Marie Osmond 'all the way better' after bronchitis bout

Marie Osmond, in 2007, says she's recovered from bronchitis

Marie Osmond says she is "all the way better" after having bronchitis that landed her in the hospital. And after all the fuss that was made, "I think I laughed my bronchitis away."

Osmond made the recent comments on Twitter, to followers expressing concern. The 52-year-old entertainer canceled a couple of shows the weekend of Oct. 22 over allergies, then found herself in the hospital last week after it morphed into bronchitis and her throat wasn't "cooperating."  But, as she told People, it was just "a cough. ... It was a big deal that was made from nothing."

So forget that silliness. Osmond's focus Monday was on Halloween, thanks to her kids.

She's had eight of them and has been married three times -- just two husbands, though. She and Stephen Craig, her first husband, whom she remarried in May, together have Stephen James, 28. With second husband Brian Blosil, she has seven kids. The couple had Rachael Lauren, now 22, and Matthew Richard, 12, and adopted Jessica Marie, now 23; Brandon Warren, 14; Brianna Patricia, 14; Abigail Michelle, 9; and Michael Bryan, who took his own life in April 2010 last year at age 20.  Michael's suicide was a difficult point in Osmond's life, but her family rallied around her.

Sunnier times, though, have followed:

"Brandon's going Goth," Osmond tweeted. "Bri is going 'day of the dead' painted face. Matt and Abi have changed their minds about 40 times. Must be my kids!"

Marie Osmond back in action after allergies turn into bronchitis

Marie Osmond has bronchitis

Marie Osmond fans need not panic: Though the singer was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital for tests earlier this week, she didn't skip a beat, returning to the stage the next night without missing a show.

"So the allergies went into a bronchitis," Osmond said early Thursday on Twitter, referencing allergies that had resulted in two shows being cancelled last weekend. "Didn't realize it until I went to hit the high notes last night on stage. Pie Jesu was kinda P-U."

Marie, 52, and her brother Donny Osmond put on a 90-minute gig regularly at the Flamingo hotel. Last Friday, she had apologized online for nixed shows that night and the next, saying, "I don't even feel that bad...just that my throat is not cooperating because of allergies. Love ya, guys."

An Osmond rep, confirming the bronchitis diagnosis to Reuters, said that after finishing up her part of the show Wednesday night, Marie had gone through a couple of hours of tests.

"Forever the trouper, #MarieOsmond went the distance tonight, a full 90 mins, 24 hours after a trip to ER for bronchial issues," the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Norm Clarke reported Thursday night via Twitter.

Marie Osmond remarries first husband Stephen Craig [Video]

Marie Osmond remarries first husband Stephen CraigMarie Osmond got married Wednesday to someone she's known a long time: She remarried first husband Stephen Craig, whom she divorced in 1985 after three years of marriage.

Osmond, 51, and Craig, 54 were married in a private ceremony at the Las Vegas Mormon temple, with a reception following at their nearby home.

"I am so happy and look forward to sharing my life with Stephen, who is an amazing man as well as a great father to my children," Osmond told People magazine.

The pending remarriage had been rumored for months, an Access Hollywood source said, with People noting that the choice of wedding date has significance for the bride: It's the birthday of both Marie's late mom, Olive, and her late son, Michael.

The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising student, who'd changed his name from Michael Blosil to Michael Bryan shortly before his death at age 18, committed suicide in February 2010 in downtown Los Angeles.

Osmond and Brian Blosil, Michael's father, divorced in 2007 after nearly 20 years of marriage. Brian Blosil didn't attend his son's funeral, the singer told Oprah Winfrey in November, because his siblings "knew that Michael wouldn't want him there," Osmond said, "and they didn't want him there." In addition to Stephen and Michael, Osmond has six other children -- four daughters and two other sons.

Osmond reportedly wore the same wedding dress Wednesday that she donned the first time around with Craig, who was a basketball player at Brigham Young University.

See the couple back in the day with Stephen, their son together, and the rich-and-famous voice of Robin Leach in the video below.

Marie Osmond discusses her son Michael's death

Marie Osmond on the Oprah Winfrey Show Marie Osmond opened up about her son Michael Blosil's death, talking about his suicide note, about the call from him she missed on her way out the door that day, about people from the coroner's office showing up at their home in the middle of the night with news, about helping to prepare his body for burial.

Speaking with Oprah Winfrey in an interview that aired Thursday, the singer described "Mike" — who had changed his name to Michael Bryan — as "so fun. And cute. And darling. It wasn't until my son started using drugs that I saw him change."

Blosil had attempted suicide once before, while his mom was on "Dancing With the Stars" and he was in rehab, but Osmond said he'd promised he would never try again. When she saw him a month before his death, he told her he'd "never been happier."

No drugs were found in Blosil's system after he jumped to his death Feb. 26 from a downtown L.A. apartment high rise. He was a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Brian Blosil did not attend his son's funeral because his siblings "knew that Michael wouldn't want him there," Osmond said, "and they didn't want him there."

Osmond also took time to quash speculation that Blosil was gay and had taken his life for that reason. "My son was not gay," she said. "He wanted to be married and have a family and travel all over the world. And it wouldn't matter if he was — I have a daughter who is gay, and it was my daughter who was offended" by the implication that all gay people commit suicide.

Rather, Osmond said, her son told her the day before his death that he was lonely and isolated — feelings that brought her back to her own post-partum depression.

"It was the first time I heard him start to cry and say he was alone," she said. "That he had no friends. That he felt despair."

10/10/10: Celebrity scandals from a spicy year so far

6a00d8341c630a53ef01348544e626970c-pi[1] Batten down the hatches -- it's 10/10/10, a day of some sort of reckoning, because humans enjoy these kinds of mathematical patterns, yes? (That said, those who pay attention to such things might surmise that the new moon of 10/7/10 was probably a more auspicious date, in terms of big-picture life shakeups. But we digress.)

It's a time to take 10 and look back on a year that brought us the "breakup" of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the lurrrrve patterns of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the brain bleeds of Bret Michaels, the upskirt photography and "Hannah Montana"-ditching and gay-man grinding and envelope-pushing of an "OMG I'm almost 18 now!" Miley Cyrus, and nationwide auditions for "Glee," which if nothing else revealed an insane lack of reading comprehension among the youth of America.

And don't forget the deaths of Corey Haim, Andrew Koenig and "Deadliest Catch" Capt. Phil Harris, and the arrest of Jake Harris.

But moving forward, we present 10 spicy celebrity scandals and sagas from the first 10 months of 2010. It's enough to leep you talking about for at least 10 minutes -- or you can chat about a different story with 10 different people.

10. Artie Lange, Howard Stern's sidekick, attempted suicide in January by stabbing himself nine times, only to be rescued in time when his mom stopped by to bring him food. He's recovered now, playing his first club standup date Sept. 26, coincidentally one day after the accidental prescription drug overdose of comic Greg Giraldo, on whom the plug was pulled Sept. 29.

9. Casey Johnson, heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune and "fiancee" of Tila Tequila, was found dead on Jan. 4. Johnson's death was ruled to be the result of natural causes including not attending to her diabetes, but Tequila worked it for all it was worth. Oh yeah, Miss Tila's trying to get a sex tape with an old boyfriend pulled from the market now, but the judge pretty much laughed at her.

Marie Osmond's son was drug-free at time of his suicide

Marie-funeral Michael Bryan, the son of Marie Osmond and Brian Blosil who jumped from a downtown L.A. apartment on Feb. 26, had no drugs in his system at the time of his death, which the coroner's office officially ruled a suicide in a report released Wednesday.

The cause of the 18-year-old's death was given as multiple blunt traumas, KTLA reports.

Blosil mug Bryan, a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising who had changed his name from Michael Blosil, told close friend Ruthann Clawson that he had attempted suicide previously, TMZ reports. Clawson was the person Bryan texted before jumping, telling her there was a letter for her on his bed.

He'd spent time in rehab for undisclosed reasons in November 2007. Marie Osmond and Brian Blosil split in March 2007 after more than two decades of marriage.

Marie returned the Las Vegas stage with brother Donny Osmond on March 9, the day after Michael's funeral, dedicating the song "Requiem" to her "angel." Days later, more shows were canceled as Marie struggled with her grief.

In rainy downtown L.A., a memorial for Michael Blosil

Michael-blosil-memorial Los Angeles faced microbursts of rain and flash flood warnings on Saturday, the day after Michael Blosil, the son of Marie Osmond and her ex-husband Brian Blosil, took his own life downtown.

Non-Angelenos reading this might not realize the degree to which heavy rain shuts down this city -- still, shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, a tiny memorial could be found on the sidewalk outside the Met apartment building on South Flower Street where Blosil lived.

A couple of passers-by commented quietly to one another -- "Is that ... ?" "Yeah, it is" -- and walked briskly on their way.
