Kris Humphries calls split 'difficult,' finds solace in watch gig

Kris Humphries

For Kris Humphries, the pain of life's difficulties is eased by good friends — friends like the watch company that's paying him to endorse their product.

The unusual crutch helping Humphries through his divorce from Kim Kardashian comes courtesy of Sector watches, which just unveiled the 26-year-old as its spokesman.

The NBA player, unemployed thanks to the league's lockout, fetched a reported $150,000 for the campaign. But, he said, he got so much more than a bank account boost.

"As you all know, this has been a difficult time in my life, and I'm so grateful [for] my friends at Sector for their unwavering support," he said Thursday at a New York press conference.

Funny — the Ministry's watch reminds us only of how young we aren't getting and certainly doesn't offer cash rewards or even wavering support. But we're not jealous.

Kim's got her army of sisters and Twitter fans and the odd acting gig to see her through. We're glad you found a port in a storm, Kris. And by that we mean not a wrist accessory, but your own divorce attorney.

Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel cozy up at GQ Men of the Year

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was honored Thursday as one of 2011's  GQ Men of the Year, and brought a significant lady friend to be at his side -- former girlfriend Jessica Biel.

So are they back in full swing as a couple? It would seem so, as the pair were attached at the hip navigating the packed lobby and patio of the Chateau Marmont, eventually departing after midnight, hand in hand.

Back inside the party, another honoree commanded full attention of the crowd: dad-to-be Jay-Z. All  kinds of boldface names flocked for their five minutes with the mogul, including Jimmy Fallon, Lake Bell and Aziz Ansari.

Cutting a Sinatra-style figure in a black suit, and looking very lean, Jay-Z held court in a corner table while fellow man of the year Michael Fassbender charmed a group of ladies across the garden.

Joe Manganiello stuck out, literally, his towering frame grabbing attention alongside cast members from "Mad Men." The whole gang of Fox's "New Girl" turned up, including a whimsical Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson.

Anna Faris and husband Chris Pratt mostly hung out together, as did Armie Hammer and his bride, Elizabeth Chambers. Sadly for the Ministry, Jay-Z -- who would make it to Heavy D's funeral in New York the next day -- wasn't joined by his fabulous ball-and-chain, the pregnant Beyonce.

But as the focus of the party was dudes, plenty of them made strong and stylish showings over Grey Goose cocktails, including "Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson, Topher Grace, Anton Yelchin, Johnny Galecki, Kellan Lutz, John Cho, Adam Scott, Michael B. Jordan, Sam Paige and Eli Roth.

Rachel Bilson ponders a pantyless 'Hart of Dixie' PSA

Zoehart

Rachel Bilson is game for some equal-opportunity viral promotion when it comes to her show "Hart of Dixie."

After a spoof public service announcement made the YouTube rounds, with her costar Wilson Bethel preaching the benefits of baring one's chest, Bilson says a female response could happen.

"Like pantyless? I mean, it could happen," she told us at L.A.'s Sherbourne restaurant, where she was toasted as Nylon magazine's current covergirl.

"Is that weird? Is that CW?" she asked of her home network. "I don't think they'd do it, but I know a few other networks that would."

Jokes aside, we asked if life was different leading the medical drama, as opposed being part a large ensemble cast on her star-making "The O.C."

"Honestly, I just work a bit more," she said, "but my costars are amazing."

And supportive, it appears, with cast members Bethel and Deborah S. Craig turning up to cheer her on, along with Ashlee Simpson and her "Boardwalk Empire" boyfriend Vincent Piazza, Shenae Grimes, Trevor Donovan and Evan Ross.

Nylon editor in  chief Marvin Scott Jarret and American Eagle hosted several courses of deliciousness, over wine and conversation, complimenting Bilson on her fashion prowess and a successful flagship season for "Dixie."

Nightlife architect Scott Sartiano popped in as folks buzzed about the week's previous Nylon Guys event, where "Breaking Dawn" stud Kellan Lutz celebrated his own cover at the Beverly lounge next door.

Bradley Cooper named sexiest man alive; Ryan Gosling fans weep

Bradley Cooper is People magazine's sexiest man alive 2011

It's a good day to be Bradley Cooper: The actor has been named People magazine's sexiest man alive for 2011. It's also an OK day to be Ryan Gosling, because his legion of fans really, really think he should've gotten the title instead of Cooper.

"I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this," Cooper said of the honor. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."

Bradley Cooper is the 2011 Sexiest Man AliveA guy who doesn't look like a model. Well, if you insist. But the Ministry is all about Cooper, who has hit his leading-man stride nicely with the success of "The Hangover 2" and a slew of top-lining projects in the mill -- not to mention his easy smile and next-door charm.

PHOTOS: Bradley Cooper eye candy -- you're welcome

And though Gosling does make it in this "sexiest" issue, some of his fans are more in the Bradley-is-horrifying camp -- and they aren't being shy online about their adoration and opinion that the "Ides of March" star should be gracing the cover.

Team Bradley is emblazoned on our T-shirt, but we can't ignore some of the more hilarious pro-Gosling efforts, such as 63 reasons Bradley Cooper isn't the sexiest man alive.

Other able-bodied men in the issue include Idris Elba, Liam Hemsworth, Justin Theroux and Chris Evans.

Rihanna named sexiest woman alive; still a Chris Brown fan

Rihanna is Esquire's sexiest woman alive for 2011

Rihanna, the 23-year-old Barbadian singer discovered by Jay-Z, has been named this year's sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine.

Celebrating her glistening bod, fearless sense of style (which often consists of very little clothing) and boss-like attitude, the mag says she's transcended even Madonna in her pursuit of "carnal pop."

"At the end of a concert, I don't feel like I've been this sexy thing. Really, I don't even think about it," she says.

Rihanna is this year's Sexiest Woman Alive Clearly, someone does. In the nearly three years since her Grammys weekend assault by then-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna has rewritten her narrative: from a victim out of an R&B standard to a multi-genre sexpot who (speaking of Madonna) has made unpredictability her one constant.

And nothing is more unpredictable then coming out in at least pseudo-support of Brown -- she says she's let go of past resentment.

"It's incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?" she told the mag.

Yeah, we know

"I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff. I've always been a fan. Obviously, I had some resentment toward him for a while, for obvious reasons. But I've put that behind me," she said.

Check out a video of Rihanna's Esquire cover shoot below, and give us your thoughts on her sexy, resentment-free self in comments.

Thomas Jane of 'Hung' on experimenting with men (and sandwiches)

Thomas Jane of "Hung"

Given a choice with Thomas Jane, we'd play touch football. But it seems the "Hung" star knows one of our other favorite games: actors discussing fluid sexuality!

Jane, who plays a boudoir hired gun on the HBO comedy, recently sat down with the Los Angeles Times to discuss the road ahead for his character -- and the road he's personally traveled, sprinkled with some same-sex action.

"You know, when I was a kid out here in L.A., I was homeless, I didn't have any money and I was living in my car. I was 18. I wasn't averse to going down to Santa Monica Boulevard and letting a guy buy me a sandwich. Know what I mean?" he said.

We can guess! We'd also imagine Jane is being so candid about his past because of certain missteps in the past, specifically when it comes to the gay community.

Jane got some heat in the gay community for pooh-poohing the suggestion that his male prostitute character would make his services available to men. "I've always said, the year that Ray ends up with a penis in his mouth is the last year of the show."

But nevermind that: "I got a chance to explain myself a little further," he says, "and I think people respected the explanation that I gave." Back to those Santa Monica Boulevard gents and Subway shops.

"For me, being a young artist and broke in Los Angeles, I was exploring my sexual identity. And probably because of my middle-class, white, blue-collar upbringing, I would have never had the opportunity to confront some of my own fears and prejudices had I not been hungry enough to be forced to challenge myself in that way," he said.

Though he says he chooses now to be heterosexual because that's what his DNA and his nurture tell him (read the full interview for the nuance on that choice thing), he adds: "Until you've tasted the food, you don't know whether you'll like it or not, as my mom always said."

So, now we're back to the sandwiches? Jane, you're such a whiz at this, you're in James Franco territory

Holly Madison insures her two best friends for $1 million

Holly Madison has insured her breasts for $1 million

Holly Madison, one of "The Girls Next Door" who now appears in a topless revue in Las Vegas, is putting her money where her moneymakers are: She has insured her breasts for $1 million with Lloyd's of London.

The "Peepshow" veteran, who also has film and TV credits for portraying characters including "Playboy Bunny," "Hot Blonde," "Self" and "Blonde #1," told People she'd heard about performers insuring body parts and figured, "Why not?"

"Because if anything happened to my boobs" -- her word, not ours -- "I'd be out for a few months and I'd probably be out a million dollars," she told the mag. "I thought I'd cover my assets."

Hey, that's one way to put yourself in the same league as Betty Grable and Angie Dickinson. Though those ladies insured their legs, which probably makes it not the same league in the slightest, beyond the fact that everyone involved possesses two legs, with Madison owning two insured assets of her own.

Alas, Madison's assets were made, not born: She surgically boosted her cup size in 2001 from an A to a D-plus, which is about the grade the Los Angeles Times' reviewer gave "Peepshow" back in April 2009. Madison joined the cast in May of that year.

Reed Johnson described "Peepshow" as "an intermittently amusing but utterly predictable and cliche-besotted soft-core revue" with "a tribute to pink that involves a male stooge, some light bondage, a bucket of paint and a crunching rock ditty" ranking among the show's more inspired numbers, musically.

Madison apparently took to Vegas from the get-go, however, reportedly becoming a fixture at charity events and on red carpets in short order. That's not to say she doesn't have room in her heart for a dive bar or two.

Meanwhile, the Ministry is insanely unhappy that our recent bout with accidental nudity happened on a  Jennifer Aniston post, and not this one.

Are Christina Hendricks' curves Matthew Weiner's responsibility?

Hendricks-figure-weiner

Christina Hendricks is no stranger to chatter about her famous figure, and Sunday's Primetime Emmy Awards show was no exception.

Hendricks reportedly sidestepped questions about her bod at the press conference after the "Mad Men" cast accepted the trophy for outstanding drama series, ultimately getting bailed out by show creator Matthew Weiner, who nudged reporters to ask him about his figure instead.

Not a surprising move, as Weiner told us he feels partially to blame for the major interest in her curves.

"I'm kind of responsible -- her physique was something that hadn't been on TV in a long time," he said of casting Hendricks as bombshell office gal Joan Holloway.

"She's a sex symbol, and we're at a point in time where it's OK for people to say anything to anybody when you're a public figure," he told the Ministry.

As Weiner sees it, iconic characters like Joan slip into the ether and emerge as common property.

"Marilyn Monroe, Angelina Jolie, their physique is something that becomes a part of the culture.... I can't make any jokes about it; I understand that it's hard for her. But," he asked, "does anyone talk to Jon Hamm and say, 'Lift your shirt up and show us your abs?'"

Hendricks and Weiner will continue to ponder the gender divide on the AMC hit, the cast of which we announced  Wednesday will be hosting this year's Rape Treatement Center fund-raiser at the Beverly Hills home of Ron Burkle.

Joe Manganiello to join ridiculously hot cast of 'Magic Mike'

Magic-mike-cast

Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum. The Jeopardy answer: What is the Ministry's idea of Christmas morning?

That list of easy-on-the-eyes actors is the nearly confirmed cast of "Magic Mike," a romp through the lives of male strippers based on Tatum's real-life experiences as a young exotic dancer.

Manganiello, a favorite werewolf on "True Blood," comes as the latest and apparently largest addition, according to EW. He's reportedly been cast as Big Dick Richie, a dancer of enormous talent, alongside Pettyfer's booty-shaking newbie, Tatum's seasoned pro, supporting dancer Bomer and club owner McConaughey.

Stephen Soderbergh is directing the flick, set to open in September 2012. And one of the largest questions looming about the project -- after why can't it just open today -- is, how much of the man-goodies will be on display?

Turns out, full-frontal might not be off the table. Soderbergh "isn't afraid of going there," a well-placed source tells the Awful Truth.

And to steal the Truth's sentiment wholeheartedly: If ever there were a time for 3D filmmaking, let it be now.

Mark Sanchez: Quarterback crush on Jennifer Aniston

Mark Sanchez is crushing on Jennifer Aniston

When Jennifer Aniston finally drops her suitcases in New York City for good, she's got a heck of a welcome wagon waiting: Mark Sanchez, the quarterback of the New York Jets.

Sanchez, the 24-year-old leader of "Gang Green," confessed that his biggest celebrity crush is on Rachel Green herself.

"She's experienced," the USC alum gushed to GQ of the "Wanderlust" actress, who is currently taken by actor and screenwriter Justin Theroux.

Nice to know that Aniston is popular with the youngsters, as she was recently tapped for the Decade of Hotness award and all, but don't be fooled bt Sanchez's age -- he's earned a few stud stripes already.

"You have to be a 24-year-old bachelor," he told the mag, "with the means to do anything, just about, but with the wherewithal and understanding and life skills of a 45-year-old Supreme Court judge."

Insight and confidence like that puts the Ministry on his team.
