Dina Lohan does the 'Today' show; Michael Lohan visits Lindsay in rehab

Several activity blips have hit on the Lindsay Lohan radar, including a stop by the "Today" show from mom Dina and details of a visit to rehab from her father, Michael.

Chatting with anchor Matt Lauer, Dina weighed in Monday on the significance of her daughter's current rehab stint.

"She's been in a couple facilities, but this one, to me, has really changed her," Dina said, adding, "Addiction is difficult. I don't know. I don't have a crystal ball. I pray hard. ... We can only be positive and look to the future to help other families."

While the Lohan matriarch did the talking-head thing, news of Michael's Sunday visit to Lindsay circulated.

Lindsay and her dad, notorious for feuding and trading barbs through press, had a reported emotional reunion at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage.

"There were hugs, kisses and even a few tears when Michael and Lindsay first saw each other," a source told Radar Online.

The pair spent several hours shopping at a nearby mall, at one point perusing the goods in a jewelry store. The outlet contacted Michael for comment but were denied any juice.

"I have pledged not to comment about anything relating to my daughter," he said. "However, what I will say is that I am an incredibly proud father tonight. My daughter is progressing extraordinarily well."

Lindsay Lohan sent back to rehab until Jan. 3 -- no jail

Lindsay-lohan-october-22 Lindsay Lohan avoided jail and was sent back to the Betty Ford Center by Judge Elden Fox on Friday in Beverly Hills as a consequence of violating probation with two dirty drug tests in September, L.A. Now reports.

"You're staying there past the New Year, and there is a reason for that," Fox said. "I'm not going to be manipulated.

"If you can make it to Feb. 25, I'm going to convert this case to unsupervised probation," Fox continued, according to Access Hollywood. "Hopefully, you'll put this long episode behind you."

The actress must stay in rehab until Jan. 3 and her SCRAM bracelet will come off, but she'll still face random drug and alcohol testing, TMZ reports. Fox had said he'd send Lohan to jail for 30 days in the event of a probation violation, but was convinced by the center's report and a handwritten letter from Lohan that a return to rehab was the better move.

Lohan cried and said "thank you," according to TMZ.

With attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, Lohan showed up about half an hour early for her 8:30 a.m. hearing at Beverly Hills Courthouse, breaking a habit she's displayed over the years of slipping in by the skin of her teeth, and even showing up late for the July 20 hearing where she was sent to jail.

The starlet's parents Michael Lohan and Dina Lohan were both in court, though on opposite sides of the room. Michael is under a restraining order requiring him to stay away from his ex-wife.

The "Mean Girls" actress voluntarily entered rehab in late September at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage and remained there until 4 a.m. Friday.

Despite an alleged attack Thursday night outside his Santa Monica home, Lohan's estranged daddy Michael was spotted in the crowd outside. Typically, a statement to the media has followed such an appearance, but this week Michael made a statement that he was done making statements about his daughter.

PREACH IT! Michael Lohan releases statement announcing end of statements

Michael-lohan-statement As of this second, Michael Lohan has agreed to shut up about daughter Lindsay and ex-wife Dina. He put out a press release to that effect this week, swearing an end to media-whoring of all manner and class. Now he’s determined to be the penitent Mary Magdalene of fameballs. He totally pinky swears.

Here are some of the excerpts from his statement, without editing:

After serious thought and conversation last night, with someone who means alot to me. I am making this statement and fully intend on living by it. With all due respect to those who have both gotten on my nerves for reporting things that weren't true, ( as well as things that were),I want to make a public statement that I will not be commenting on ANYTHING relating to my daughter Lindsay, or ANYTHING my ex wife Dina, or any "sources" related to her, might say.

After all the things said and the incidents which have transpired, I realize that no matter how wrong or right I may have been, at the end of the day, I was wrong for offending my ex wife and my children. Because of the spotlight and scrutiny we have been under, as well as my own "pride", which has caused pain to my mother, (deceased father), brother, sisters and their sibling, I realize how my statements and actions have had a ripple effect on all of them.

And NO MATTER what accusations, lies or conjecture are disseminated to the public, about me, for the sake of the ones I love and with hope of creating peace, I WILL NOT respond, in ANY way, to what is said or done, to me.

So, is it us, or does papa Lohan look like the Situation had a baby with Cecil Turtle a little bit? We can discuss that now, right?

Lindsay Lohan demands dad not sell her rehab diary [poll]

Lilo-notes Lindsay Lohan has had a cease-and-desist letter sent to her dad, Michael Lohan, demanding that he stop selling her stuff -- specifically excerpts from a diary she kept when she was in rehab in 2007, Radar Online reports.

The letter, which Radar says was sent by LiLo attorney Shawn Chapman Holley to Michael's rep Lisa Bloom, reportedly threatens to go for damages, citing a "grave invasion of privacy," if excerpts from the hand-written tome were to go on the market.

It's not the first time Lindsay's had to protect the sanctity of her writing. After another diary went missing at a nightclub in 2006, attorneys jumped into action to head off publication.

That said, it's one thing to take a journal out clubbing and then get uptight afterward; another entirely to suspect your own father of selling your most intimate thoughts to the highest bidder.

Michael Lohan denies Kate Major's allegations, says his lawyer is 'ready to drag her through the mud'

Michael-lohan-crying While his daughter Lindsay Lohan sits in jail, Michael Lohan has been charged with second-degree harassment against his probably ex-fiancee, Kate Major, TMZ reports.

The charge, related to a dispute Monday between the two, was filed in New York by the Southampton Police Department. In the complaint, she said Lohan told her, "I'm going to go back to jail cause of you, cause I will kill you."

Lohan attorney Lisa Bloom said in a statement to TMZ that her client "100% denies each and every one of Kate Major’s allegations" and alleging that Major was drunk at the time of the fight. Sources on Major's side say she wasn't. Talking about Major to a video crew, Lohan said Bloom was "ready to drag her through the mud."

A person is guilty of harassment in the second degree, according to New York penal code, if he or she, "with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another person," "strikes, shoves, kicks or otherwise subjects such other person to physical contact, or attempts or threatens to do the same." It is a violation -- which means a conviction can bring no more than 15 days in jail.

The judge did issue a temporary restraining order against him, prohibiting him from communicating with Major, even through a third party. Bloom said Thursday that Lohan hadn't yet been served with a criminal complaint.

Lohan will be arraigned on Aug. 18 and must appear. With any luck, he won't have trouble getting a flight back from Cannes or wherever he might be at the time.

Michael Lohan's fiancee accuses him of domestic violence

Michael-lohan

Kate Major, the former tabloid reporter who's engaged to Michael Lohan and who also dated Jon Gosselin for a stretch, has filed a police report accusing her fiance of shoving her over a chair and injuring her shoulder, then kicking her in the face while she was on the floor, TMZ reports

They had a fight Monday afternoon, right before he left New York for L.A. ahead of daughter Lindsay Lohan's Tuesday trip to jail. She declined to comment to Radar Online on Wednesday.

Michael Lohan confirmed to TMZ that there had been an argument over their new TV show but said he didn't touch Major. That was shortly before he talked to Radar and blamed the fight on two of Tiger Woods' mistresses.

Michael Lohan, deputies check on daughter Ali at Lindsay's apartment

Lilo-weho Lindsay Lohan's dad, Michael Lohan, swung by his oldest daughter's apartment Thursday, TMZ reports, with officers checking on the welfare of 16-year-old Ali, Lindsay's sister.

Lindsay quickly took to Twitter, expressing disbelief that her "ex-dad" was allowed in the building and accusing him of hiring the sheriff's deputies who came to her home. Michael told deputies he was worried for Ali's safety after she'd been in Lindsay's car coming home from the Coachella music festival at speeds up to 100 mph, a TMZ source said. He told Hollyscoop they were going 115 mph.

Lindsay told Gossip Cop on Thursday that she wanted "restraining orders and the cops should be fired!!!!!!!! Also – my building cannot let this happen!" Gossip Cop had reported that Michael, on law-enforcement advice, was on his way to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services.

However, during the 1 o'clock hour PDT, Michael Lohan was live online being interviewed by Harvey Levin of TMZ, and said he hadn't yet gone to DCFS.

During the interview, he commented on "tough love"-type statements made recently by Dr. Drew Pinsky regarding Lindsay.

Said Michael: "I oppose my daughter and stand behind him."

PREACH IT! Michael Lohan, Kate Major get engaged; Ministry of Gossip consults Book of Revelation

Michael Lohan

If you’ve eaten a hearty meal in the last two hours, you might not want to read this.

Michael Lohan and Kate Major are engaged. Yes, that’s the same Michael Lohan who once called Jon Gosselin a friend and who calls news conferences to air his daughter’s problems. And, correct, that is the same Kate Major who dated Gosselin and then flayed him in print.

Major is 27. Lohan turns 50 soon. The bride-to-be has indicated she will hold a winter wedding in New York; she has selected the bridesmaids, and Lohan sought permission from Major’s father before moving forward with the union.

“I’m ecstatic,” Major told People magazine. “I’m very happy. Michael and I have known each other for four years, and it’s meant to be.”

They are registered at Ed Hardy and the ninth circle of hell.

Lindsay Lohan has offered her good wishes, sort of.

On the icky scale, we’re not sure where these folks fall; our guess is somewhere between Britney Spears-Kevin Federline and Anna Nicole Smith-That Skanky Guy, but you tell us.
