Brooke Burke, David Charvet get married in St. Bart's

Brooke Burke and David Charvet wed in St. Barts

Brooke Burke and David Charvet are married! The "Dancing With the Stars" co-host and her former "Baywatch" hunk made it official Friday.

Burke hinted at the news this morning on Twitter, posting, "morning tweeties. Waiting for LA to wake up....big news to share." Her rep later confirmed the rumors, telling E! News,  "Brooke and David did get married."

The longtime couple, engaged since August 2006, tied the knot under the stars aboard a yacht in St. Bart's, Life & Style reports. Wedding details and photos are sure to follow.

The happy pair have two children together, Rain, 4, and Shaya, 3, along with Burke’s two daughters, Neriah, 11, and Sierra Sky, 9, from her marriage to "Extreme Makeover" plastic surgeon Garth Fisher.

It was actually Rain who stirred up some marriage emotions in May 2010 when she told Burke, "I want you to be a Charvet too mommy." Afterward, Brooke wrote on her blog,  "I would like to have a 'Husband.' David has been calling me his WIFE for years, but I have always joked about being only his wanabee wife. I have never said Husband when referring to him and I rarely correct anyone when they give him that title."

Wannabe wife no more: Brooke's the real deal now.

Hines Ward arrested on suspicion of DUI in Georgia

Hines Ward arrested on DUI charge

Hines Ward is facing a DUI charge after being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving early Saturday morning in Georgia, according to sheriff’s officials there.

The Steelers star turned "Dancing With the Stars" champ was booked at 3:41 a.m. at DeKalb County Jail near Atlanta and later released on $1,300 bond (though according to the sheriff’s website it was $1,000).

Ward, 35, is a former Super Bowl MVP -- he has two Super Bowl rings -- and four-time Pro Bowl selection. He started his career in 1998 when he was drafted in the third round out of Georgia.

Hines Ward mug shotIn May, Ward was held at gunpoint by police in Los Angeles in what turned out to be a mix-up over whether the car he was riding in was a stolen vehicle. It wasn't, and the wide receiver didn't make a big deal about it after the fact. "The police were just doing their job," he said on Twitter. "Apologies were made and it's now in the past."

The Pittsburgh Steelers hadn't yet publicly commented on the wide receiver's arrest. Paperwork has moved along from the sheriff’s office to the courts.

Non-sports fans know him better as the Season 12 champion of “Dancing With the Stars." He won last season with help from professional dancer Kym Johnson.

Ward was the second professional football player to take the Mirror Ball Trophy, with Emmitt Smith the first one back in 2006.

Hines Ward wins 'Dancing With the Stars'

"Dancing With the Stars" champ Hines Ward plans to put his mirror ball trophy right in between his two Super Bowl trophies.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and first-time dancer beat out funny lady Kirstie Alley and Disney darling Chelsea Kane when he won the ballroom dancing competition with partner Kym Johnson on Tuesday, despite her earlier neck injury.

"I have a place in my trophy case with my Super Bowl MVP trophy, right between my two Lombardis. It's gonna look nice," said Ward, a guest blogger on The Times' Fabulous Forum.

Hines earned a perfect score from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli when he and Johnson reenacted their Week 3 samba to Earth, Wind & Fire's "Fantasy," showing off the football player's fluid hips and winning smile.

"That was wonderful," Inaba said during judging. "You dance with heart and it shows."

(In all fairness, Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kane and partner Mark Ballas also earned perfect scores in the much-hyped Season 12 finale.)

Steeler Nation definitely came through for Ward, perhaps with a little bit of help from Johnson's dazzling canary-yellow bustier and bouncy backstage jog.

The 35-year-old athlete said that the "Dancing With the Stars" title and two Super Bowl wins were equally important to him. Seriously.

"They mean different things," he said. "Winning the Super Bowl symbolized being the best in my profession. It along with winning the Super Bowl MVP is the ultimate goal both individually and as a team. It says we are good at what we do as professionals. Winning the mirror ball trophy for me symbolizes overcoming my fear of the unknown. It says that I was able to excel at something I knew nothing about. I was able to rise above difficulty and take a risk. Both prove that hard work pays off. Both are special."

Runner-up Alley, whose body transformation from "Fat Actress" and chemistry with Chmerkovskiy won over many viewers this season, was disappointed by the loss.

"I feel like we did amazing, but you want to win," the 60-year-old actress told reporters after the finale. "We didn't win, so I can't say we didn't have any sadness."

But that didn't last long.

"Oh...ps don't be upset about us not winning for long.... I won so much in the last 13 weeks that it would take hours to convey...LOVE," she later tweeted.

Hines Ward held at gunpoint by cops in not-a-stolen-car mix-up

Hines Ward of "Dancing With the Stars" — whom some might know better as a Super Bowl MVP who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers — was held at gunpoint by police early Thursday in L.A. in what turned out to be a mix-up about a car that hadn't been stolen.

The "Dancing With the Stars" contestant was a passenger in a Honda Civic that was being driven by its owner, a woman who had called the cops last month to report the car stolen after a restaurant valet couldn't find it, then neglected to call off the cops after it was found. She was not identified.

The officers who pulled the car over around 2 a.m. held Ward and the woman at gunpoint and handcuffed them while they sorted out the situation, a police spokeswoman said.

Ward seemed gracious and zen about the situation, despite the guns and cuffs. "I want everyone to know that this was a complete misunderstanding," he said on Twitter. "The police were just doing their job. Apologies were made and it's now in the past."

Law enforcement, incidentally, gave Hines a "10" for being cooperative and understanding during the incident, according to TMZ. Check him out above, sans handcuffs, dancing the tango with "Dancing With the Stars" partner Kym Johnson.

Pia Toscano and 'DWTS' pro Mark Ballas do a dinner date

Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas were spotted out on a date Friday in L.A. in a love connection that appears to be a mix of dating the girl next door and meeting someone at work -- with a professional wrestler as the matchmaker.

In recent weeks, Toscano, 22, and Ballas, 24, have been working on adjacent stages, shooting "American Idol" and "Dancing With the Stars," respectively, with trailers that were geographically compatible.

According to People, the singer "had a crush" on the professional dancer.

Toscano, of course, was voted off "American Idol" on Thursday night and then reportedly got pitched a record deal Friday, ending a big week with dinner at Gulfstream restaurant in Century City. Ballas is partnered this season with Disney doll Chelsea Kane after his high-profile turn last time around dancing with Bristol Palin.

If this is "losing," winning may be overrated -- though hopes for a rush release of a Pia album may be thwarted by the realities of the contract "Idol" contestants are bound by; she told "The Insider" on Monday that no deal had been inked. In the meantime, Ballas' album "HurtLoveBox" (see him singing, above) drops Tuesday.

And what is it with pro wrestlers and this season's "Idol" cast? First James Durbin lost his mind over Hulk Hogan's appearance on the singing show, and now Toscano gets a date thanks to Chris Jericho, who's competing on "DWTS."

Laila Ali and Curtis Conway welcome baby girl Sydney

Laila-ali Laila Ali, daughter of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, welcomed her baby girl, Sydney, with husband Curtis Conway on Tuesday.

"I had my baby girl this morning! Sydney arrived on her due date at 3am! Everyone is happy and healthy," she announced via Twitter.

Ali, 33, a former middleweight champ and "Dancing With the Stars" competitor, married Conway in July 2007. The couple also have a 2 1/2 year old son together named Curtis Muhammad Conway Jr.

Conway, 40, a former NFL wide receiver, retired after the 2004 season. He has played for the Chicago Bears, San Diego Chargers, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.

Bristol Palin is paid $262,500 for abstinence campaign

Bristolstory3 Bristol Palin took home $262,500 in 2009 for advocating against teen pregnancy, tax documents show. Apparently abstinence can be very lucrative.

The big bucks came from the Candie's Foundation, a group aimed at shaping "the way youth in America think about teen pregnancy and parenthood."

"We know that Ms. Palin's work has had a positive effect on creating awareness about teen pregnancy," Candie's spokeswoman Ali Tyrangel said in a statement.

The reality show star, who made headlines as a teen mom in 2008 during her mother Sarah Palin's run for vice president, even took her Candie's campaign on her stint with "Dancing with the Stars." Remember her awkward "pause before you play" sex talk with The Situation?

Critics are already taking shots at Palin, now 20, but some people are defending her, according to E! Online, saying, "The money she received was from multiple projects she did with them. She shot PSAs, print and Internet ads and did town hall meetings, as well, and the money she made was an accumulation of all of that. This is not out of the ordinary for a celebrity to make an income off of a charity they represent."

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy fall on 'Dancing With the Stars,' get back up

Kirstie Alley may have leaned a little too much on "Dancing With the Stars" partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy during their rumba Monday night, leading to the painful tumble the pair took in the ballroom.

Chmerkovskiy, her professional partner on the show whom the Ministry likes to call "the shirtless wonder," said that his thigh gave out and he experienced a "charlie horse" during their routine.

Before they performed, Alley said the dance was supposed to reflect a really difficult time in her life when she lost her mother in a car accident in the 1980s. Perhaps Alley saying it showed "the agony and the ecstasy" was live television's version of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The sweet dance, set to Israel Kamakawio'ole's version of "Over the Rainbow," started off serenely dramatic until the thigh issue. Watch the video above.

The poor shirtless wonder struggled to get up and back on count after taking a few seconds to recover.

"It was sweet. He just looked at me and said, 'Let's keep dancing,'" Alley told E! of the fall. "And I thought, 'I like that.' I have the best partner!"

And Chmerkovskiy said he was pretty embarrassed by the whole thing. "To all the fans...I'm sorry! It will never happen again and I will never 'fall'! To @kirstiealley You were..FLAWLESS! In more ways than one!" he tweeted post-show.

Hear that George Lopez?

"woke up to all of your supportive tweets..humbled..It's good to know that u are in this game with us come RAIN or come SHINE....thank u," Alley tweeted Tuesday morning. Adding, "Maks is too humble.. we all know it takes TWO to Tango..on our feet or on our asses...it takes TWO ..I will do better from now on...xoxo."

But the dance was still pretty stunning and like Bruno Tonioli told Alley, "Once you got up it was better than ever," scoring the pair 21 points out of 30.

What did you think of the dance? Was it agony or ecstasy to watch? Tell us in comments.

Carrie Ann Inaba engaged to boyfriend Jesse Sloan thanks to Regis Philbin

Carrie Ann Inaba is engaged -- boyfriend Jesse Sloan surprised the "Dancing With the Stars" judge while she was filling in for Kelly Ripa with Regis Philbin on "Live With Regis and Kelly" Thursday.

Talk about romantic proposals.

Sloan set up the whole thing with Philbin, who began the segment reading a letter from a man seeking advice on how to propose to his girlfriend. Watch the full proposal above.

Leave it to Rege to set the mood -- dim the lights, play romantic music and pull out a bouquet of flowers -- all the while broadcasting live to America.

Inaba, not catching on until her boyfriend appeared onstage, began crying when he professed his love to her: "I struggle to find the words to express what you mean to me. You're an inspiration. You're everything to me. Will you marry me?"

Um, yes. Though if she said no, she'd probably be more loathed than co-"Dancing" judge Len Goodman.

Our favorite part is Philbin saying, "Whoa!" when Sloan pulled out the ring.

The happy couple kissed and was later congratulated onstage by Howie Mandel and Jake Gyllenhaal, who snapped photos with them and Philbin.

What do you think of the proposal? Too grand or just right? Let us know in comments!

Kirstie Alley, George Lopez declare cease-fire; calm down teams Kirstie and George? [Poll]

Kirstie Alley and George Lopez spar

It seems Kirstie Alley and George Lopez have declared a cease-fire after a week's worth of barbs, fat jokes and Twitter apologies.

Alley hoofed it Monday on the premiere of the 12th cycle of "Dancing With the Stars," prompting Lopez to call her a pig on his TBS show the following evening.

"She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away. Before the show she went to the market, and then she had roast beef, and this is her going all the way home," he said just before showing a clip of a pig squealing.

That began the public feud between the once-chubby comedian and the former "Fat Actress," who has publicly struggled with weight issues for years. Lopez's monologue sparked outrage among various women's groups, and the 60-year-old actress finally acknowledged the jokes via Twitter on Thursday.

"Don't worry about George's comments...just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf...falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs," she wrote.

In response, and instead of bringing it up on his Thursday night telecast, Lopez took to the micro-blogging site to say he was sorry. "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie," he tweeted.
