appearing on Broadway in "Bengal Tiger in the Baghdad Zoo," walked the carpet Tuesday night. "Friends" star and "Trust" director David Schwimmer and wife Zoe Buckman, as well as stage and screen actor Brian Dennehy, also attended.

"Arthur" opens in theaters April 6.

Keith Richards' daughter Theodora charged in NYC for minor drug possession, tagging

Keith-and-Theodora
Theodora Richard
, daughter of Rolling Stones bad boy Keith Richards and model Patti Hansen, was arraigned Tuesday after being arrested on suspicion of drug possession and allegedly using a graffiti marker to paint on the side of a New York City building.

The 25-year-old, who has modeled for Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger and French Connection, was Theodora Richards spotted by police around 10:45 p.m. while allegedly writing "T [heart] A" on a building that houses a convent in an upscale part of SoHo, where she lives.

"I hope I don't get in trouble for this," she said to an officer, according to the Associated Press.

In addition to the paint marker and a small amount of marijuana, police said Richards was carrying narcotic pain relief pills that she did not have a prescription for.

She did not enter a plea at the arraignment and was released without bail. She is set to appear in court again April 21.

Her attorney Stacey Richman described Richards as "a polite, lovely woman."

Does this sound like a bad episode of "Gossip Girl" to anyone else?

'Little Fockers': Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman hit the premiere

Little Fockers cast

The "Little Fockers" cast flashed some Gotham star power at the movie's premiere in New York last  Wednesday, with Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman joining Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Jessica Alba on the red carpet outside the Ziegfeld Theater to launch the comedy.

Little Fockers premiere pictures Cast members Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, Laura Dern and wee Daisy Tahan and Colin Baiocchi — they play little Fockers — also turned out to promote the third installment in the "Meet the Parents" franchise, directed by Paul Weitz

Hoffman was an August addition to the movie, the bulk of which had been shot without him after he initially passed on the role. "I don't think he wrapped his head around it until he saw the preview in the theater," Weitz joked to The Times in October, discussing individual cast members. "Then the light bulb went off." Hoffman's scenes are primarily with Barbra Streisand.

Also spotted supporting their significant actors: Hoffman's wife, Lisa Gottsegen; Stiller's dad, Jerry Stiller; and Alba's hubby, Cash Warren. Click the photo of Hoffman and De Niro at right for more pictures from the "Little Fockers" red carpet.

Charlie Sheen leaves N.Y. hospital for L.A.

Charlie Sheen in Aspen, Colorado. Charlie Sheen has checked out of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and is headed home to Los Angeles, multiple sources reported Tuesday.

Sheen's former wife Denise Richards, who thanked people Tuesday on Twitter for their "supportive and kind messages" and said it was "very difficult" to do press for "Blue Mountain State," told Joy Behar on CNN that although she knew what had happened in the adjoining Plaza Hotel room and had gone to the hospital with Sheen, she didn't want to discuss it.

Richards also said she'd never let the girls' father around them if he were drunk.

Sheen's publicist, who said earlier in the day that his client would be hospitalized until Wednesday, released a statement Tuesday evening that the "Two and a Half Men" actor was L.A.-bound. Other than Sheen's catch and release in New York, "everything else is speculation," the rep said.

Police said Sheen appeared "intoxicated" in the hotel's Eloise Suite; he was reportedly offered a choice of hospitalization or arrest. Sheen's rep said the actor had had an "adverse allergic reaction" to medication.

Life & Style magazine published an unnamed "eyewitness" account of Sheen having dinner with friends, including the alleged escort who later called authorities, on Monday night -- saying that Richards stopped by, but "looked like she had enough" and took off.

Moving forward, the actor will work on a short scene for a friend's film, then return to shooting his sitcom next week, TMZ said. Oh, he also reportedly knows he screwed up, but wants to "move on."

Too late to help Charlie Sheen, 'Sesame Street' explains adverse allergic reactions [poll]

Had Charlie Sheen watched Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel on "Sesame Street" instead of swinging by "Mary Poppins" with ex-wife Denise Richards and their daughters in New York on Sunday, he might have learned a little something about allergic reactions.

And perhaps a more informed "Two and a Half Men" star could have avoided the "adverse allergic reaction" his publicist says got him hospitalized early Tuesday after Sheen reportedly trashed his room at the Plaza Hotel and made his companion -- said to be a hooker -- scream and cry and call security while hiding inside the closet.

Rumors of a cocaine binge aside, we'd like to give Charlie the benefit of the doubt for a second or two. Maybe he just had an adverse allergic reaction to some of the city's bedbugs? Wait, those were at the Waldorf-Astoria, not the Plaza.

Charlie Sheen and his adverse allergic adventures in the Eloise Suite [Updated]

Charlie Sheen hospitalized at New York Presbyterian Hmmm. Charlie Sheen's "adverse allergic reaction" to medication Tuesday is causing quite a reaction in general regarding details of his recent adventures in New York.

Though Sheen's publicist said the actor was in the hospital because something mixed funny with his prescription medication, emerging reports appear to place that allergy firmly in hookers-and-blow territory. Which is where people usually head after going out on a Sunday to see "Mary Poppins" with the kids and the ex-wife, right?

"He's back to his old tricks," a source told Radar Online. "He's been partying and using cocaine. He's been doing it for weeks."

People described by TMZ as "bigwigs" associated with "Two and a Half Men" allegedly want to fly Sheen home to L.A. by private jet ASAP, though Sheen's publicist said the actor would be in the hospital until Wednesday. A Radar source said Sheen's headed back to rehab at Promises in Malibu, but a TMZ source said Charlie didn't think he needed rehab and would simply be heading home.

A Warner Bros. spokesman -- they're behind the show for which Sheen earns north of a million bucks an episode -- had no comment.

[Updated at 3:05 p.m.: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that no evidence of drug use was found in Sheen's hotel room.]

The website Kikster quoted a Plaza Hotel employee as saying packets of drugs -- believed to be cocaine -- had been found in Sheen's room, according to the security report, and that the woman

When jealous girlfriends attack: Kim Kardashian drenched

Khloe-and-kim-kardashian Yeesh, we thought Justin Bieber fans were the only people crazy jealous of Kim Kardashian. Guess not -- after a male fan asked to take a picture with Kim on Thursday night at a club in New York, the guy's girlfriend reportedly felt the need to hurl a drink at the reality TV star.

Kim was drenched, and chaos reportedly ensued.

Khloe Kardashian and Scott Disick, the father of Kourtney Kardashian's baby, jumped into the fray at the supper club Juliet, according to multiple reports, with Khloe reportedly diving across the floor to save her wedding ring after it was knocked off her hand, and Disick getting the woman off Kim. They left the shortly afterward, wet clothes and all, after security booted Disick from club.

Perhaps the girlfriend took it really seriously when Kim told Ryan Seacrest earlier this week that she was "down for some hookups" while her new show "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" tapes in the Big Apple.

We think, however, that unless girlfriend's boyfriend is a professional athlete, their relationship is probably safe.

Stay classy.

Sightings: Leonardo DiCaprio and Chris Brown party coast to coast

Chris-brown-sightings Hump day was a busy one for celebrities in West Hollywood and New York, coaxing out the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Chris Brown, respectively.

In West Hollywood, nightspot Trousdale toasted partner Darren Dzienciol's birthday Wednesday with a room full of bold names. DiCaprio was surrounded by usual suspects Jamie Foxx and Jeremy Piven, while Olivia Munn held court nearby Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.

David Arquette showed, sans wife Courteney Cox-Arquette, and was clearly in good spirits -- an onlooker tells us that on his way out the actor broke into an impromptu rap with a street performer.

In New York, celbs ceelbrated the 10th anniversary of BET's video countdown show "106 & Park" at NYC nightlife staple Marquee. Brown "stole the show," according to partygoers, dancing into the night alongside Bow Wow, Trey Songz and Ja Rule.

Brown even hopped on the mike, thanking fans for "sticking by him" and doing a cover of Kanye West's new single "Runaway Love."
