Will and Kate light up 'War Horse' London premiere

Will and Kate attend the London premiere of War Horse
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his bride, Catherine, stepped out in the London rain to celebrate the premiere of "War Horse" on Sunday.

At a screening on the West End the newlyweds met Hollywood royalty Steven Spielberg and his star, Jeremy Irvine (also a Brit), sharing the same carpet with Joey — the horse that shares top billing with Irvine.

"The fact that they're here to watch my fat face on a cinema screen is bizarre," Irvine said, according to People. "It's such a thrill. And also for their charity. It's a great cause."

After the film, the couple hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace in the Queen's Gallery to benefit the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which works to help returning soldiers adjust to civilian living.

In floor-length sparkling Alice Temperley gown, Duchess Kate was probably excited for some glamour. On Monday she'll turn 30, with reports indicating she'll enjoy a low-key celebration with friends and family.

Victoria Beckham thanks David, kids for British fashion honor

Victoria Beckham wins brand of the year at British Fashion Awards

Victoria Beckham's eponymous clothing and accessories line has transformed from pet project to fashion force: The former Spice Girl and footballer's wife took Brand of the Year at Monday night's British Fashion Awards.

Beckham, who was presented the award by designer Marc Jacobs, attributed her success to husband and soccer star David Beckham, and their four kids.

"Without David I wouldn’t have had the courage to do what I am doing," she told the Daily Mail backstage.

David echoed her sentiments on his Facebook page saying, "the boys and I are incredibly proud of Victoria after winning a prestigious British Fashion Award tonight. She has worked so hard and deserves all the recognition."

Beckham's signature cocktail looks, always a tight fit and feminine with hardware detail including exposed zippers, are red carpet favorites among ladies such as Eva Longoria and Heidi Klum.

Other big winners at the British Fashion Awards included Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who made the little-seen wedding dress of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Stella McCartney.

Tallulah Willis debuts in Paris with daddy Bruce, but no Demi

Tallulah Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, has officially entered high society with the help of her dad, her sisters and some haute couture.

Tallulah, at 17 the youngest in the Willis clan, showed to Paris' swanky Hotel de Crillon on Saturday for the annual Le Bal des Débutantes, the traditional unveiling of eligible young women into the social fold.

Sisters Rumer and Scout, the latter of whom debuted at the Crillon in 2009, showed to cheer on Tallulah, who donned a floor-length black Lanvin gown with a jeweled bust.

PHOTOS: Stars' children follow in their footsteps

Matriarch Demi Moore was absent from the celebration, as she's presumably preoccupied with divorce proceedings in Los Angeles,  but Bruce was on hand to toast his baby.

"He was a little different than three years ago [when Scout was a debutante], more reserved," an onlooker told People. "He was there for his daughter, but protective. It wasn't until around midnight when he danced with Tallulah that you saw him become more relaxed."

The Willis gang, including dad's second wife, Emma Heming Willis, skipped Thanksgiving at home and arrived in Paris a few days before the big event, as seen in the video above.

Also, thanks to Emma and Bruce, Tallulah Belle Willis won't be the youngest in the family for much longer:  Their first baby together is due early next year.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy delivers a first daughter for France

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is a new mom
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and her husband, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, have welcomed their first child, a little girl named Giulia. Bonjour, first daughter.

Bruni, a model and singer before her role as French first lady, delivered around 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clinique de la Muette in Paris.

"I am deeply touched by the many messages of congratulations that I have received since the birth of our daughter Giulia," Bruni-Sarkozy wrote on her official website, confirming the news.

"On this happy occasion, my husband joins me in expressing our warmest thanks to all those of you who sent us these tokens of your kindness."

The couple intended to keep the news private, but one report said that an official visit to a waste management plant melted the leader's heart, as employees offered gifts of congratulations for the new arrival.

"We are lucky ... all parents here can understand our very profound joy, a joy all the deeper because it is private," President Sarkozy told the staff, according to the Telegraph.

Bruni most recently appeared in Woody Allen's "Midnight In Paris." The couple previously expressed the desire that images of their daughter will not be sold or shared with media.

Bijou Phillips, Danny Masterson marry in Ireland, not Iceland

Bijou Phillips and Danny Masterson are married

This post has been corrected, as detailed below.

Actors Bijou Phillips and Danny Masterson have finally tied the knot, after an eight-year courtship.

In the lush Irish countryside, the couple wed before friends and family in a castle with the landscape of Tipperary behind them, says People.

Masterson and Phillips got engaged in 2009, but as we told you last year, the couple hit a roadblock: Volcano Eyjafjallajokull. You heard us: That massive volcanic ash cloud that grounded flights and kept journalists tongue-tied also put the kibosh on the couple's planned nuptials in Iceland.

"I was going to get married in Iceland, but then it blew up. That volcano! We have to kind of postpone everything ... " Phillips told us at the time."It's hard for two actors to set a date, because a movie will come up or something, but it's harder not to date another actor. He totally gets it; he's like, 'I'll see you in a few months.' "

Eighteen months later and they're finally man and wife.

Masterson, of "That '70s Show" fame, had brother Chris as his best man. The bride wore a custom Zac Posen gown while her beloved went for a suit designed by Albert Hammond Jr. of the Strokes, part of a capsule collection for Masterson's Los Feliz boutique Confederacy.

Additional guests included actors Chris Mena and Ben Foster.

[For the record, 6 p.m. Oct. 20: This post originally gave designer Albert Hammond Jr.'s first name incorrectly as Alfred. Thanks to those who flagged it in comments.]

George Clooney, Stacy Keibler, Catherine Deneuve party in Paris

Stacy Keibler and George Clooney in Paris

For George Clooney and Stacey Keibler, dinner and a movie means French cuisine, a red carpet and rubbing elbows with Catherine Deneuve in the Paris rain.

The new couple, who took their budding romance public just last month at the Toronto International Film Festival, stepped out in Paris for the French premiere of Clooney's "The Ides of March."

Beaming in a slate-colored gown with a jeweled bust, Kiebler was escorted by Clooney down the press line and into the theater before a pit stop to their hotel at Place Vendome. An after-party followed for the pair at swanky L'Arc restaurant on the Champs-Elysées, according to People.

"They came around 11:30," a partygoer told the mag, "and stayed until well past 2:30 in the morning. They hugged some together, but weren't what you would call very kissy-kissy in public. [But] he is remarkably attentive towards her."

Inside L'Arc, the couple munched on tomato and basil pasta and grilled sole. Clooney's table contained French film legend Catherine Deneuve and actress Juliette Binoche, along with his former pro-westler date. "Ides" costar Phillip Seymour Hoffman was spotted, as was Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco's royal family.

George Clooney expects skinny dipping at his Lake Como pad

George Clooney requires skinny dipping at Lake Como

At George Clooney's luxurious Lake Como spread in Italy, we'd imagine house rules like removing shoes before entering, rising earlier than the host and mandatory consumption of limoncello. Turns out all you have to do is get naked.

Skinny dipping "is a tradition at my house!" Clooney revealed to Us magazine at Wednesday's New York premiere of "The Ides of March."

"It's funny. Some people skinny-dip, but I always go upstairs and put a suit on and then I jump in the lake," he said.

We'll suspend our disbelief on that last bit, but just think of all the famous folks who have donned their birthday suits to swim in Clooney's neighborhood lake. Or don't, because Georgie was kind enough to take the guesswork out of methods he employs to get pals to disrobe.

"Let me tell you. First I got Walter Cronkite to jump in. Then I got David Gergen to jump in. And I used Walter Cronkite to get Gergen to jump in. And I used Marisa [Tomei] and Evan [Rachel Wood] in the lake to get Charlie Rose to jump in," he said.

Warning: Be selective in perusing those mental images. We certainly were.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Five tasty moments from her Emmy weekend

Gwyneth Paltrow recalls her Emmy experience

Gwyneth Paltrow, that vessel through which acting, red-carpet gowns and lifestyle advice flows, on Thursday shared an account of Emmy weekend via her lifestyle blog, Goop.

Yeah, we're excited. No, we're not hiding it. So excited, in fact, that we've narrowed down the so-called scrapbook to five must-know moments from the Emmy winner's adventures on the award circuit.

TV in the DNA: Paltrow's win at the Creative Arts Emmys — for guest actress in a comedy series — and subsequent presenter duties Sept. 18 on the prime-time telecast held special significance in the actress' creative family. Her late father, Bruce Paltrow, who produced shows including "St. Elsewhere," never took home a trophy.

"This was especially meaningful, as my father ... had been nominated and lost the Emmys nine times. So I'm pretty chuffed about the whole thing. And my dad would have been over the moon," she wrote.

Mileage: The scrapbook gives GP's travel timeline, which was considerable. The "Contagion" star left Paris on Saturday morning from the Eiffel Tower-proximate Shangri-La Hotel, hopped the Eurostar back to London to take her kids to a play, then boarded a direct flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Tina Fey Fanning out: Gwyneth is a big TV fan, and not only  from her residency on "Glee." She nabbed Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer of "30 Rock" for a fan photo, saying she lives for the funny pair.

Mopping up: While hair and makeup was a breeze, her Pucci gown was sewn to perfection and traffic was easy on Paltrow, she did have an issue with her show seat.

"The seat filler before me was sweaty ... so my chair was wet," she recalled. "Gross!"

Respect thy fashion: Despite her cool blond decorum, it's obvious that Gwyneth adores clothes and accessories. Witness by these major queeny references to her garb:

"These beauties are going back to Neil Lane. Bye bye girls. I will miss you," she said of earrings, two bracelets and a ring by the jeweler. And...

"She needs to get whisked back to Paris," Paltrow said of her Pucci gown.

Kanye West to debut his women's collection at Paris Fashion Week

Kanye West

Kanye West is headed to Paris Fashion Week, but don't expect to find him on his usual front-row perch. Come October, the rapper will be debuting his own clothing collection instead.

Though news of his womenswear line was confirmed in July, it was uncertain when West would debut it and how: a large-scale fashion event, or a quiet run-through for high-profile editors?

Predictably, Mr. West isn't starting small. During the Parisian runway shows, arguably the most important to the global industry, Kanye has a calendar listing on the heels of master Jean Paul Gaultier and label Loewe. He'll show at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 1.

West collaborated on the duds with Christine Centenera, fashion editor for Australian Harper's Bazaar, which tres surprisingly broke the news of his participation in the upcoming shows. Perhaps his stylish new role will now ensure unfettered access to after-parties.

West adds this full-scale garment design effort to a 2009 sneaker collaboration with Louis Vuitton. That of course along with his day job, watching the throne.

Madonna thanks exes Sean Penn, Guy Ritchie for creative support

Madonna gives Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie a sweet shout out

Madonna has descended upon the Venice International Film Festival with her second directorial effort, "W.E.," about parallel love stories centering around the famous romance between American divorcee Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII.

Invoking her own love stories, the 53-year-old entertainer appeared to be making this her "No Hard Feelings" tour, talking about ex-husbands Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie with surprising candor and positivity.

Seriously.

"I am and was attracted to very creative people which is why I married Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie, two very talented directors," she said at the festival. "They both encouraged me as a director and as a creative person to do what I did, and they were both very supportive."

We applaud the maturity in Madonna's sentiments (seems like hanging out with younger friends agrees with her).

Madonna said she identified with the stylish but prickly Simpson -- a woman the king found more irresistible than the throne, which he abdicated in order to marry her in 1936 -- from the point of being a public figure or celebrity.

"We are often reduced to a soundbite and ... you're given a few attributes and then you're not allowed to have anything more than that," she said.

New to Simpson's famous style? Check out this video from Vanity Fair's profiles of the world's best dressed women.
