Jenna Talackova can compete in Miss Universe Canada, but will she?

Jenna Talackova

Jenna Talackova can compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant, as long as she's legally female, but the transgender beauty queen wants it spelled out plainly, plus a little bit more to make sure the situation doesn't happen to someone else.

The organization, owned by Donald Trump, on Monday said Talackova was back in "provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions."

Talackova had been disqualified because of a rule stating contestants must be "naturally born" females; the Vancouver, Canada, contestant was born male, self-identified as female at age 4, underwent hormone therapy starting at 14 and received gender-reassignment surgery at 19.

"I am a woman," she said Tuesday. "I was devastated and I felt that excluding me for the reason that they gave was unjust."

With attorney Gloria Allred at her side, Talackova said she'd seen the pageant's statement and found it "quite confusing."

"I wish Mr. Trump would just say, in plain words, whether or not I will be allowed to compete and, if I win, whether I will be allowed to represent Canada in the Miss Universe competition," Talackova said. "I also want Mr. Trump to clearly state that this rule will be eliminated because I do not want any other woman to suffer the discrimination that I have to endure."

Talackova presented her Canadian passport showing her gender as female. Allred noted that legal teams had been formed in L.A., New York and Canada aimed at ridding the contest of the rule.

In addition to her client's statement, Allred noted that her client never asked to see the Donald's genitals, or asked him to prove he was a naturally born male. Trump, of course, had a reply regarding his penis.

"I think Gloria would be very, very, very impressed with me," he told TMZ on Tuesday, moving on to note that based on the laws of Canada and the United States regarding gender, Talackova may compete if she wants to. "We go by the law."

However, he said, "There'll be no apology whatsoever" on Allred's behalf, "and frankly, if [Talackova] competes that's wonderful, and if she doesn't want to compete because maybe she thinks she can't win, that's wonderful. I couldn't care less."

"The Miss Universe Organization made the right decision and has taken an important first step," said Herndon Graddick, president of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. "Now, GLAAD urges the Organization to include all women and use this incident to speak out in support of the transgender community." GLAAD said Tuesday that it was working with the Miss Universe organization to review current policies.

As of Wednesday morning, Talackova's picture had not yet been returned to the ranks of the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant contestants.

Jenna Talackova out of Miss Universe Canada for being transgender

As far as Miss Universe Canada is concerned, it seems the "Miss" part of the competition has to start at birth — particularly for ousted contestant Jenna Talackova, who was born male and who said she self-identified as female at age 4 and underwent gender reassignment surgery at 19.

"Jenna Talackova from Vancouver, British Columbia, will not compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada competition because she did not meet the requirements to compete despite having stated otherwise on her entry form," the pageant organization said Friday in a statement. "We do, however, respect her goals, determination and wish her the best."

Miss Universe Canada, which is owned by Donald Trump and feeds its winner into the Miss Universe pageant, selected Talackova to be one of its 65 finalists for the 2012 competition, which will see its crown awarded May 19 in Toronto. Eligibility requirements for various feeders into the Miss Universe system indicate that a contestant must be female and never have been married or pregnant. The rules for Miss California, which feeds into Miss USA and then into Miss Universe, include the broad requirement that contestants "must be of good health and moral character."

Talackova, 23, declined to be interviewed last week by a Canadian news outlet, saying she first had to consult with her lawyer. However, on her now-private Twitter account, she reportedly wrote, "I'm disqualified, however I'm not giving up. I'm not going to just let them disqualify me over discrimination."

Asked in 2010 whether she regarded herself as a transgender or as a woman,  a winking Talackova replied, "I regard myself as a woman -- with a history."

Fast-forward to around the eight-minute mark in the video below to see Talackova interviewed at the 2010 Miss International Queen transsexual/transgender pageant held in Thailand — and be warned, there are some surgical specifics.

Donald Trump dances on Rosie O'Donnell show's grave [Poll]

Donald Trump is delighted Rosie O'Donnell has failed

Rosie O'Donnell's show on OWN has been canceled, and Donald Trump is predictably tiptoeing on its grave.

Wait, did we say tiptoeing? More like tap dancing. Nay, clogging. Heck, if there were more Donald Trumps in the world, Trump would be doing a full-on Rockettes kick line with himselves to mark the occasion of "The Rosie Show's" demise.

“Frankly, that was just going to happen,” Trump said Monday morning via phone on "Fox & Friends, after blasting O'Donnell first on Twitter. “I knew it immediately when they announced it. Rosie fails at everything. She had a variety show, it failed. I mean, she — I don’t understand now, somebody else, some moron will come and hire her again to do something else and that will fail.

"At some point, let her rest. Let her go away. She’ll never make it and I’ve said it for years. She’ll never make it! She must have a very good agent."

And he didn't let the Twitter opportunity get away either, tweeting a link to mention of his "F&F" interview and wondering in an extended tweet, "Rosie O'Donnell has failed again. Her ratings were abysmal and Oprah cancelled her on Friday night. When will media executives learn that Rosie just hasn't got it."

The two have been at it back and forth for years, with Trump picking on the new show late last year. In 2006, O'Donnell lashed out and Trump for not firing then-Miss USA Tara Connor. He said he'd started it by bagging on her over her "failed magazine," which she shuttered in 2002, and told Anderson Cooper at the time that she was "not a smart person," "a stone cold loser," "a bully" and a "very unattractive woman both inside and out."

So tell us, Donald, how do you really feel? And tell us, readers, how do you really feel about Rosie?

Donald Trump won't wear jeans (ugly sweaters are another story)

Donald-trump1Donald Trump is back. Just a few months ago Trump was flirting with a presidential run and demanding that President Obama produce his birth certificate.

These days his sights have been set slightly lower. He's still planning to participate in a GOP presidential debate, but as the moderator, not a candidate. And he's revealing on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" that even a man as extreme as Donald Trump has lines he won't cross, such as the wearing of blue jeans.

"Fox & Friends" hosts Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade were talking to Trump and introduced Kelly Osbourne, who presented the Donald with his very own ugly Christmas sweater, a gift from Sharon Osbourne (a former "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant).

While Trump seemed thrilled with the sweater, he drew the line at wearing it with a pair of jeans and Doc Martens, as suggested by Kelly.

"I don't wear them too often," Trump said. "I'm sort of a country club guy. I like the other things."

But just to show he wasn't completely out of touch, he threw a bone to denim enthusiasts everywhere.

"Jeans are great. You know what's happening? People are wearing jeans now to golf clubs and country clubs. It's become part of the fashion. But so far, not for me."

Betty White voted America's 'most trusted' celebrity

Betty White voted 'most trusted' celebrity by Americans in a new Reuters poll, beating out Denzel Washington and Sandra Bullock

Betty White has been voted America's favorite and most trusted celebrity, a new poll indicates.

White, the former "Golden Girls" funnywoman who is currently starring in TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland," beat out Paris Hilton and Charlie Sheen as the person "whose endorsement of a company would be most likely to drive business," according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll of 2,012 Americans.

And she didn't have to go to the Marine Corps birthday ball to do it.

The 89-year-old animal lover won an Emmy last year for her "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig, has appeared on "Community" and in Snickers commercials and was named Associated Press entertainer of the year last December. Perhaps that trustworthy face of hers could help do some damage this fall on her "Punk'd"-style prank show "Betty White's Off Their Rockers"?

The other most favorable celebrities behind White are Denzel Washington, Sandra Bullock, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Morgan Freeman (who tied for seventh place with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge), Will Smith and Johnny Depp.

Topping the not-so-hot list are: Paris Hilton, Charlie Sheen, Britney Spears (who ties for third with Kanye West), Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods, Kim Kardashian, Mel Gibson, Donald Trump and LeBron James.

Ivanka Trump had the baby, but Donald Trump delivers the baby's name

Ivanka Trump names her baby Arabella Rose

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner became parents Sunday, and Donald Trump wasted no time getting back into proud-grandparent mode and delivering the new baby's name: Arabella Rose.

"I just left the hospital, and the baby is beautiful," he said by phone to "Fox & Friends."

And the name? "Arabella, a very exotic name, Arabella Rose is the baby's name," he said. "I just found that out myself, by the way."

He had to work fast, because Ivanka was right behind him on Twitter.

"Jared and I are having so much fun playing with our daughter! Arabella Rose is beyond adorable. She's truly a blessing," the new mom said.

Arabella is the Donald's third grandchild, joining Kai Madison and Donnie III, who are Donald Jr.'s girl and boy with wife Vanessa. Grandbaby No. 4, another son for Jr., according to People, is due in October.

Ivanka Trump expecting a baby girl, not expecting Grandpa Donald to do diapers

Ivanka Trump is expecting a girl Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are expecting a baby girl, but the mom-to-be isn't expecting her dad, Donald Trump, to show up on diaper duty.

"He'll be wonderful, but not as a classic, hands-on, 'Let me take the child for the weekend' type," Ivanka told Harper's Bazaar. "He won't be that kind of grandfather."

And what kind of mother will she be? "I do have a bit of first-time-mom syndrome," she told the mag, which features her styled up, baby bump and all, as a sort of Playboy bunny. "I'm already on what I should be doing when she is 3 and when I should introduce new languages." (Hint: French and Mandarin Chinese are under consideration.)

The baby is due July 14, in line with Ivanka and Jared's plan to "to wait one year and just enjoy being newlyweds." The two were married in October 2009.

Note to the parents-to-be: Make sure you have your hands on that birth certificate before introducing the family's littlest member to her grandpa.

Donald Trump not running for president, Rebecca Black not pregnant

Donald Trump not running for president; Rebecca Black not pregnant Donald Trump will not run for president of the United States, he announced Monday, only a day after 13-year-old "Friday" phenom Rebecca Black announced that she was not pregnant.

We'll pause now for a moment of silence so we can all read that previous paragraph again, shake our heads and wonder how the world is currently still spinning on its axis.

"I will not be running for president as much as I'd like to," Trump said Monday in a written statement, after teasing for months about whether he'd submit his résumé to the American people for consideration as chief exec of the free world.

The teasing by the host of "The Celebrity Apprentice" included traveling to early-primary state New Hampshire and loudly and successfully pressuring President Obama to release his long-form birth certificate.

"I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election," Trump said. "I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector."

Speaking of birth certificates, we won't be expecting a new one courtesy of Rebecca Black any time soon. The YouTube phenom is not pregnant, despite CNN's iReport website falling for a doctored picture of the 13-year-old "Friday" singer announcing that she was with child.

"I thought it was May 15th ... not April Fools Day," the teen wrote on her @MsRebeccaBlack account on Twitter. "I'm absolutely NOT pregnant."

And here we thought the full moon wasn't due until Tuesday. Go figure.

President Obama or Seth Meyers: Whose speech rocked the correspondents dinner? [Video]

Seth meyers barack obama The annual White House correspondents dinner took place in Washington on Saturday night, giving President Obama the opportunity to take off the gloves and release a year's worth of pent-up jabs at the pundits who reported and opined about his actions, ideas and decisions.

In other words: Bring it.

No big surprise that Obama reserved a special place for Donald Trump, the mogul-turned-birther-spokesman who last week took credit for getting POTUS to cough up his long-form birth certificate.

"No one is happier ... no one is prouder ... to put this birth-certificate matter to rest than the Donald," Obama said in his speech. "And that's because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like: Did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?"

But Obama wasn't the only one who took a swing at Trump. Seth Meyers, "Saturday Night Live's" head writer and the featured entertainer for the dinner, also threw some punches -- attacking Trump's trademark hair and accent as well as his political opinions.

Videos of both are below. Tell us: Did Obama or Meyers have a better speech? Or did both of them bomb?
