Kim Kardashian — the singer — talks about her new single, 'Turn It Up'

Kim Kardashian at the 53rd Annual GrammysKim Kardashian is about three weeks away from dropping her first single, "Turn It Up," a dance track that viewers can see a sneak peek of on a coming episode of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York."

So add "singer" to the reality TV star's ever-increasing list of occupations. The Ministry has tallied designer, perfumer, spokesperson and actress (sort of). Oh, and we haven't forgotten amateur porn star. That is how she became a household name, after all.

The middle Kardashian sister collaborated with producer The-Dream, Kanye West and Ciara for the track. But don't get your hopes up.

"You know it was something that I was really uncomfortable and nervous about, and [The-Dream] really just wanted me to step outside of my box and try something I've never done before. So I was really honest. I'm like, 'You're not gonna get Beyoncé here, you're not gonna get Celine Dion,' and he really pulled something out of me," she told MTV's Snooki on the Grammy red carpet.

She's releasing the single with no plans to launch an album or career in music. The proceeds will be going to a cancer organization of her choosing to commemorate her father, who died of esophageal cancer in 2003.

A noble cause — which almost makes us want to take back the aforementioned porn star comment. Almost. Sorry, Kimmie.

Cee Lo Green versus Elton John: Who's the puppet master? [Poll]

For music fans of a certain age, the Cee Lo Green performance at the Grammy Awards brought a sense of deja vu: By design, the number evoked Elton John doing "Crocodile Rock" on "The Muppet Show" back in 1977.

Cee Lo Green at the GrammysGreen's catchy tune, referred to by Team Grammys as "The Song Otherwise Known as 'Forget You,'" was nominated in the record and song of the year categories, both won by Lady Antebellum and "Need You Now." (Dennis Prager can now sleep better at night.)

"The Song ... " did win for urban/alternative performance, but lost to "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga in the short-form music video category.

But shock of shocks, who knew that Cee Lo's feathers and F-word -- with Gwyneth Paltrow writhing on his piano -- would be a more subtle flashback than the, um, "influence" that Madonna's "Express Yourself" apparently had on Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" egg-stravaganza?

If you missed the Grammy Awards or the year 1977, see Elton's performance above and Cee Lo's down below -- then vote.

Justin Bieber, Usher -- so bromantic at the Grammys

Justin Bieber and Usher were oozing with love for each other at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, and it continued backstage, our friends at Awards Tracker tell us.

Before taking the stage together, the audience and viewers at home got to see a tidbit of Bieber's audition video for Usher, above, when the newly minted teen idol belted out "U Got It Bad."

Justin Bieber performs with Usher at Grammys The pair shared a moment about the audition onstage, then went on to perform a tame version of Usher's "OMG" after an acoustic version of Bieber's "Baby" and "Never Say Never" with Jaden Smith, complete with acrobats and airborne ninjas. But now we wonder, will Usher be taking Will Smith's baby boy under his tutelage too?

But if viewers didn't get enough of the bromance onstage, backstage Usher fielded more inquiries about his protégé than queries about his own wins for male R&B vocal performance and contemporary R&B album. (The Biebs went home empty-handed despite a bevy of nominations.)

"Obviously, I would have preferred Justin to have won, but I've been here before and haven't won," Usher said.

Then the Biebs swooped to the podium and leaped onto Usher's back to finish the interview. Want to know what Bieber had to say about Usher? Read it at Awards Tracker.

Grammy Awards parties: Katy Perry kicks back, Lady Gaga 'wears a bra, basically'

Nicole-kidman-grammy After a show like the Grammys, the musical crowd isn't about to wind down with tea and honey: Winners, nominees and guests at Sunday's big show -- including Lady Gaga, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, and Katy Perry -- hit parties in the heart of Hollywood all the way to Beverly Hills.

Publishing house EMI and Ultimate Ears by Logitech hosted a huge to-do at Milk Studios, where Kidman and Urban arrived early from the downtown L.A. ceremony. Seated at a private table in the Patron VIP, the new parents chatted up executive types, sipping water and even greeting star-struck partygoers.

While several food trucks and bars kept guests satiated in the presence of the star couple, Perry walked through sans husband Russell Brand.

Donning her Armani gown from the carpet, minus the long train, Perry held court at a table with friends including stylist Johnny Wujeck.

Major trophy snatchers Lady Antebellum were well received by all, as were Natasha Bedingfield, Dave Navarro and Nikki Sixx

Over at the L'Ermitage, where Interscope Records took over the small but pricey rooftop, Gaga made an appearance (one partygoer telling the Ministry that she wore "a bra, basically") with her boyfriend Luc Carl.

Beyonce and Jay-Z ended their night at SoHo House, where the rapper had hosted a fabulous brunch with Gucci the day before, for a Grey Goose hosted VIP reception.

Grammy Awards: Justin Bieber shakes hands with the Situation; civilization crumbles

Grammys-pictures Justin Bieber has the world in his underage hands.

The pop prince has a box office hit -- even if he's second to that old guy Adam Sandler. He has Selena Gomez as his girl (or, at least, that's the rumor). And he's so cool he can rock an all white suit!

As if that wasn't enough, the youngster even has "Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino screaming his name!

Watch it all go down.

Grammy Awards: Dominic Monaghan on Eminem, 'Lost,' 'The Hobbit' [Video]

Dominic  Monaghan, known to most as Charlie on "Lost" or Merry in the "Lord of the Rings" franchise, shuffled down the Grammy Awards red carpet with gusto on Sunday night in downtown L.A.

Not sure why he was there? The actor is featured in the music video for Eminem's hit song "Love the Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna.

"It was like two days of getting thrown around and being violent," he says.

The British actor will be noticeably absent in Peter Jackson's return to Middle-earth when the director takes on "The Hobbit," but he's dealing with it in stride: "I'm bummed in a nice way." He added that he didn't rule out working with the director in the future.

However, fans of his TV work -- he also appeared on ABC's short-lived "FlashForward" -- might have to wait a bit longer to see him return to the small screen.

"It'd have to be something as good as 'Lost,'" Monaghan said, "if not better."

Grammy Awards: Paramore members share the love [Video]

Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York walked the red carpet Sunday into the Grammy Awards, where they were up for a couple of awards.

The band earned a nod in the pop performance by a duo or group with vocals category for "The Only Exception," and singer Williams was also up for best pop collaboration with vocals for "Airplanes, Part II," her team-up with rapper B.o.B.

Williams, wearing a dress designed especially for her by Jeremy Scott, said the year was all about Nicki Minaj for her: "She pretty much ruled 2010 in my book."

Minaj, dressed in leopard literally from her head to her toes, ignored most reporters on the red carpet as she made her way inside, so we wonder, did Williams ever get a chance to profess her devotion?

Grammy Awards: Aretha Franklin promises to be at next year's Grammys

Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin made a surprise, taped appearance Sunday at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, popping on screen after Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride and more kicked off with a tribute to the Queen of Soul.

Grammy-pictures2 In her message, Franklin promised to be at the Grammys in 2012. She'd made her first public appearance in months on Friday, heading out to see a Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game with Rev. Jesse Jackson.

The diva in January debunked some rumors about her recent illness, which forced her to cancel six months' worth of performances. Franklin underwent surgery in December.

Without giving specifics about what had ailed her, Franklin told "Access Hollywood," "I don't know where 'pancreatic cancer' came from. I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that. No one in my family ever said that to anybody."

"If you're a fan of Aguilera's hollering, this was golden," Todd Martens said of the tribute in his Pop & Hiss  mini-review, noting that the blond singer -- possibly seeking a shot at redemption after her Super Bowl fumble -- in one instance stretched the word "I" into nearly four syllables.

Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams rounded out the medley of Franklin tunes, which featured Hudson rocking a little "Respect."

Grammy Awards: Does Mya have Bieber fever? [Video]

Mya could never be into Justin Bieber, right? Hey, never say never!

The R&B songstress admits she's hasn't yet caught a viewing of the 3-D flick showcasing the Biebs, but she did have a small confession: "I don't have the fever, but I am a fan," she said before heading into the Grammy Awards.

Also in the video, see which of Sunday's performances she was excited about, which songs caught her attention this past year and what we can expect from her on the music side.

Grammy Awards: Ciara gives herself props

Confidence is everything -- and Ciara certainly isn't lacking in the self-esteem department. Not when she's wearing a dress with that much leg showing. Yikes!

When asked what her favorite song of the year was, well, she apparently thinks she has all the musical "Goodies." She credited her own song "Ride," featuring Ludacris, on her "Basic Instinct" album as being her favorite.

There's no room for humility on the red carpet.
