Country singer Chely Wright marries girlfriend Lauren Blitzer

Chely Wright is married to Lauren Blitzer

Country singer Chely Wright and girlfriend Lauren Blitzer were married Saturday on a country estate in Connecticut, with a celebration that included a few less helicopters and reality-TV cameras than another celeb wedding held the same day in Montecito.

The brides wore white, as seen in a photo of the couple taken "right before we walked out for the ceremony," which Wright posted online.

LGBT activist Blitzer and Wright got engaged in April, a little less than a year after the singer came out publicly as a lesbian. Wright announced that they planned to wed on a Connecticut estate owned by Blitzer's aunt, with 200 guests in attendance, and told E! News at the time that they were working on gowns with designer Jose Dias.

Rosie O'Donnell tweeted encouragement ahead of the big day, and Kristin Chenoweth sent congratulations and love.

Wright and Blitzer were married by a rabbi and a reverend, People said, and treated their 200-plus guests to barbecue afterward.

Also, no veils, Wright told the mag: "We like our hair too much!"

Miranda Lambert joins Blake Shelton, Dia Frampton for 'The Voice' finale

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert isn’t about to let new hubby Blake Shelton have all the fun on his hit show "The Voice." The country songstress will be joining him for the finale and even plans to perform with his finalist Dia Frampton.

So far, Frampton has wowed with emotional renditions of Kanye West's "Heartless" and R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion," but there's no word yet on what she and Lambert plan to perform together.

"It's been a joy watching my husband grow so attached to his team. Truthfully, I am a little jealous that I am not a coach myself. I can't wait to be a part of it," said Grammy-winning Lambert.

"The Voice" coaches are Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine. Each one mentors a group of aspiring singers as they compete for a recording contract and $100,000 prize.

Frampton will be up against Beverly McClellan, Vicci Martinez and Javier Colon at the live show on Tuesday, with the big winner revealed the following night.

Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's disease

Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's disease

Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's disease, and went public Wednesday with his diagnosis in anticipation of questions that might be raised around a number of farewell performances planned for this fall.

"I still love making music," the 75-year-old "Rhinestone Cowboy" singer told People. "And I still love performing for my fans. I'd like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin."

Things got a bit thin earlier this month when, after commenting on Campbell's struggles with lyrics, notes and poor rapport with the audience, one reviewer decribed a June 4 performance in Indiana as a "train wreck better suited for a county-fair beer tent."

"Facing a sold-out audience nestled in a world-class room, Campbell came across as unprepared at best and disoriented at worst," David Lindquist wrote on IndyStar.com.

Kim Campbell told People that her husband, who was diagnosed six months ago, is "still an awesome guitar player and singer."

"But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage," she said, "I wouldn’t want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?' "

The farewell tour will support Campbell's album "Ghost on the Canvas," Pop & Hiss reports. Due out Aug. 30, the new record features guests including Chris Isaak, Dick Dale, Billy Corgan, Brian Setzer and Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen.

The voice of "Southern Nights" (take a listen below) and "Gentle on My Mind" is a five-time Grammy Award winner and has released nearly 60 albums since 1962.

Alzheimer's, which has no cure, strikes one in 8 people age 55 and older, according to a National Institutes of Health task force.

Shania Twain falls, Sheryl Crow flashes panties at CMT awards

Shania Twain and Sheryl Crow both goofed at the CMT Music Awards This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

Shania Twain fell Wednesday night at the CMT Music Awards, stumbling into the same snafu spotlight Sheryl Crow stepped into earlier when she showed off more than she'd planned while performing with Kid Rock.

But both ladies recovered nicely from their respective schadenfreude moments in Nashville.

Shania Twain

Crow wore a short white skirt that gave her minimal coverage while sitting atop a stool during her performance of "Collide." But when the singer moved on to the dancing portion of the duet, her underwear stole the spotlight.

"People all over America are tweeting that I was wearing a really short skirt when I sang with Kid Rock and that when I got up off the stool, I showed my underwear," she said later in the show while presenting an award with Sara Evans

"Well, at least you were wearing underwear," Evans said.

"'Cause I am good, clean family entertainment," the 49-year-old quipped back.

But Crow wasn't the only one with issues. Twain seemingly forgot how to use her feet when walking out to present the award for best male performance. Watch the clip below.

However, the 45-year-old "I Feel Like a Woman" singer, who recently landed a two-year solo residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, took the tumble in stride. In a video posted on her site, she assured fans that she wasn't hurt "making a complete fool" of herself.

"I don't need a stunt double because I do my own stunts," she said.

Touche, ladies. Click the pic for more photos from the CMT Music Awards.

For the record, 12:15 p.m. June 9: An earlier version of this post said Sheryl Crow was 45; in fact, she is 49. Thanks to commenter Dave Bruce for pointing out our snafu.

Willie Nelson gets $500 fine, no jail with marijuana-related plea in Texas

Willie Nelson avoids jail with plea deal in marijuana case

Willie Nelson took a plea deal Wednesday to avoid jail time and begin clearing his legendary name of marijuana-related charges in Texas.

Last November, Hudspeth County Border Patrol officers smelled pot inside the singer-songwriter's tour bus at a checkpoint and officials reported finding "a little bit less than 2 ounces" of marijuana on the bus. Nelson later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, prosecutors agreed to reduce charges if the 78-year-old paid a $500 fine and $280 in court costs. A judge would dismiss the case entirely if Nelson stays out of trouble for 30 days.

"All he has to do is sign the papers and get me a cashier's check for the money," county prosecutor C.R. Bramblett told Reuters.

And despite a prosecutor's joking suggestion in March, it seems the country crooner did not have to perform his hit "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" inside the courtroom to clear his name, according to the New York Post.

"Willie is glad to have it all behind him. Everyone was very fair," Nelson's attorney Joe Turner told TMZ.

Taylor Swift, Shania Twain bring back 'Thelma & Louise'; who will play Brad Pitt?

Taylor Swift and Shania Twain and Thelma and Louise

Taylor Swift and Shania Twain are on the lam and loving it -- from the look of these photos. The two country artists got silly on the set of a Country Music Television Awards shoot as they recreated the iconic characters from "Thelma & Louise."

Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis played the original pair in the 1991 road trip movie about a girls' weekend gone bad, in which the heroines get caught in a murder scandal and take off for Mexico in their 1966 Thunderbird.

While Twain is set to make an appearance at the award show airing Wednesday night, Swift is competing for three awards including video of the year, female video of the year and Web video of the year for her tune "Mine."

Taylor Swift debuts ‘Story of Us’ video [Poll]

Taylorswiftstory

Taylor Swift launched her new "Story of Us" video on MTV on Tuesday night, sparking fresh gossip over who inspired the love song. Swift, who famously wrote "Forever & Always" about ex Joe Jonas, confessed the song is definitely about a former flame.

"Any time I'm onstage or watching the music video, the first thing that comes into my mind is the person I wrote the song about," she told MTV. "It's like the first thing that you think of is the moment that inspired the song, which is that excruciating, awful moment when you run into an ex for the first time."

Could it be John Mayer, Taylor Lautner or even Lucas Till? So far the country star is mum about whom the "Story" is based on, but will offer a few details. "Afterward, I just felt so empty, like we were both fighting this silent war of pretending we didn't care that the other was there," she said. "And I went home, and I wrote this song about it."

The "Story of Us," off her "Speak Now" album, captures the spirit of her awards show encounter, but in a different setting. In the video the couple falls in and out of love in the Vanderbilt University library. Looking especially preppy in her Ivy League get-up, Swift turns up the on-screen angst -- big time.

Whom do you think the video is about?

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are married -- 'It's official!'

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are married

Country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were married Saturday night on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country, after a year of engagement that capped about five years of dating.

"I wanted to be married to Miranda the day I proposed," Shelton, 34, told Us magazine. "Finally, it's official!"

"I'm married to my best friend!" Lambert told the mag after the ceremony. "Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter." The bride reportedly wore her mother's wedding dress.

More than 500 guests -- among them Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley, the Bellamy Brothers, Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and Shelton's fellow "The Voice" judge Cee Lo Green, according to CMT -- gathered at the Don Strange Ranch a ways outside San Antonio.

"So I went to Miranda and Blake Shelton's wedding last night and it was the greatest wedding/reception I've ever been to!," singer Kelly Clarkson wrote Sunday on Facebook. "I feel as though they should renew their vows every year and throw a party as well because everything about it was awesome! Cutest couple ever!"

"Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes. We are blessed and ... I'm Mrs. Cibrian!!!!! So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you," she tweeted on Saturday.

The couple pulled a fast one on friends and family, inviting them to an engagement party that turned out to be a surprise wedding, reports People.

About 40 guests, including Cibrian's sons Mason, 7, and Jake, 4, from his previous marriage to Brandi Glanville, watched as the "Crazy Women" singer walked down the aisle in a Reem Acra gown.

The relationship started with a bit of a scandal, when the country starlet, who is set to release her new cover album, “Lady and Gentleman,” this year, and the actor met on the set of the Lifetime movie "Northern Lights." The rumored romance caused a media blitz, as both were married at the time. Eventually, the buzz died down, and the two became engaged in December 2010.

Rimes also updated her Twitter bio, adding "WIFE, bonus mom" to her self-description.
