Kate Hudson not secretly married to Matt Bellamy, Goldie Hawn says

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy

Kate Hudson and fiance/baby daddy Matt Bellamy aren't secretly married, no matter what mom Goldie Hawn may have said — but may not have meant — about her daughter in a recent interview with a British magazine.

Hawn set the record straight Monday via Twitter, but not before a flurry of stories had erupted over her reported choice of words in an article published in ES, the Evening Standard's magazine. RadarOnline presented it as an exclusive Friday night that Hawn had either spilled the beans or had a slip of the tongue about Hudson's marital status.

"My kids are fantastic with their children, they have an amazing parental ethic and I'm very proud of them for that," Hawn reportedly told ES. "When my daughter Kate married an English rock star [Matt Bellamy] it didn't worry me; all that matters is that the relationship is a good one."

Never mind that Radar had qualified it as a possible slip of the tongue: The Vancouver Sun was one outlet that by Monday had turned it into a story with a headline touting Hudson's "secret wedding" to the father of her baby boy, Bing, born last July. The Sun even threw in a pretty big dig: "Goldie Hawn's big mouth has graduated from spoiling mediocre films to her own daughter's wedding."

Ouch. But back to setting the record straight.

"So are kate and Matt really married," a follower asked Hawn via Twitter on Monday, "or are the press twisting your words.....as they do.....again! lol."

"Darling," Hawn replied, "once again twisted the truth. They aren't married. Xx"

Kate Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy have chosen a baby name: Bingham Hawn Bellamy, or "Bing" for short.

"So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy. Born 7Ib 12Oz, on 9th July," the Muse frontman said Thursday on Twitter.

While it might sound a tad celebrity-wacky, there's actually family logic behind the choice, Bellamy explained. His mom's maiden name was Bingham, and her mom's -- well, Kate's mom is Goldie Hawn. Hudson was raised by Hawn and her longtime partner Kurt Russell, whose dad is Bing Russell.

"Family connections all round!," Bellamy said.

Despite having delivered son Ryder Robinson -- her child with ex-husband Chris Robinson -- via C-section seven years ago, Hudson mixed it up this time around and, according to Bing's dad, went through "4.5 hours of intense pushing."

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have a baby boy

Kate Hudson gave birth on Saturday night in L.A., delivering an answer the question she decided to keep a surprise until the last minute: It's a boy!

The baby is her first child with fiance Matt Bellamy of Muse and a brother to Ryder, her 7-year-old son with ex-husband and Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. Hudson's rep confirmed the birth Sunday morning.

The new parents reportedly plan to some spend time together in London, where Bellamy is recording a new album.

Time to break into those gender-neutral shower gifts! Seems the "pendulum test" she discussed in April -- the test that indicated a girl was on the way -- might need a little recalibration.

Kate Hudson had her baby shower on Sunday While a raucous award ceremony rolled out a world away in L.A. on Sunday, expectant mom Kate Hudson was quietly showered by famous friends and family in Malibu.

The Academy Award-nominated actress was toasted at a private estate in the beach community with around 80 guests, reports People, including pals Courteney Cox, stylist Rachel Zoe, Jessica Capshaw and Jennifer Meyer Maguire

"She looked amazing and kept giggling while mingling with friends, nibbling on food and playing games," a source told the magazine. "She seemed to have the best time."

Hudson, pregnant with rocker-fiance Matt Bellamy's baby, is due in July. She's reportedly requested not to learn the little one's sex, so guests brought gender-neutral gifts.

After the girly bash, Hudson threw on a flowy black evening gown to attend a benefit for Chanel and the Natural Resources Defense Council's Ocean Initiative. Bellamy was by her side all evening at the affair, held at the home of Ron and Kelly Meyer (Jennifer's parents and Tobey Maguire's in-laws).

'Something Borrowed' premiere: Kate Hudson, John Krasinski, Ginnifer Goodwin get a little gushy [Video]

If there's one thing that Hollywood seems to love, it's a good ol' romantic comedy about a wedding — something we were reminded of at the premiere of "Something Borrowed" in Hollywood on Tuesday night.

Something Borrowed movie pictures With offerings such as "Bride Wars" and "27 Dresses," the industry has in recent years churned out a string of nuptial films that have resonated at the box office. "Something Borrowed," an adaptation of Emily Giffin's bestselling novel, will try to follow in that tradition when it hits theaters Friday.

But why do audiences generally respond so positively to movies about marriage?

"Not to sound too gushy, but weddings are really fun. They're super romantic and super thrilling," star John Krasinski surmised Tuesday at the film's Hollywood premiere. "There's something about weddings that bring friends together, brings family together and hopefully brings out the best in you — and sometimes not. I think people can really feed off that energy."

Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays Kate Hudson's best friend in the movie, said she believed people responded to films about weddings because they inspire self-reflection about one's own relationships.

"It's a moment of such immense life change, and it's a commitment that has to be approached with real self-analysis and assurance," she said.

But "Something Borrowed" isn't your average film about the high-jinks that can ensue in the time leading up to a wedding, Hudson insisted.

"It kind of asks questions that are a little more serious than you would get in a normal [romantic comedy]," she said. "I think it's really relatable and a definite conversation piece — which is, 'Is it OK to cheat if you love somebody?' "

As for her own thoughts on that issue, Hudson wouldn't offer much.

Kate Hudson is engaged to Matt Bellamy, and the word's out thanks to Matt Lauer's detective work [Video]

Kate Hudson is engaged to Muse singer Matt Bellamy -- and it took a week for anyone to notice!

The star of the upcoming rom-com "Something Borrowed" spilled the beans to Matt Lauer on Wednesday's "Today" show. The host was interviewing her about the film -- co-starring Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski and Colin Egglesfield -- when he noticed the huge rock strategically placed on her hand.

"Could you place your hand in my hand for a second, please? I just want to see something," Lauer said.

Hudson giggled and gave him her hand. A camera close-up revealed a gigantic diamond perched on her ring finger.

Kate Hudson's engagement ring"Is this new?" he asked.

"This is new!" Hudson said. "I haven't really announced it, I was waiting for someone to notice."

Apparently Bellamy proposed a week ago. Is it us or has she been flying under the radar? How did the papz miss that?

The actress and the British rocker, both 32, have not yet set a date. But the couple is expecting a baby together. Pregnancy news broke in January, and she is in her third trimester.

Hudson, the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, was married to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson for nearly six years. They divorced in October 2007 and have a 7-year-old son named Ryder.

Here's hoping this musician is a keeper. Congrats, Kate!

After Miranda Kerr and Rachel Zoe, the pressure's on Kate Hudson to lose that baby fat already, would ya?

KerrKate Hudson is expecting! Evangeline Lilly has a bun in the oven! Mariah Carey is pregnant with just the precious-est twins ever!

Uh, yay?

Preach It! has never managed to summon the proper amount of glee when a star gets knocked up. We get it: We’re the celebrity gossip media; we’re supposed to go squee! and trot out phrases like “baby bumpin’!” and “baby joy!” and run photos of “beautifully pregnant” and “glowing” starlets shopping for tiny clothes at boutiques no one else can afford.

But maybe we’re less than enthused because of what’s happening -- with increasing speed -- after these kids arrive. We speak, of course, of mommy’s weight loss. The media tend to use the cutesy phrase “body after baby” -- the impossible size-2-to-0 figure that starlets are expected to reclaim in less time than it takes for a Gabor to drop a fur coat onto a divan.

Usually, we’re talking a pretty tight weight-loss window: A few months, perhaps. Miranda Kerr, for example, is looking pretty much the way she used to after four months of motherhood.

But that “body after baby” time frame appears to be, well, shrinking. After initially lying about her pregnant state, celebu-stylist Rachel Zoe eventually gave birth to a boy last month. Fast-forward three weeks, and Zoe is padding around Los Angeles looking as scrawny as she was in her heyday. How do we know? Because of the headlines, of course.

“Rachel Zoe Shows Off Her Post-Baby Body,” SocialiteLife simpered.

“Rachel Zoe is skinny again,” is how Hollyscoop put it.

And, per the stiffer upper lips of Britain’s Daily Mail: “Rachel Zoe regains her slender form just three weeks after giving birth.”

At this rate, we’ll be demanding that Hudson drop her weight before she even pops out that baby.

Forgive us if we fail to squee.

Kate Hudson's pregnant; father is Matthew Bellamy of Muse

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy are expecting a baby Kate Hudson is 14 weeks pregnant, expecting a baby with boyfriend Matthew Bellamy, the frontman of the band Muse.

This is a second child for the actress, 31, and the first for Bellamy, 32. Ryder, the actress' son with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, is 7.

"It was not planned, but they are excited and embracing it," a source told Us Weekly, which first reported the news.

Hudson and Bellamy have been dating for about nine months, said People, which quoted a source as saying, "They couldn't be more excited." (You do the math.)

Hudson's parents are actress Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson -- the latter of whom is reportedly shopping a tell-all exposé about the former, in which he accuses Goldie of being "a movie star who enjoyed having 'open relationships' and limiting access to their children." Father and kids Kate and Oliver Hudson ("Rules of Engagement") have been estranged since the parents' 1979 divorce.

"What he really wants is a relationship with his children and he hopes this will help," Bill Hudson's agent told Page Six.

Interesting problem-solving approach?

Kate-hudson Does Kate Hudson now have something in common with Heidi Montag?

We're totally kidding, people! That's like saying a Double Down and a Lean Cuisine have something in common, because they're both food.

Nonetheless, Us Weekly reports that Goldie Hawn's daughter had a small breast augmentation in late March, according to a source, and photos seem to back up that assertion.
