Fantasia Barrino has a baby son, Dallas Xavier

Fantasia Barrino

Fantasia Barrino reportedly welcomed baby Dallas Xavier, her second child and first son, Tuesday at a North Carolina hospital.

Dallas logged in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 inches, the singer's rep confirmed to People. Radar Online had reported Monday that she'd gone into labor.

Fantasia, who was due Dec. 29, told TV host Wendy Williams in October that she was home on bed rest.

"I feel so blessed that my son, Dallas Xavier, was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family," the 27-year-old told People through a rep.

Though Fantasia has been mum about the identity of Dallas' dad, she has been linked on and off to Antwaun Cook, who has been separated from his wife, Paula, since September 2009. The singer and the former T-Mobile employee reportedly met in August of that year.

The winner of the third season of "American Idol" attempted suicide in August 2010 after Paula Cook named her in an alienation-of-affection lawsuit (read that as, "I'm calling you a home wrecker"). The suicide attempt was caught on camera for her reality TV show, "Fantasia for Real," as was a conversation that same month during which she told Antwaun she wasn't sure she was going to see him again.

In November 2010 Fantasia testified in family court about her relationship with Cook; this August she announced she was pregnant, delivering the news to a concert audience while she was onstage.

The singer's daughter, Zion, is 10. If Cook is Dallas' father, the boy would be his third child, and his first with Fantasia.

Amber Portwood hospitalized; 'Teen Mom' had threatened suicide

Amber Portwood of "Teen Mom" hospitalized after suicide threat

Amber Portwood of "Teen Mom" fame has been hospitalized for observation after threatening suicide Tuesday, according to police in her Indiana hometown.

Police went to a home in Anderson, Ind., after a caller said the 21-year-old was depressed and threatening to end her own life, Anderson Police Det. Mitch Carroll said Wednesday in a statement. She did not appear to be injured, he said; Portwood's attorney had no immediate comment.

Portwood was given probation last week after pleading guilty to two felony domestic battery charges stemming from a September "Teen Mom" episode that showed her slapping, choking and kicking baby daddy and ex-fiance Gary Shirley, now 25, in the presence her daughter.

Portwood was arrested on three felony counts in late December, spending 24 hours in jail before making bail. She'd made almost bigger news in early December, however, for getting a massive, criminally unattractive abdominal tattoo of her daughter's likeness.

In exchange for the guilty pleas, prosecutors dropped a felony child neglect charge, and Portwood was ordered to undergo 30 days of inpatient therapy, earn her high school diploma and put $10,000 in a college fund for her daughter Leah, now 2.

Shirley made the 911 call, obtained by TMZ, in which he said she'd told him she was going to hang herself, and that he should call police and tell them they'd find her body in the garage.

"Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon," MTV said in a statement. Portwood first appeared on the network's "16 and Pregnant," from which "Teen Mom" spun off.

"American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino attempted suicide last August after having a series of legal problems stemming from to her relationship with Antwuan Cook. At the time, the singer and single mom was in production on her VH1 reality show, "Fantasia for Real."

Fantasia's boyfriend Antwaun Cook was legally separated earlier than wife claimed, judge reportedly rules

Fantasia Barrino Fantasia Barrino may have scored a legal break in the form of a judge's ruling in favor of onetime boyfriend Antwaun Cook regarding when he legally separated from his wife, TheYBF reported Wednesday.

Antwaun was separated from wife Paula Cook as of Sept. 14, 2009, a North Carolina judge has determined. In filing for divorce, Paula had claimed she and Antwaun were together until June 2010, and had therefore targeted the "American Idol" winner as a homewrecker. Adultery is still a crime in North Carolina.

TheYBF, which first broke news of Fantasia's relationship with a "technically married man," cited Radar Online, which previously reported the singer had admitted on the stand that she'd been pregnant by Cook, but had terminated the pregnancy.

TheYBF exclusively reported Fantasia's relationship with Cook in November 2009, around the time she showed up in pictures with his name tattooed on her chest. According to the blog, the two met the second week of August 2009, while he was still living with his wife and two kids.

Fantasia attempted suicide on Aug. 9, 2010. That event and interaction with Antwaun were captured for her VH1 reality show, "Fantasia for Real."

Report: Fantasia testifies she knew Antwaun Cook was married

Fantasia Barrino This is an updated version of an earlier post. For details see the note at the bottom.

Fantasia Barrino testified Monday in onetime boyfriend Antwaun Cook's divorce case in Charlotte, N.C., saying she knew from the start that he was married and living with his wife, CNN reports.

The singer had previously admitted the relationship but said then that she didn't know Cook was married. Wife Paula Cook in early August filed for divorce, seeking custody and alimony and citing  "alienation of affection" -- essentially, home-wrecking. Adultery is still a crime in North Carolina.

Two sources in the courtroom spoke to CNN but asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the information.

Though no reporters were allowed at the hearing, Radar Online cited sources, including a Cook family member, as saying Fantasia testified she'd been pregnant and gotten an abortion shortly before her Aug. 9 suicide attempt.

That suicide attempt, incidentally, was chronicled for her VH1 reality show, "Fantasia for Real." In the most recent episode of the show (see a clip below) she and Antwaun discuss whether he was with his wife or not -- and he tells her he's always been separated. She says later that she doesn't know if she'll see him again.

Barrino and Paula Cook met for mediation Nov. 1, Radar reported, with the singer reportedly willing to hand over $100,000, but Paula unwilling to settle without Fantasia admitting she'd known Antwaun Cook was married.

Barrino performed in Charlotte last week, making little mention of her recent troubles except for "a quick and playful midshow film that dismissed her detractors" and some tearful words about self-acceptance and personal growth, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Fantasia's tour swings by Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Wednesday.

For the record, Dec. 22: Antwaun Cook's first name was misspelled in an earlier version of this post.
