Report: Like a good ex-boyfriend, Mel Gibson returns Oksana's CDs (and her music rights) [poll]

If you love something, set it free — but if you don't love it so much anymore, perhaps just have it trucked over to your ex's house and dumped.

Sources have told TMZ that Mel Gibson had "boxes and boxes" of unsold Oksana Grigorieva CDs shipped to her place and that he signed papers in August giving up his executive producer rights to her music. You'll remember Gibson sunk a bit of effort into his ex-girlfriend's career, including directing a couple of music videos (like the one embedded above, in case you missed it last year).

To the Ministry, this sounds like a classic "my therapist suggested this might make me feel better" move. Plus, seriously, who hasn't returned a few CDs to a former sweetie?

Thoughts?

PREACH IT! Mel Gibson's baseball-bat army gets a pro-wrestling recruit

Mel Gibson Another day, another leaked telephone meltdown involving threats against an ex.

With every week that passes, we get more evidence that Mel Gibson has birthed an unholy army of men who want to put somebody in a rose garden with a baseball bat, or something like that. A couple of weeks ago we heard about former child star Edward Furlong, who was hit with a restraining order after allegedly leaving vicious messages for his estranged wife.

The messages are apparently so vile they'd make the beard on the Lincoln Memorial bleed, so we won't repeat them here, other than to say they involve the ripping out of someone's internal organs — and, yes, a baseball bat.

But the latest mini-Mel appears to be a man — oh, wait, scratch that; we mean "legendary wrestler" — with the adorable moniker of Badd Ass Billy Gunn.

Mr. Ass has apparently left some terrible recordings of his own, in this instance ...

Mel Gibson's domestic violence case goes to prosecutors

Mel-gibson-black-jacket Will Mel Gibson face charges in connection with allegations by ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva that he hit her while she held their child? That's up to prosecutors to decide, now that L.A. County Sheriff's Department investigators have turned over their findings in the case, L.A. Now reports.

The handoff, which happened Wednesday afternoon, didn't include results of the Sheriff's Department's investigation into extortion allegations made by Team Gibson against Team Grigorieva -- seems that's not wrapped up yet, with TMZ reporting that deputies will again interview the actor. The extortion investigation reportedly has turned up e-mails and text messages that go to the heart of that issue.

Don't go clearing your calendar, however, in anticipation of breaking Mel Gibson news out of the D.A.'s office -- as People points out, a decision by prosecutors could take months.

Until then, keep your eyes on the road and maybe catch up on some reading? We've dropped in links to a few headlines below.

PREACH IT! Are we the only ones who haven't been interviewed about Mel Gibson?

Bragman-oksana-mel

Let’s be honest: Among schadenfreude enthusiasts, the Mel Gibson story is the gift that keeps on giving. First there were the meltdown recordings -- possibly doctored, possibly deliberately leaked, but undoubtedly mesmerizing no matter how you slice it.

Then came the second wave: The dramatic appearance of Gibson’s supportive ex-wife in family court, whisperings of criminal investigations against both Gibson and former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. And now comes a third phase. It’s devoid of the astoundingly creative verbal abuse that made Phase I so irresistible, but it’s got its charm nonetheless. It’s more about creeping paranoia, on both sides of the blowout.

Over at Team Grigorieva, the musician reportedly has asked "experts" to sweep her house for hidden listening devices. Per TMZ, "Oksana is worried either Mel or the media has planted ...

PREACH IT! Know what, Whoopi? Gloria Allred is right

Whoopi-goldberg-press-confe

And in our main tent: Gloria Allred versus Whoopi Goldberg in a debate over battered women -- with Allred cleaning Goldberg’s clock.

When Goldberg first showed up on "The View", the big question was which side she’d support: the dingbat Sherri Shepherd/Elisabeth Hasselbeck bloc, or the faction chaired by Joy "Who Cares?" Behar. Turns out, neither was correct. Goldberg actually belongs to a third column -- rich, famous, out-of-touch people whose grandees include folks such as Mel "You Deserved It" Gibson.

Goldberg’s latest gaffe came last week, when the executive vice president from gossip site RadarOnline came on "The View" as a guest. The hosts asked David Perel why Gibson’s ex ...

Report: Oksana Grigorieva's sister suspected of leaking Mel Gibson tapes [Updated]

6a00d8341c630a53ef0133f254e509970b-pi[1] Authorities are looking into whether Natalie Grigorieva -- younger sister of Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva -- was the source of audiotapes leaked to a celebrity website, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Reporter cites sources close to the investigation, including one who alleges Natalie shopped the tapes to various outlets, asking that money change hands before anyone listened to the goods.

[Updated, 3:00 p.m.: Oskana on Friday lashed out at her ex in public, blaming him for various accusations: "Mel is lying. He is lying. There is no extortion. There's no texts and no e-mails ... I am fighting for my child. He’s just a liar, and it will come in the court, just wait."

She also defended Natalie, saying her sister didn't have the tapes. "She erased them a long time ago."]

Radar editor David Perel has maintained the website coughed up no dough for the audio. "We did not pay for the tapes," he told the Daily Beast. "Not a dime." On Howard Stern's show, Perel said Oksana wasn't the source of the tapes.

On June 25, Mel secured a restraining order prohibiting Oksana from making the tapes public. On July 1, details about the tapes began to leak, with the first of six tapes so far being made public July 9.

Anti-Semitic death threat by Mel Gibson alleged, debunked almost simultaneously [Updated]

6a00d8341c630a53ef013485538a6d970c-pi[1] Oksana Grigorieva says she told authorities that Mel Gibson made a hate-filled death threat toward a Jewish Hollywood figure who allegedly "humiliated him," Radar Online reported Friday — and TMZ chimed in with word that the allegedly endangered Hollywood figure cited in the story was none other than that website's chief, Harvey Levin, and that it had determined the story to be false.

TMZ reports that Grigorieva rep Steve Jaffe "spoon-fed" them the same story earlier this week, saying Oksana said Gibson told her he wanted the "blood of Jews" on his hands and that she'd reported it to the Sheriff's Department. TMZ says it checked out details of the story and they didn't wash. On Friday, Radar reported the "exclusive" story as the actor wanting "Jew blood" on his hands.

Levin says nobody ever warned him of a death threat, and the L.A. County Sheriff's Department told his website they never received any information of the sort.

[Updated: 3:30 p.m.: Sources close to the investigation also said that if everyone in Hollywood who theorized about killing Levin were arrested, the jails would be full and the studios empty.]

Perhaps shockingly — perhaps not shocking at all? — this alleged threat appears not to have been captured ...

Sheriff will investigate Mel Gibson's extortion claim against Oksana Grigorieva

Mel-gibson-walking The investigation into allegations of domestic violence brought against Mel Gibson by Oksana Grigorieva is being expanded to include a look-see into allegations by the actor that his ex-girlfriend attempted to extort money from him, L.A. Now reports.

A Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman said Wednesday that investigators are "looking into" the report of an extortion attempt related to the string of taped conversations that have been made public over the last couple of weeks.

Gibson attorney Blair Berk reportedly presented evidence of the alleged extortion to sheriff's department investigators on Tuesday.

Also on Wednesday, Radar Online published what it says is a picture of the couple's child, Lucia, with an abrasion on her face, and quoted an unnamed source "with knowledge of the situation" as saying a doctor diagnosed Grigorieva with a concussion in January.

Incidentally, this link doesn't go to the picture posted by Radar -- but it might as well.

The sixth alleged Mel Gibson tape: 'monster' and child — while his attorney makes his case to the sheriff

Mel-gibson-door

On the same day Mel Gibson's attorney is reportedly presenting evidence to authorities that Oksana Grigorieva fabricated her claims of violence against the actor, a sixth audio tape in a series alleged to be the actor ranting at his ex was made public Tuesday by Radar Online.

It's the first tape in which Grigorieva raises her voice significantly, shouting that she doesn't care about him pulling the plug on her career: "I'm just saving my child's life, because you are a monster. That's all! You're a monster!"

Her volume elicits a sarcastic, low-key response: "OK, you're yelling now, good."

(If you're a tough-minded adult who's OK with profanity, you can listen to the tape here. The Times has not independently verified the authenticity of the tapes, but nobody from Gibson's side has questioned them.)

This is the first tape released since a source told TMZ that Grigorieva sent text messages to Gibson, stating she made the tapes not to capture an admission of a felony — which might make them admissible in a California court — but specifically because he'd not come through on promises to support her.

In the sixth tape, Grigorieva states that she'd signed papers preventing her from coming after him for money in the future;  that could refer to a preliminary version of an alleged agreement that ...

Mel Gibson isn't moving to Australia -- but you knew that

Mel-gibson-portrait

Mel Gibson gossips have been on fire over a British tabloid story claiming the actor was packing up and moving to Australia -- a story the Ministry considered "on fire" like a prankster's flaming bag of dog mess on a front porch.

It's a story that involves "no truth," Gibson's rep, Alan Nierob, told NBC on Monday. Nierob is the rep who's reportedly been told by Gibson's lawyers to keep his mouth shut during the current scandal -- yet apparently the Australian relocation fabrication was dead-wrong enough to merit a comment.

Why did we hate and ignore this story from the moment we saw it linked on the Drudge Report?

It claimed that Gibson's sale of his "New York mansion" was indicative of this alleged escape plan.
