The Ministry of Gossip, like so many of the celebrities whose lives we cover, is moving a fabulous new location — but never fear! We're not breaking up, darlings, and unlike most celebrities we're actually going to share our new address.
Desire for a reaction from Jennifer Aniston to news of Brad Pitt's engagement to Angelina Jolie is as inevitable as the bloodlust for the wedding date and celebrity guest list — but the ex-wife in question might be even harder to pin down.
"She doesn't care," E! Online says, citing a source close to Jen. "She really doesn't. She's happy with Justin [Theroux]. She'll probably marry him. She's moved on. People don't want to believe it, but she has."
The report goes on to say Aniston was even in the company of Theroux when the news hit, Friday the 13th. "She was happy and hanging out with her man," the source added.
Then we have another Aniston pal dropping Hollywood Life a gem bigger than Angelina's massive diamond.
"Jennifer is happy for Brad and Angelina. She is so in love with Justin, that she is really grateful how things turned out...if it weren’t for Angelina, Jennifer would not have connected with Justin in a romantic way," the website claims.
"Jennifer is in a really wonderful place right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if she even went to their wedding."
We'd have an easier time believing Billy Bob Thornton was going to officiate the service under a silk tent at Chateau Miraval, Brange's French estate. Tell us your thoughts on the supposed Aniston reactions in comments.
The Ministry is happy to exclusively tell you that Josh Hutcherson, "The Hunger Games"'s Peeta Mellark, will receive a top honor from GLAAD come Saturday.
As part of the Los Angeles stop on their annual Media Awards circuit Hutcherson is to receive the Van Guard award, handed to one who increases the visibility and understanding of LGBT folks.
"Emerging as a leader in a new generation of equality advocates, Josh Hutcherson has consistently used his platform to help young people understand that no one should face discrimination simply because of who they are," said newly christened GLAAD President Herndon Graddick in a statement.
Hutcherson is involved in "Straight But Not Narrow," a campaign backed by several young actors including "Glee's" Cory Monteith, encouraging straight youth to accept their LGBT peers.
Josh is the award's youngest recipient. Previous winners include Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Whoopi Goldberg and the late TV mogul Aaron Spelling.
The GLAAD Media Awards will take palce at Downtown L.A.'s Westin Bonaventure hotel, with additional honors going to Chaz Bono, a musical performance from Jason Mraz and a special show opener from Ellen DeGeneres.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have confirmed their engagement to live as man and wife, but that Friday announcement isn't the only one the famous duo has made regarding the institution of marriage.
In 2006, a year or so into their relationship, Pitt declared that he and Jolie wouldn't tie the knot until all Americans had the equal right to do so, garnering the leading man huge support from the gay community.
We were reminded of this during his recent awards tour for "Moneyball," as Pitt spoke freely about his and Angie's children encouraging them to get hitched. That stirred some anxiety from the gay community, but what's the vibe now that the engagement is official?
"We congratulate them on their engagement and thank them for continuing to speak out about the inequality that so many gay and lesbian couples face today," GLAAD spokesman Rich Ferraro told the Ministry in an email.
"No loving and committed couple should be denied the happiness, joy, and legal protections that come with marriage."
GLAAD's seal of approval certainly clears a political path for the pair to wed (though we can't imagine when, with their massive brood and work schedules), and let's be honest — we'd hardly try to buy a dress, plan a menu or decorate nary a French chateau without that thumbs-up either.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly headed for a big-screen reunion, and why shouldn't they be? The last time these two worked on a film, the celeb-sphere was forever changed.
First things first: Director Ridley Scott is assembling a cast for "The Counselor," about a well-positioned lawyer who gets tangled up in the drug trade. Michael Fassbender will lead the flick, and Angelina was rumored last week to be hovering around the project.
Pitt and actor Javier Bardem are now reportedly in talks to come on board, which would bring Brangelina back together on screen for the first time since 2005's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" (Pitt had a brief cameo in Jolie's directorial debut, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," but Angie stayed behind the camera, so it doesn't count).
As if you needed reminding, in 2005 Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston. Jolie had just split from Billy Bob Thornton and adopted her first son, Maddox. Brad and Jen parted ways after "Smith" wrapped production, and the rest is literally tabloid history.
If Pitt indeed signs on for "Counselor," it would mark another significant reunion: When he directed 1991's "Thelma & Louise," Ridley Scott introduced a young Brad to the world.
In the first of what we assume will be a number of accolades, "The Hunger Games" landed a new kind of tribute — for star Josh Hutcherson.
The man who plays Peeta Mellark just picked up a NewNowNext award from Logo TV in the category of Next Mega Star. (The awards, held Thursday, were broadcast Monday night.)
"This is so much better than the Oscars," Hutcherson cracked. "I get so bored at those award shows."
"For me, I just love making movies, and the fact that anybody shows up to them is just a bonus," he said. Yes, Josh. A few people did show up to see "The Hunger Games."
While his costars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth are empty-handed at the moment, talk at NewNowNext turned to the coveted best kiss trophy handed out annually at the MTV Movie Awards. Hutcherson and Lawrence could go head-to-head with reigning couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
"[Rob and Kristen's] was so passionate. Ours was like — I was on my deathbed, wasn't very sexy. I don't know. We'll see. Maybe. I'd be so lucky. One can only hope!" Hutcherson told VH1.
If Kristen Wiig is indeed preparing for the next chapter of her career, it's certainly not a private process. Reports are rampant that the "Saturday Night Live" funny lady is leaving the show at season's end.
Wiig's contract expires in May, and given her Academy Award-nominated success with the female comedy "Bridesmaids," it's a natural move to exit the sketch comedy show for movie stardom.
"Well, everyone has to leave," Wiig told Alec Baldwin on the frequent "SNL" host's podcast Monday.
"This is my seventh year, and that's my family," she said. "It's my heart. It's New York to me."
WIig isn't the only star possibly headed for the door — reports say digital-short mastermind Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis will walk as well. Those would be big shoes to fill, and "SNL" executive producer Lorne Michaels seems hip to the vacancies, given his tryout of actress Kate McKinnon last weekend's Sofia Vergara-hosted show.
Wiig has a slew of movie projects on the burner as well as the completed cougar romance "Imogene," costarring "Glee" guy Darren Criss.
Do you think it's time for Wiig to hit the road? Take our poll below and leave your thoughts in comments.
Kristen Stewart cleaned up on her 22nd birthday, from quality time with Robert Pattinson to some via-satellite love from Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.
As Stewart, she of "The Twilight Saga" fame, turned one year past that of legal drinking age in the U.S., it was fitting she enjoyed a low key celebration in a Hollywood bar, her on-screen vampire beau beside her.
At nightspot Harvard & Stone, the couple enjoyed cocktails in intimate upper-level seating, according to E! News.
"They were having lots of drinks on the top floor of the bar and seemed to be having fun," a source claimed.
Joined by friends, Pattinson and Stewart took interest in some dancing ladies flanking the space as "the bar had a burlesque show which took place every 30 minutes and they were watching that."
We, on the other hand, can't stop watching Stewart's evil queen. Charlize Theron, the serial-killing monarch in "Snow White and the Huntsman," wished KStew a happy birthday via YouTube. Check out Charlize's video card and a second clip from "Huntsman" Chris Hemsworth below.
Jennifer Lopez is vying for multitasker of the week, given the activities she's indulged in over the last few days: the release of a super-sexy music video, date night with boyfriend Casper Smart and a stop to see the Easter Bunny.
Indeed, "Dance Again," Lopez's uptempo track with rapper Pitbull, has been on lots of lips thanks to its sexual content and its co-star: Smart himself.
The video sees Lopez and Smart bump-and-grinding in an anti-gravity hotel suite, and in another scenario enjoying some high-fashion bondage, securing each other with a blindfold reading "Love is blind."
Some critics think the clip is too hot for TV, but the Ministry isn't fazed. In fact, it's nice to see that Smart is working with some decent moves, as his day job is that of a dancer.
Following their video romp, Lopez and Smart went for lighter fare Thursday, taking her and Marc Anthony's twins for a visit to see the Easter Bunny. Hitting up L.A. shopping mecca the Grove, Lopez rocked a white track suit and toted her kids by the hand to the furry candy creature.
A quick change ensued and the kids were passed off as Lopez and Smart stuck around for a date night, walking just a few hundred feet to the Grove's adjoining Farmer's Market, where they attended an opening for famed hospitality guru Robert Earl's new joint, Planet Dailies.
The interactive eatery's launch drew J.Lo pal Mario Lopez, as well as former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cee-Lo Green, Joe Manganiello, Piers Morgan, designer Tommy Hilfiger, George Lopez and "Mad Men" cutie Sam Page.
Mingling led to cocktails in the adjoining Mixology 101 lounge, where Lopez's efforts came full circle as she and Smart screened the "Dance Again" video for the crowd.
If only we could look as good multitasking. Check out the video below.
