Hilary Duff is pregnant, expecting a baby with Mike Comrie, her husband of one year.

"I can’t believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you’re having fun! We also want to share the exciting news that ... BABY MAKES THREE," she wrote in a wedding anniversary post on her official website.

"We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives."

Wait, wasn't it just May when Duff was telling "Access Hollywood" she and Comrie thought that a baby could "wait just a little while longer," so she could record a new album? Guess the couple has now defined "a little while." 

"Wow! I am just overwhelmed by all of the wonderful messages everyone is sending!," the 23-year-old said on Twitter a few hours after the announcement went up. "Thank you so much! Big hugs! Xxo."

Comrie, a 30-year-old free agent most recently with the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced last week that he'll be taking time off from hockey to allow full post-surgical rehab on his hip.

Hilary Duff marries hockey player Mike Comrie in Montecito

Pop star and actress Hilary Duff married longtime beau Mike Comrie on Saturday evening, a new report says. 

After three years of courtship, the couple wed in front of 100 guests at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, according to OK! magazine. 

Duff, in a Vera Wang mermaid bridal gown, was given away by her mother, Susan Duff (in Badgley Mischka). Hilary's sister, Haylie, served as maid of honor, with four bridesmaids completing the bridal party.

Comrie is a professional ice hockey player who took up with Duff in 2007. This is the first marriage for both.

Who found the NHL first, Carrie Underwood or Hilary Duff? The actress and Mike Comrie, her Edmonton Oiler boyfriend, are engaged. The proposal happened last weekend while the two were vacationing in Hawaii, Duff's publicist confirmed in a statement today.  

Hilary, who last year appeared on six episodes of "Gossip Girl" and this year has a couple on tap, had been spotted wearing a ring on Monday in Hawaii. On Wednesday, HollywoodLife confirmed that they weren't engaged -- was Hilary's mom having a little fun at media expense?

And, using our sarcastic voice, we suppose this means that she and Joe Jonas really aren't an item, and that Joe's my-parents-are-her-neighbors tale is for real. Alas, when a dishy story can be made up, pictures often say the wrong 1,000 words.

But back to that first question -- Carrie met fiance Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators on March 21, 2008, when he met her backstage after a concert in Ottawa. Hilary began dating her Mike in 2007.

The NHL is currently on a break, incidentally, because of some little sporting event going on in Vancouver.
