Kim Kardashian dusts off red carpet powder bomb incident

Kim Kardashian gets flour bombed
Kim Kardashian has a signature cupcake at a chic Beverly Hills sweets shop, but the reality star got a lot closer to baking on Thursday night than she would have liked.

A random woman attended the launch of Karashian's new fragrance at a West Hollywood hotel and flour-bombed the famous divorcee.

"That probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that's happened to me," Kardashian told E! Online of the incident.

Motive is unclear on behalf of the mystery woman, who was swiftly escorted from the premises of The London Hotel after spraying Kim with the white powder, but red carpet reporters allegedly heard some complaints about fur.

Lucky for the bold powder tosser that Kim's sister Khloe wasn't around, or she would've thrown down, according to her Twitter account.

"I wish I was with my sister tonight. I bet you that woman wouldn't have dared tried a thing...," she wrote.

Kardashian hopped right back on the carpet after a quick dust-off, chatting up her True Reflection scent, and has no plans to press charges.

Jennifer Lopez's manager wishes for less 'obsessive' suitors

Jennifer Lopez

Plenty of people are enamored with Jennifer Lopez, but the diva's talent manager wishes the "nearly obsessive" types wouldn't try to court the "American Idol" judge.

While Lopez has been enjoying life after her split from husband Marc Anthony, taking up with spirited dancer Casper Smart, her rep Benny Medina says that menfolk tend to be super into Jennifer.

"The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone," Medina told Vogue, for which Lopez serves as cover girl, "instead of having nearly obsessive guys pursue her."

Such a J. Lo problem. But if the actress and singer shares the sentiment (or doesn't), she's not saying either way.

"He’s a good egg," she said of Smart. "I don’t want to talk about it too much. It’s my private thing."

What isn't private is video below of her stunning Vogue shoot, the annual shape issue in which Lopez flaunts her curves and a radiant glow. New love or great bronzer? Watch and decide.

Charlize Theron steps out — a new mom! — to honor stylist

Charlize Theron steps out after announcing adoption

That was quick: Fresh off the announcement of her adoption, actress Charlize Theron stepped out on Wednesday to honor her stylist. And though she didn't deliver her little guy Jackson, she was certainly sporting a maternal glow.

Celebrating her stylist Leslie Fremar, Theron joined other well-heeled actresses at the members-only Soho House in West Hollywood, where the Hollywood Reporter toasted the people responsible for red carpet looks.

Theron was joined by Katie Holmes, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve and "Bridesmaids" gal Ellie Kemper for a luncheon toasting stylemakers including Fremar, Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi (Jennifer Lopez), Elizabeth Stewart and Jen Rade (Angelina Jolie and her leg).

Details are few on Charlize's happy news, but her rep said the star is "very proud" to welcome the addition home.

Ashley Olsen calls it quits as an actress

Ashley Olsen is leaving acting for good

Ashley Olsen is bidding adieu to Hollywood -- at least when it comes to getting work as an actress.

This simply makes it official: Though acting made the Olsen twins famous, Mary Kate Olsen's twin sister hasn't starred in a film since 2004, spending her time developing fashion lines the Row and Elizabeth and James instead. And she's not looking back.

"It was time to step behind the process. I wanted to work on other things. It doesn't mean I'm not interested in Hollywood, I like the way it operates and the people who are involved and the sense of possibility," Ashley Olsen told British Elle.

"But if I ever do get back in, it's not going to be as an actress."

The family thespian duties now fall in the capable hands of Mary Kate and Ashley's younger sister, Elizabeth -- well received for her breakout performance in last year's "Martha Marcy May Marlene."

Ashley and Mary Kate have been sleeper hits in the fashion community, landing positive reviews for their chic womenswear and accessories.

Diane von Furstenberg: Leave Angelina Jolie and her leg alone

Angdiane2
If Angelina Jolie wants anyone in her corner after that business about her leg at last Sunday's Academy Awards, it's Diane von Furstenberg.

The Ministry caught up with the legendary designer in Los Angeles on Saturday, where she said she doesn't quite understand why Angie and her limbs are under attack.

"She's always so gorgeous," Von Furstenberg said at the launch of GapKids + DVF, her chic children's line for the retailer. "I don't know why, but I think people are just not nice to her."

And as a woman who has just created a collection for children, she's not having any of this Angelina teasing.

At shopping mecca The Grove, Von Furstenberg turned up to greet celeb fans like a pregnant Molly Sims, Busy Philipps, Alyson Hannigan, Tiffani Thiessen and "Entourage" star Constance Zimmer.

Not your normal petting zoo fare, the DVF bunch kept it glamorous with a mini-runway for kids to strut down and a makeup station, and passed snacks like vegetable cut-outs and mac 'n' cheese.

Motherhood being another job Angelina is highly associated with, we asked Von Furstenberg the value of raising children with their own unique stlye, like Jolie and Brad Pitt's Shiloh.

"The only thing that matters is that your kids are happy with who they are," Von Furstenberg said.

Kate Middleton surprises wedding dressmakers with thank-you visit

Kate Middleton with Pippa Middleton

That Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge, is pretty crafty when it comes to her gratitude. Especially for the crafty folks who contributed to her iconic wedding dress.

The Duchess paid a secret (and surprise) visit Tuesday to the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, the group of hands that added the meticulous embroidery to the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress in which she said "I do" to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge last April.

"Catherine was keen to express her gratitude in person to the women who worked so hard on her dress. She was very conscious of the pressure that they were under," a friend of Kate's told Britain's Telegraph.

About 30 of the institution's staffers -- whose handiwork incorporated United Kingdom symbols such as the rose, shamrock, thistle and daffodil into the more than 9-foot train -- reportedly gathered to greet Kate.

The Ministry wonders if the chic staff of the Alexander McQueen salon can expect the same courtesy? We'll keep you posted.

Kate Middleton, 'Hat Person of the Year'? Time for a recount!

Kate Middleton, 'Hat Person of the Year'? Time for a recount!

Kate Middleton has been chosen Hat Person of the Year

Recount! I demand a recount! Kate Middleton gets more than 90% of the vote as the "Hat Person of the Year"?

Not Princess Beatrice, for her Philip Treacy antler hat from Kate and William's wedding, a fetching item if only because it fetched $130,000 for charity on EBay?

Not Tilda Swinton, on the cover of W in a Patricia Underwood for Chris Benz white hat that John Wayne would empty his six-shooter to get?

Not ... me?

The 104-year-old Headwear Assn., which bills itself as the oldest fashion trade association around -- and who is still around from then to dispute that? -- crowned the Duchess of Cambridge as "Hat Person of the Year."

She has certainly shown a fine flair for the whimsical chapeau. There's her scarlet maple-leaf hat for her Canadian trip last year, an homage to her hosts. On the solemn side of things, her stylized black fedora for Remembrance Day suited the moment and the wearer. Her fascination with fascinators –- those little tip-tilted numbers that don't conceal her face or her shampoo-ad hair –- have blown the lid, so to speak, off sales figures for similar numbers.

PHOTOS: Festive royal wedding hats

Much the same happened when her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales, stepped out in her own millinery, which sometimes ran to the larger and more dramatic -- and had the same effect on hat sales.

In Britain, but not here.

Vanity Fair Hollywood issue gets fresh with Mara, Chastain

Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska and more cover the VF Hollywood Issue

Some lovely faces are trumpeting the approaching Oscars ceremony, thanks to Monday's unveiling of the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue, which stars fresh faces Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and more.

Soft pastels and finger waves help the crop of young actresses bring an Old Hollywood cover tableau to life, with its extended pages featuring Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling.

Among the makeup chair revelations imparted in video from the shoot was Mara's confession that she hadn't seen "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

"I haven't seen it yet," she said. "I didn't watch dailies. Sometimes I'd watch playback if it would help."

Also, with fellow Oscar nominee and prolific newbie Chastain, she'd discussed the one movie they'd never switch the channel for: "Me and Jessica were just talking about 'Zoolander.' It's probably a guilty pleasure."

Check out glam, girly video from the shoot below and tell us your thoughts on the Hollywood issue in comments.

SAG Awards: Chris Colfer on his fashion showdown with Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep and Chris Colfer, both in Vivienne Westwood

Awards fashion can be just as competitive as any nominee categories when it comes to shows like Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony. Just ask Chris Colfer and Meryl Streep.

We were tickled to learn both stars were sporting looks from British designer Vivienne Westwood, Colfer in a black tux from the Spring 2012 collection and Streep in a belted couture creation.

While the two certainly weren't in the same style garment and wouldn't likely compete for fashion press, we asked the young "Glee" guy anyway: Who wore Westwood best?

"She did! She did!" Colfer told us emphatically at the the People/Entertainment Industry Foundation SAG Awards after-party, shocked to learn they'd been outfitted by the same house. "But I hope they put us in a magazine together."

Streep lost the female actor trophy to Viola Davis of "The Help," and the folks of "Modern Family" kept the "Glee" cast in their seats on Sunday. But looking good is the best revenge, yes?

Streep will continue on the road to the Oscars with her Margaret Thatcher biopic, "The Iron Lady." Colfer remains a regular on Ryan Murphy's high school musical, and is hoping to release his feature "Struck by Lightning" in the fall.
