David Arquette enters rehab; Courteney Cox supportive

David Arquette and Courteney Cox David Arquette has entered a rehab facility for treatment of alcohol abuse and depression, it was widely reported Sunday.

The decision for treatment -- confirmed Monday by his rep, though with few details -- came on the heels of New Year's weekend, which saw Arquette  wrapping up a difficult 2010 that included a separation from wife Courteney Cox and modified visitation with their daughter, Coco.

"I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life," Cox told People in a statement. "I love and support him."

Arquette's paradigm shift in lifestyle and behavior began almost immediately after the October split from his wife. The actor took up a resident gig with Las Vegas variety act Beacher's Madhouse, which opens to the public at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in February.

He also began partying heartily, relocated from the Malibu abode he shared with Cox to their centrally located West Hollywood digs, and even opened up about the onset of depression.

"I've been drinking a lot," Arquette confessed on Howard Stern's radio show in a rather attention-grabbing interview after his split when he admitted he was already sleeping with other people. Reports unanimously indicated that Arquette is not seeking drug-related treatment.

David Arquette plans a TV game show, so don't call him a Hollywood square

David-arquette-game-show Now-single actor David Arquette is reportedly trying his hand at a game show, and no, the premise is nothing like "Family Feud" or the not-technically-a-game-show-but-still-could-have-cash-prizes "Divorce Court." According to Variety, Arquette and Merv Griffin Entertainment are pitching an American version of "Ranking the Stars," a program already running in places such as the Netherlands and India. Variety describes its premise:

" 'Ranking the Stars' takes a group of well-known panelists and asks them to rank one another on a given topic, from most likely to least likely.

[The] show requires celebrities to be self-deprecating as they're forced to admit whether they think they'd be more or less prone to do something embarrassing -- such as secretly informing the paparazzi on their whereabouts or making a sex tape -- than the celeb sitting next to them."

And no, you're not crazy to see comparisons between this show and those from the heyday of game shows. That's actually kind of fitting, given that Arquette's grandfather Cliff Arquette made frequent appearances on the first "The Hollywood Squares" as his popular Charley Weaver alter-ego.

David Arquette, Chris Brown heat up Us Hot Hollywood bash

David-arquette-us-party As often as they appear in the pages of Us Weekly, stars like Chris Brown and David Arquette were not spotlighted by the magazine Thursday night for hitting up Starbucks, or for a romantic drama, or for the occasional legal battle. Rather, the mag invited the men and a slew of other celebs out to celebrate giving back.

Held at Hollywood's Colony, the annual Us Hot Hollywood party had a "Stars Who Care" theme. Brown, who was recently given gold stars for a well-behaved year-plus on probation, came with male pals and kept it low key.

Just a few feet away, Arquette, an honoree for his work with Feeding America, had a considerably more exciting time -- the actor danced and drank enthusiastically, stripping off his yellow shirt and getting down in a tank top and suspenders.

On the open-air patio, Katie Cassidy chatted with girlfriends at a table beside Whitney Port; Kimora Lee Simmons enjoyed a smoke break with Nicky Hilton; and Channing Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan mingled.

Other honorees included singer Colbie Caillet, Olivia Wilde, Ke$ha, and Kelly and Sharon Osbourne.

Courteney Cox says she's not getting a divorce -- does David Arquette know?

Arquette-cox-2009 Courteney Cox says she and David Arquette have "grown apart" but aren't getting a divorce.

"I don't know what will happen, but this is not like we're getting divorced," she told TV Week. "This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage."

By way of explaining Arquette's recent comments to Howard Stern, she said her estranged husband is "a kook."

"I always thought of myself as the greatest wife because I'll do whatever I want to do and I don't mean open marriage, that's not what we had," she told the Aussie mag over the weekend while promoting "Cougar Town."

So, yeah, that's her take on things -- what do you think?

PREACH IT! David Arquette's sister freaks out at the wrong people

Patricia-and-david-arquette

So Patricia Arquette walked a red carpet the other night. It did not end well.

The event was in New York; the actress showed up with her brother David. That's the same David who for quite a while now has been talking and tweeting about his separation from wife Courteney Cox. Because of David, we know now the last time he and Cox had sex, why they separated, how often he's had sex since and how he says it's not cheating, and that he's wept bitter tears about the whole hot mess.

So when the Arquette siblings arrived on the red carpet Wednesday, the media, naturally, had more than a few follow-up questions.

Patricia deigned to field a few queries, but her patience did not last.

"How are you doing?" she finally snapped to the reporters. "How is your kid doing? Have you ever had anything happen in your life? What's the worst thing that you've ever had happen to you? Do you ever masturbate? Have you ever had an abortion? I mean, can you imagine these kind of questions? Can you imagine? Can you imagine? It's not all right! It's not all right!"

Yes, Patricia, we can imagine these kinds of questions, because your brother has made sure that we imagine these kinds of questions.

Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, David Arquette hit the Gentlemen's Ball

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher at the GQ Gentlemen's Ball in New York City. The central players in some of Hollywood's most whispered-about stories put scandal aside last night in New York City, as Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore and David Arquette attended GQ's Gentlemen's Ball.

The fund-raiser for the mag's Gentlemen's Fund, hosted at the Edison Ballroom, featured "real men striving for the betterment of society," such as environmentally conscious heir David de Rothschild and chef Mario Batali.

Chace Crawford, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Christopher Meloni and designers Catherine Malandrino, Simon Spurr and John Varvatos were in attendance as well.

Kutcher and Moore have made several public appearances since allegations of a marital rift surfaced weeks ago. Arquette has been coping with a recent split from "Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox

David Arquette wants us to know he is having sex again -- but not before splitting with Courteney Cox

David Arquette gets super sexy in Sacramento

After oversharing that he'd not had sex for months with estranged wife Courteney Cox, David Arquette would also like people to know that he didn't have sex with anyone else for 11 years either.

This time he wasn't opening his yap on Howard Stern's satellite radio show -- we'll get to that later -- but rather on that racy, raunchy, hotbed of smut known as "Live! With Regis and Kelly."

Arquette and Cox had a deal where they were separated and could see other people, he said, "So somebody sold the story and I didn't want to get labeled as a cheater."

He didn't mind admitting on a return visit to Stern's show, however, that he cried the first time he had post-nuptial, non-Cox sex.

No permanent emotional scarring, apparently -- Arquette said that in addition to sexing up Jasmine Waltz, he'd hit the sheets with a blond Australian woman he met at a party. Rejecting Stern's advice that he bump uglies with Jennifer Aniston, noting that she's his future ex-wife's best friend, he left the door open for a scandalous tryst with Angelina Jolie instead.

David Arquette update: 'Madhouse' preview, pumpkin patch date with daughter

David Arquette split update While Courteney Cox works away on "Cougar Town," her estranged husband David Arquette is carrying on with projects and quality time with family.

Over the weekend, Arquette hosted a soft-open of "Beacher's Madhouse," the alternative variety act he's hosting for creator Jeff Beacher at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

In a private venue below the hotel lobby, which will play home to the "Madhouse" when it opens to the public in February, "90210" stars Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup celebrated their mutual birthdays with Arquette acting as emcee in a red pinstripe dinner jacket.

Arquette got some family support from sister and transsexual star Alexis Arquette, singing happy birthday to the stars and presenting them with gifts including a giant cake and Samsung Galaxy S phones. Paris and Nicky Hilton, actress Brittany Snow and "90210" costar AnnaLynne McCord attended as well.

David Arquette keeps silent at the Scream Awards 2010

Scream-awards-david-arquett

While we've also got the full scoop on Spike TV's Scream Awards 2010, the edgy telecast saluting the horror and hero genres, we thought you'd also like to check in on David Arquette's whereabouts at the Saturday night event.

Scream-awards-gallery-refer The actor made his first public appearance (not counting Arquette's candid Howard Stern interview) since announcing his separation from his wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox

In tow with cast members Neve Campbell and Emma Roberts, Arquette was on hand to present new footage from "Scream 4," the much-anticipated next chapter of Wes Craven's slasher franchise. Clad in a brown leather jacket and showing a hint of a tan, Arquette walked the red carpet for photos only before sprinting away from broadcast and print media.

Once inside, he stuck close to Campbell and Roberts, sharing snacks like macaroni and cheese and taking more photos. Never too far was his pal Jeff Beacher, with whom he'll host an upcoming variety show at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
