Heidi Klum files for divorce from Seal

Heidi Klum has filed for divorce from Seal

Heidi Klum filed for divorce from Seal on Friday in L.A., making official what we knew was coming since they announced their separation back in January.

It's all pretty standard stuff, according to various reports, with Klum citing "irreconcilable differences," seeking joint legal and primary physical custody of their four children, and asking for her legal name to be changed back from Heidi Samuel — Henry Samuel being Seal's legal name.

According to TMZ, which first reported the news, the couple signed a post-nuptial agreement separating assets, so there's no community-property split to be hashed out.

A couple of days after the couple said they were dunzo, when both were still wearing their wedding bands, Seal kept alive the idea of reconciliation. "Is it irreparable?," he told Piers Morgan on CNN. "You can never say never. The thing I love most about us is that we are a team ... that won't change, whether we get back together or not."

Alas, it's looking like "not."

Elton John's Oscar party turns 20 with Klum, Kardashian, the kid

Fran Drescher, Elton John and John's son, Zach.

A 20th anniversary is an achievement in any arena, but it's a great cause for a rowdy celebration when it comes to an Oscar party franchise. That was the case Sunday with the staple Elton John AIDS Foundation viewing party and gala, held each year under the bespectacled eyes of Elton John and partner David Furnish.

The party's normal home at the Pacific Design Center is currently a dreadful mess of construction, so organizers moved just across the street to West Hollywood Park and constructed an impressive ballroom and party space.

Heidi Klum, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus, David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris, Dianna Agron and boyfriend Sebastian Stan were among dinner guests all buzzing about one important attendee: Elton and David's son Zachary.

At just over a year old, the little man was adorable in a miniature tuxedo monogrammed with his name. Zach was quite taken with a blue-haired Katy Perry, next to him, and the chocolate Pomeranian toted by Fran Drescher.

After dinner and the awards show, funnyman Joel McHale, Gwen Stefani and Kim and Kourtney Kardashian worked outdoor areas where dancing was inevitable and Ciroc cocktails flowed generously. Elton delivered a fiery speech in support of his foundation.

"Twenty years, 20 years since this disease came to the attention of people in this country," he said. "We have the tools for a cure, but the enemies of a cure are bigotry, stigma and greed."

The ballroom unanimously agreed. That political moment aside, folks seemed to enjoy Billy Crystal and the night's big winners.

"Last year I went to visit a friend at a hotel, and the cable was coming in so spotty," Agron recalled, "so I missed almost everything. This year I'm just thrilled to watch."

Heidi Klum describes Seal and herself as 'yin and yang'

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum and Seal are splitting up because -- why? Can someone remind us please, as the couple-in-love stuff just keeps on coming.

"I don't know why we work, my husband and I. We just do," the "Project Runway" host told InStyle UK, which she covers in March. "We are black and white -– yin and yang. To me, his beautiful face, great body, amazing heart, voice, his ability to be a loving, caring person and father ... what can I say?

Well, that was what she could say before they split up, we presume, given magazines' long lead time. Model Klum and singer Seal, parents of four, announced Jan. 23 that they were separating.

"I'm determined to mark our wedding every year with a really great party," Klum told the mag (via the New York Post). "We all work very hard and time goes by so fast and you can stumble over years without symbolic peaks in your life to remember -- so we create those."

The two have renewed their vows annually since their May 2005 wedding. Last week Seal told Ellen DeGeneres how much he and Heidi love and respect each other, even though they're breaking up.

Speaking in the present, however, Klum broke her post-split silence Tuesday. "Hi everyone, I want to thank u for all your support & kind words," she said on Twitter. "Really means so much. Thanks again...to the best fans in the world! xoHeidi."

One tidbit revealed by InStyle, having nothing to do with her relationship? Supermodel Klum says she's more about jewelry than clothes, and that the jewelry doesn't always have to be right on trend. Check out her cover-shoot video below.

Seal discusses split from Heidi Klum like a man in love [Video]

Seal with Ellen DeGeneres

Seal is publicly discussing his split from Heidi Klum, throwing around some pretty powerful language with Ellen DeGeneres: words like dignity, civility, respect, love.

He certainly doesn't sound like a guy who's breaking up with anyone, despite the separation that was rumored over the weekend and announced Monday.

Seal showered Klum with praise on Ellen's show, calling her this "great woman who I married" and noting that she'd given him "four wonderful gifts" in the form of their young children. But, he said, "You just grow apart after a while."

About the separation -- he was still wearing his wedding ring and said he had no plan to take it off soon -- "We were shocked because you go into these things with the greatest intentions, you know, when you say 'I do,' when you say 'Till death do us part,' those vows hold value. They're not just words."

Indeed, he and Klum had renewed their vows annually in the company of friends. "But these things happen," he said.

Though the word divorce hasn't been mentioned by Seal and wasn't said by the couple in their statement Monday, that's what Klum is planning, TMZ reports, adding info from sources who said Seal's temper and their careers played parts in the split.

The full interview airs Tuesday on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Heidi Klum and Seal splitting up after seven years together

Seal and Heidi Klum are separating

Heidi Klum and Seal -- are they splitting up? That was the question over the weekend, and on Sunday the couple confirmed the news: After seven years together, they are calling it quits.

"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart," the two told People exclusively in announcing their split.

The couple went their separate ways the Saturday night of Klum's 13th annual Halloween extravaganza. The "Project Runway" host showed up in Las Vegas as a dead body stripped of skin, while Seal was out on tour in Belgium. They teamed up that Monday as apes, however, for a second Halloween fest in New York City, held on the actual holiday. Klum recently attended the Golden Globe Awards solo.

In their statement, they described their relationship as "seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage," and their split as "amicable." The two had renewed their vows before friends each year, after he'd proposed with a massive rock in December 2004. They married five months later.

On the more gossipy side of things, sources told TMZ that any "third party" involved in the split may have been Seal's hot temper, combined with their careers taking them in different directions. "It was a long time in coming," one source told the website. Though the couple's statement says they're separating, TMZ is saying a divorce is in the cards.

The couple have four kids, three of them together: Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and newest daughter Lou, 2. Seal in 2009 adopted Leni, Heidi's daughter from a previous relationship.

Sightings: Heidi Klum and Sandra Bullock's girls night out

Sandra Bullock and Heidi Klum

While Heidi Klum is rumored to be heading to Broadway, she put on a more relaxed show this week with Sandra Bullock in Hollywood.

Supermodel-mom Klum and Bullock, an awards hopeful for "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," got their party on Wednesday, attending Beacher's Madhouse at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. They indulged in drinks and dancing at a private booth, according to Us magazine, rocking out to tunes including AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long."

"They were just having fun by themselves," an onlooker told the mag, "nothing scandalous or anything."

Always inclined toward a bit more scandal, Marilyn Manson recently showed some love to the Abbey, a staple among West Hollywood gay bars. In the company of Steven Hirsch, chairman of adult-amusement enterprise Vivid Entertainment, Manson downed Belvedere until last call.

Over in Hollywood, the Sayers Club continues to draw flurries of celeb traffic. On the heels of a Gerard Butler visit, Jason Scoppa's Thursday sessions drew the likes of Kevin Connolly, Bryan Greenberg, "Old Spice" hunk Isaiah Mustafa and Ricki Lake's "Dancing With the Stars" partner, Derek Hough.

Also digging an artistic vibe was Josh Hartnett, who rolled through Jeremy Kenyon Locker Corbell's Bunraku Art Experience at Chateau Marmont, along with Kevin McKidd, Ron Perlman and Guy Moshe.

Though it didn't go into the wee hours, dancing pair Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald of the "Footloose" remake made an appearance at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where they surprised the little patients with a screening of their film in partnership with Give Back Hollywood.

On the other coast, hot off their Emmys performance, the Lonely Island -- comprising "SNL's" Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone -- were spotted at the launch of a new contest where folks have a chance to battle the funnymen for a chance at producing a $1-million Super Bowl ad spot with Doritos.

Heidi Klum does not read lifestyle blogger Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop

Heidi Klum No hard feelings, Gwyneth Paltrow, but Heidi Klum isn't getting cheese board recommendations and Tracy Anderson workout tips from Goop.

Klum, supermodel-cum-mogul, is launching her own lifestyle blog, Heidi Klum on AOL -- and she wants to stay as original as possible.

"I usually don't go on other people's sites," Klum told the Ministry recently when asked whether she reads Goop, "just like I don't watch other people's TV shows. You know, with 'Project Runway' there were a few other shows that were compared to us, but ... I don't do it because I would never want to [read] and get ideas."

Indeed, Klum wants her product to be unique. It follows a Paltrow-esque format in that she breaks down the components of her own life -- fashion and beauty, fitness, design, crafts and kids -- and assigns each an expert who has helped her build her own identity.

"For years people have come up to me and asked what I'm wearing, what are my favorite toys for the kids ... and my experts are all respected in the industry," she said. "They're also my friends."

Klum, now versed in a variety of digital platforms, was dragged into the modern age by her husband, Seal.

"My husband is a tech wizard. He bought me my first computer! We would chat together back when you had a webcam that was the little ball on top," she recalled.

So will Seal be popping up on her site with some gadget tips?

"I'm sure," Klum said, "my husband's always game."

Heidi Klum goes sans pants for Stand Up to Cancer PSA

Heidi Klum for Stand Up to Cancer Heidi Klum is not a fan of cancer -- or pants -- in a super-cute new PSA for Stand Up to Cancer.

"If you don’t want to be OUT, you can be IN by joining me and the Stand Up to Cancer movement in the fight against cancer," Klum said in a statement echoing her "Project Runway" catch phrases.

"Let's all say Auf Wiedersehen to cancer together!"

The print campaign made its national debut in People's Most Beautiful 2011 issue, with cover girl Jennifer Lopez.

Klum is one of countless celebrity ambassadors for the organization, which raises funds for cancer research and treatment.

If you fancy the hoodie on Heidi, you can nab one at the organization's official website. All proceeds go to the charity -- Klum not included.

Kids' Choice Awards: Heidi Klum says Seal is already fretting about their kids' dating lives [Video]

Former supermodel Heidi Klum has four kids, hosts a television show called "Seriously Funny Kids" and still had time to show up at the Kids' Choice Awards this weekend.

So does that make her the Hollywood child-rearing authority?

"I don't think that I am the kid expert, no. I learned a lot about children. I wouldn't say that I know Kids Choice Awards everything, because I don't," she said on the orange carpet Saturday, before her Gucci dress got covered in green slime during the telecast. "Every age group then changes things again. I know up until a 7-year-old. But everything that comes above that, now, I don't really know how they then change, and then the boyfriends come. My husband [singer Seal] is already like, 'Oh, when the boyfriends come...'"

But she has learned a thing or two about how to interact with children, she acknowledged.

"There are no rules, really, when you're interviewing kids or when you work with kids, because you never really know what you can expect," she said. "Some are really chatty. Some ask me, like, 'Why are you asking me so many questions?' Or others are like, 'Can we do something different? This is boring. Can we dance, or can we paint?' And some just answer really nicely my questions."

As for Klum's own children? They didn't attend the Nickelodeon telecast, instead opting to hang out with their famous dad.

"They're at home with daddy, because he was away the last three weeks, so they're excited to be with their dad," she smiled.

Heidi Klum towers over her Halloween costume party

Heidi Klum and Seal in Halloween party costumes 2010 And what are you dressed as, not-so-little girl? Heidi Klum delivered her usual bell-ringing Halloween costume treat in New York on Sunday, showing up in a red-and-purple Transformers-inspired get-up and towering on stilts over shiny silver husband Seal.

The "Project Runway" host's recent costumes have included a cat, the snake (and apple) from the Garden of Eden, an Indian goddess and last year's crow.

While rocking a great recycling idea for old ski boots, and channeling Tyra Banks' forehead, Klum was joined by famous friends,

Heidi Klum costume party pictures including Miss Universe Jimena Navarette, designer Christian Siriano, mad doctor Ice-T and very naughty nurse Coco, and Kim Kardashian -- hey, have we seen that dress before, Little Red Riding Hood?

Click the photo of Kardashian, above, to launch a gallery of pictures from the Halloween party.

Funny, we thought Klum said she and Seal were going to simplify their costumes this year? Suppose it's all relative. Is it just us, or are those tiny, front-loading washing machines on Heidi's you-knows?

The party, held at Lavo, is in its 11th year.
