'Shark Night 3D' premiere: Sara Paxton and pals spotted in L.A.

"Shark Night 3D"

"Shark Night 3D" had a premiere screening Thursday night in Los Angeles, in step with the start of the long Labor Day weekend and — no kidding — a handful of great white shark sightings off the Southern California coast.

"Shark Night 3D" star Sara Paxton was sighted in a great white dress, joined on the red carpet by fellow cast members including Alyssa Diaz, Chris Carmack, Chris Zylka, Sinqua Walls, Dustin Milligan and Joel David Moore.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Cory Monteith also made the scene, which included an after-party on CityWalk.

Regarding those real-life sharks: Surfers spotted a dorsal fin off La Jolla most recently on Wednesday, resulting in a brief beach closure. There were also a couple of sightings in the San Diego area the week before.

We're betting the only great white shark spotted in the vicinity of the "Shark Night" premiere was Bruce, the one hanging around on the Universal Studios Hollywood back lot.

"Shark Night 3D" opened Friday.

Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith leaving 'Glee'

Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith will be leaving "Glee"

Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith are making a new high school tradition on "Glee": Usually people are bummed when the cool kids are about to graduate.

Lovable uncool kids Rachel, Kurt and Finn will graduate after their upcoming Season 3 senior year and  leave "Glee" and the halls of McKinley High forever.

Colfer, who racked up another Emmy nomination Thursday morning after winning last year for supporting actor in a comedy, said he wasn't expecting the news but agreed with the decision.

"It's definitely not my choice to leave the show, but I understand it’s the right choice," he told Awards Tracker on Thursday. "The show is very real. To have the character grow up and leave and graduate, it’s the right thing to do. I think it's more of a big deal because not too many shows have ever done it before."

Michele tweeted her reaction late Wednesday: "We always knew we'd graduate in real time. It's all part of the plan and it's all good! It's going to make Season 3 amazing!!!"

Silver lining: It would be impossible for the New Directions stars to commute to Broadway from Lima, Ohio, right?

Cory Monteith opens up about drug abuse, rehab

Cory Monetih cops to major drug and alcohol abuse as a teenCory Monteith plays All-American jock Finn Hudson on "Glee," but his own teen years were spent far from the right side of the tracks.

"I'm lucky on so many counts –- I'm lucky to be alive," the actor said in a recent interview in which he confessed to binge drinking and drug use as early as age 13.

Seven years old when his parents divorced, Monteith was skipping class in British Columbia to get high -- a habit that escalated and required intervention from his friends and family.

Cory went off to rehab at 19 but it didn't take. The actor continued to drink and abuse drugs.

"I stole a significant amount of money from a family member," he told Parade. "I knew I was going to get caught, but I was so desperate I didn't care."

That family member threatened to press charges if Monteith didn't get his act together.

"I was done fighting myself. I finally said, 'I'm gonna start looking at my life and figure out why I'm doing this,' " he said.

'Glee' graduation scheduled: Ryan Murphy confirms cast is moving on

The "Glee" kids are graduating High School.

Looks like the singing high schoolers on "Glee," the New Directions, have another big number to prepare: their swan song.

Show creator Ryan Murphy revealed that, after some speculation, he'll be letting show stars such as Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Mark Salling and Dianna Agron follow the natural progression of their characters. Meaning graduation and then, well, bye.

"We didn’t want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline," Murphy said on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

"I don't think of it in terms of eliminating or replacing," he said for any Rachel Berry fans afraid they're swapping her for new blood, "because I think the thing about this cast is people love them and they are incredibly talented. They’ve left sort of an indelible mark.”

This leaves those crazy kids open for movies, albums, reality projects, making some milkshakes for the paparazzi and then any inevitable comebacks. Murphy confirmed that small-screen teachers Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch would remain as the "linchpins" of the series.

'Glee' extra Nicole Crowther fired for revealing prom king and queen on Twitter

'Glee' producer Brad Falchuk gets angry at extra for tweeting prom spoiler

"Glee" extra Nicole Crowther was fired from the hit show for tweeting spoilers about the upcoming prom episode, specifically, who would be prom queen and king.

The somewhat cryptic message was understandable to fans of the show, and "Glee" co-creator Brad Falchuk was less than pleased about the leak. So he went off on the actress, which ultimately resulted in Crowther deactivating her Twitter account and getting the boot from the Fox show.

Those Gleeks don't mess around.

SPOILER ALERT: Do NOT click on the upcoming link if you prefer to be in the dark. Read the tweet here.

A series of angry messages from Gleeks bombarded the micro-blogging site after Crowther sent out the spoilerific tweet, which prompted Falchuk to speak out.

"Who are you to spoil something talented people have spent months to create? Hope you're qualified to do something besides work in entertainment," he tweeted to the regular extra.

Ouch. And so Crowther was fired from the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning Fox show.

"They are not doing reshoots because of my careless mistake so shut up haters and leave me alone. Grow up and get a life," was her final tweet before deactivating her account.

However, a source close to the show said standard Screen Actors Guild day-player union contracts used by the show do not contain non-disclosure agreements, which lay out punishments when plot secrets are blabbed, so the legal ramifications are less serious.

But still, she better watch her back or else she might be thrown up against a locker or get a slushie to the face. Just saying.

Justin Bieber frustrated with Israeli paparazzi; Selena Gomez spotted with ex Nick Jonas

Justin Bieber, performing in the 'My World' tour in Italy, is frustrated with paparazzi in Israel
Poor Justin Bieber — the paparazzi never seem to leave him alone even when he's looking for spirituality in the Holy Land.

Bieber, who stopped in Israel on his "My World" tour, was pestered by paparazzi and took to Twitter to vent his super frustration about his spoiled trip.

"amazing place...not a bad day. just wish got a little more space and privacy from the paps to enjoy this time with my family. Thanks"

But the tweets from Bieber, nominated for a Webby Award Tuesday for his "takeover" of funnyordie.com, began to get progressively more irritable as the trip continued.

"im in the holy land and i am grateful for that. I just want to have the same personal experience that others have here," he wrote, later adding "You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places. All I wanted was the chance to walk where jesus did here in isreal."

The paps continued to snap photos of the Canadian-bred crooner, much to his dismay. But this wasn't the first time he's lashed out against the persistent photographers. In February, he flipped off a paparazzo who wouldn't leave him alone with girlfriend Selena Gomez.

'Glee' guys to host Teen Choice Awards; blogger screams like a little girl [polls]

Glee-guys

Can we have a few volunteers up here to help us elbow little miss Katy Perry out of the way? 'Cause the "Glee" guys — Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith and Mark Salling — have just been announced as her Teen Choice Awards co-hosts, the Wrap notes, and OMG the Ministry wants lots of room for the boys up there on that stage.

Nothing against Katy, of course. But she did have that big spotlight already for her performance at the MTV Movie Awards, so it's only fair that she share now, right? Plus "Glee" is nominated for 13 awards, so it's handy to have the guys around.

One wistful note — no matter what you see on "Glee," remember that not one of these Teen Choice hosts is actually a teen in real life.

The Teen Choice Awards are Aug. 9, and the Ministry will be reporting from the red carpet and beyond. So who's your fave? And is it kosher for an adult male or female to scream like a little girl? The polls are after the break.

Cause for 'Glee': TV academy honors 'television with a conscience'

The_Men_of_Glee-web The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which in September brings you the glitz fest known as the Emmy Awards, quietly honored eight shows that represent "television with a conscience" at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wednesday evening. But don't think the usual laws of Hollywood don't apply to those creators too -- they still have to look good.

That appeared to be news to Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, whose experiences as a volunteer military escort officer were dramatized in the HBO film "Taking Chance."

Strobl-web Introducing a table of wounded Marines before presenting the Television Academy Honor to the film's executive producers, Brad Krevoy and Cathy Wischner-Sola, Strobl said, "I just hope that none of them find out I was just back there getting makeup."

Oops.

This was the third annual installment of the academy's special awards, and this year's crop tackled issues including Alzheimer's disease, physical handicaps, doctor-assisted suicide, autism and the black market for painkillers, explored in Current TV's "The OxyContin Express." So the traffic got pretty busy up there on the podium.

As "Celebrity Apprentice" Holly Robinson-Peete was introducing the award for "Unlocking Autism," produced by Figure 8 Films for Discovery Health, she suddenly stopped. "The vice president is in front of my teleprompter," she said ...
