Matthew Fox accused of assault by female Cleveland bus driver

Matthew Fox accused of assault

Matthew Fox has been accused of assault by Cleveland charter bus driver Heather Bormann, the 29-year-old mother of three who filed a complaint against the actor Tuesday afternoon.

Fox was detained by police very early Sunday morning, though not arrested, after he allegedly started swinging at Bormann, hitting her in the legs, chest and crotch when she refused to let him board the privately chartered bus she was driving. She finally clocked him back, hitting him in the face and drawing blood.

"But by the time I got home, it was all tears," Bormann told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. "He really scared the crap out of me." She'd been chatting with two of her 17 bachelor-party passengers when Fox allegedly attempted to get on the bus, she told the paper.

Her complaint, which CNN said is being investigated by the Cleveland prosecutor's office, could lead to an assault charge against the "Lost" actor.

The prosecutor's office photographed bruises on Bormann's legs and arms that she said she suffered from Fox's blows. She also claimed to have hurt her wrist when she punched him.

The punch sent Fox stubling backward into a fence, she told the Plain-Dealer. He wiped the blood from his mouth, flicked it to the ground and then attacked her again, she said, adding that she thought she might have hit him also in the back of the head.

Three men came to her aid, she said. An off-duty police officer who was working security at the Shooters bar she was parked outside detained the actor, eventually sending him home in a taxi with a friend.

"He smelled like a liquor cabinet -- like a bar," Bormann told People on Tuesday. "I told him, 'Sorry buddy, this is a private party. You have to get off my vehicle.' I told him three times. He never said a word. He just looked at me."

Fox has been in Cleveland working on the movie "I, Alex Cross." A police report obtained by the Plain-Dealer described him as 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds.

Matthew Fox detained in Cleveland

Matthew Fox was detained by police over the weekend in Cleveland after the actor allegedly got into it with a 29-year-old female bus driver who wouldn't let him hitch a ride on the privately hired, not-Matthew-Fox's-party bus she was piloting.

The "Lost" star allegedly punched driver Heather Bormann in the chest and crotch, which earned him a punch in the face Saturday night, according a police report obtained by several media outlets.

"I took one hand to his jaw and he was spitting blood," Bormann told TMZ, explaining that she swung in self-defense. "He stumbled backwards."

She had first tried to explain to the actor that he wasn't welcome to board the bus, she said, but he appeared to be too drunk to understand.

After being detained, Fox was released to the custody of a friend and taken back to his hotel, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Fox has been in Cleveland filming "I, Alex Cross" with Tyler Perry. He's also working on the Brad Pitt zombie flick, "World War Z."
