Jessica-simpson-runway

Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Jordin Sparks Jessica Simpson, she of the stiletto-heeled shoe line and new denim collection, showed up as a surprise "Project Runway" judge Thursday in New York, hanging out with Nina Garcia, Michael Kors and Heidi Klum for the fashion competition show's finale.

To keep the finalists' identities a surprise -- the season is only six episodes in -- the 10 remaining designers all showed collections.

Opening the show, Klum told the audience, "I have never gotten so emotional or attached to the designers."

Other famous faces in the audience included Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Jordin Sparks. Spring 2011 fashion week in New York runs through Sept. 16.

Colin Hanks marries Samantha Bryant, luring A-list guests to a WeHo rooftop

Colin-hanks-web Colin Hanks married fiancée Samantha Bryant in West Hollywood on Saturday, People reports. Preparation for the A-list event at a hotel rooftop pool began Friday, says E! Online, and involved the gentle relocation -- free drinks included -- of a few hotel guests.

The actor and the publicist met through mutual friends and have been engaged since June, the mag says. Among the guests on top of the London Hotel: papa Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson; dad's buddy from the office, Steven Spielberg; a discreet Alyssa Milano; and Reese Witherspoon, whom Us Weekly reports got a loving smooch and hug from new beau Jim Toth as the ceremony ended.

Colin Hanks' mom is the late Samantha Lewes, the first wife of Tom Hanks (who, not surprisingly, did not tweet from the event). The 32-year-old's Fox show "The Good Guys" premieres May 19.

Other bursts of wedded bliss Saturday included Heidi Klum and Seal renewing their vows in Mexico and Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott doing the same in Beverly Hills.

[Updated at 11:30 a.m.: An earlier version of this post omitted the fact that Samantha Lewes passed away in 2002 at age 49. She's also the mother of Colin's sister Elizabeth.]

Star-spotting: 25 offbeat places to impress the guests

Hollywood Walk of Fame

The turkey was delicious, the mashed potatoes rich and creamy, and that pumpkin pie -- well, nobody threw it at Grandma, even after she decided to tell everyone they needed a haircut.

So it's Friday, and you're facing the brutal truth: The relatives aren't going home any time soon. They're up and raring to go, they've already done Disneyland and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the "Law & Order" marathon can go on only so long before someone takes the law into his or her own hands. Now what?

Celebrity Gallery [Updated on Feb. 25, 2010: Sorry for the inconvenience -- because of a technical problem with our photo gallery, the link below and the photo gallery link to the right no longer work. The star-spotting list is no longer available.]

Fear not, the Ministry is here to help.

We have a list (in the form of a photo gallery) of a few off-the-beaten-track sites celebrities have been known to frequent.

We can't guarantee you'll see George Clooney or Megan Fox during your trek, but we can offer some roll-of-the-dice spots where we've caught glimpses of the stars.

Check it out -- and leave us a comment sharing your favorite spot to see celebrities.

Hey, Heidi Klum! You said you wouldn't walk the Victoria's Secret runway!

Heidi The same night the "Project Runway" finale aired, host and supermodel Heidi Klum, she of the 5-week-old baby, took to a New York runway of her own, Us magazine reports.

Hey now! She said she was only going to host the Victoria's Secret show! See what happens when you try to keep someone from doing what they love?

And she sure looked happy doing it.

If you didn't make it into the audience at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York on Thursday night, check out the review at the Daily Beast, or  see what you missed when the "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" airs on CBS on Dec. 1.

Heidi Klum will skip the Victoria's Secret runway, bless her heart

Klum

Aren't celebrity moms, especially the supermodel variety, supposed to automatically lose that baby weight in no time flat, making the rest of female humanity feel "less than" for not being able to wear a bikini straight out of the delivery room?

If so, Heidi Klum deserves some sort of medal.

The "Project Runway" host, who gave birth Oct. 9, will not be taking her usual spot strutting her stuff in lingerie on the Victoria's Secret runway this year. Instead, E! Online reports, Mrs. Seal will host the event, which will be held Nov. 19 in New York.

The turnaround time was just a little too close for Klum's comfort, unlike in 2005, when she was in shape and on the VS runway within two months of her second child's September birth (new baby girl Lou Sulola Samuel is her fourth child).

Good call, Heidi.

Wait, in lingerie in public in two months?

Halloween costumes we wish we had thought of, celeb and otherwise

Baconeggs You know how it is the week after Halloween -- that leftover candy still tastes pretty dang good. Next week? Meh, not so much.

But it's NOT next week yet, and when it comes to a costume parade, Mediaite does it right -- it's worth the time to click through this roundup of Halloween creativity.

Happy surprise: Some of our favorite offerings don't appear to be from the stylists of the rich and famous.

The viral ensembles fairly ooze Web 2.0 -- especially, to our way of thinking, the elegant, understated fellow who came to work as Twitter's Fail Whale

More super-spooky Fail Whale festivities here. They have punkins!!
