Charlize Theron talks Kristen Stewart, taps into Rage

Charlize Theron talks Snow White and Kristen Stewart

Charlize Theron is on a two-week break from her evil queen duties in "Snow White and the Huntsman," and is enjoying her time in glamorous, movie-star fashion -- playing video games.

"I'm a bit of a gamer," she told us at Friday night's launch party for the new game Rage, a first-person shooter from Bethesda Softworks. "Not too crazy, but I've been known to game."

Theron served as host for the launch, which staged a full takeover of Chinatown's historic Gin Ling Lane -- vendors, restaurants and booze joints all -- and featured a performance from the Black Keys.

Turning heads in a black tuxedo jacket and tiny cocktail dress, Theron paused to reflect on her current gig as Kristen Stewart's nemesis in the dark retelling of the fairy tale.

"I haven't gotten to work with [Kristen] yet ... it's mostly been me and my kingdom, alone, while everyone is out looking for her," she said. Production will resume in two weeks in London, where the pair will finally go head-to-head.

Joerage "We've had one day together, she did some off-camera for me and we got to hang out a little bit. She's super cool and she's going to be amazing in this," Theron said.

The Oscar winner has been making some interesting choices of late, departing from leading lady fare and catsuit-sporting action leads. In addition to her villainous turn in "Snow White," she'll portray an alcoholic writer of teen books in Jason Reitman's "Young Adult."

Penned by Diablo Cody and set for a holiday release, there's talk that Charlize could be an awards contender come January.

"More than anything, I wanted to work with Jason Reitman and I thought the material was really interesting. I try not to think about that stuff too much and just respond organically," she said.

Organically responding to the festivities on Gin Ling Lane was George Clooney's current girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, who arrived alone but found some pals to catch up with. Newly single "True Blood" werewolf Joe Manganiello was on the prowl, hanging with a male pal and saying hello to "Captain America" star Chris Evans.

"Wonder Woman" star Lynda Carter made an appearance, as did Seth Green, John Krasinski and Alessandra Ambrosio.

A Ministry shout-out to Topher Grace, who cut an impossibly long men's room line by obliging one of the gift shop vendors with a photo, getting him escorted into their private bathroom.

First Look: Kristen Stewart in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

Kristen Stewart reveals a first look at her in "Snow White and The Huntsman"
With Kristen Stewart in the driver's seat, one forthcoming depiction of Snow White has nary a singing bird or yellow skirt in sight.

For the dark, fantasy-style retelling of the fable, Stewart and her filmmakers are setting us up for an all-out war -- as evidenced by the major armor she is rocking in a first look (above) from "Snow White and the Huntsman," released at Comic-Con this weekend.

"I’m very well-behaved, I take myself very seriously,” Stewart said of her character at a panel for the film, "...and she really likes apples."

Stewart has Charlize Theron as her nemesis and evil queen. At the fan-heavy convention, Theron described the mean monarch as a "serial killer." Stewart also has the able-bodied Chris Hemsworth in the role of Huntsman, the burly deep woods assassin tapped by Theron to cut out Stewart's heart.

The Huntsman defies his queen, and Stewart finds some time to nab eight dwarfs (Eddie Izzard and Ian McShane counted among them) and a prince in Sam Claflin.

What do you think of Stewart's Snow White look?

Charlize Theron on marriage, gay marriage and the closets

Charlize Theron Charlize Theron has decided marriage isn't for her, but still thinks anyone who does find the institution important should be allowed to marry.

Meanwhile, she worries her "bit of OCD" when it comes to closets might hurt her in the long-term-relationship department.

"I really want for myself a long-term relationship, and I have been in long-term relationships, and so ... that's the kind of union that I want," the actress said Wednesday on "Piers Morgan Tonight." "The actual ceremony is not something that's important to me."

Theron said in 2009 that she would not marry then-boyfriend Stuart Townsend unless same-sex marriage were made legal. After nine years together, she broke up with him in the wake of a Christmas 2010 trip to Mexico.

So, now that she's single -- there's the closet thing.

"I have a thing about things that are hidden," Theron said. "Like I will -- yes, I have a hard time, especially when I'm, like, renting a house if I'm working on a film and I don't know what's in all the -- I have to know what's in all the -- this is so pathetic. I cannot believe we're talking about this."

Pressed for details, she revealed that upon arrival in a new place, the first thing she does is inspect every closet and drawer. Then she has to put things where they belong, in a manner that allows access a certain way, and -- did she mention, Piers, that this is pathetic?

"Seriously, would you stop talking about it? Really beginning to freak me out now," she said. "I am single. I need to find a man. ... This is not going to help."

Somehow, we can't imagine it hurting that much either.
