Rima Fakih, former Miss USA, arrested on suspicion of DUI

Rima Fakih, the 2010 Miss USA, was arrested by police early Saturday morning near Detroit on suspicion of DUI.

It seems the first Arab American to win the Miss USA crown at first didn't want anyone to know what happened. According to the Detroit Free-Press, a tweet was sent out on the beauty queen's official account Saturday after media began reporting on the arrest, claiming that it was a different Fakih who had been arrested. The tweet was later removed.

Fakih's attorney, Doraid Elder, told the newspaper on Sunday: "She is taking full responsibility. She wants to apologize to everybody she let down."

According to Elder, Fakih was acting as designated driver for her friend when she realized she was too intoxicated to drive herself. When she pulled over, she was spotted by police and picked up.

Local TV station WXYZ reported that Fakih blew a .20 on the breathalyzer, far above Michigan's legal limit of .08. Elder said he hadn't seen the police report and couldn't not confirm the number.

During an appearance on the Fox News program "Fox & Friends," Miss USA pageant organizer Donald Trump responded to the arrest by saying, "I am very surprised to hear it, I'm very disappointed actually. I hope she's fine."

Fakih, the first Miss Michigan to become Miss USA since 1993, ended her reign in June.

Redmond O'Neal arrested again on suspicion of drug possession

Redmond O'Neal arrested again

Redmond O'Neal, son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, was pulled over for a traffic violation in Santa Monica on Tuesday and ended up arrested once again on suspicion of drug possession and a probation violation.

Redmond was pulled over around 8:15 a.m. for running a red light and arrested a short time later after a search of his car allegedly turned up heroin and marijuana, police told L.A. Now.

O'Neal has been on probation, in rehab or in jail on drug-related charges -- involving cocaine, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine -- for the better part of the last decade. Though he was allowed out to visit his mom when she was dying of cancer, he learned of her death while incarcerated. (He did attend the funeral.) Most recently he did about a month behind bars for violating probation, after which he was released into residential rehab. In May he was moved to a sober-living facility.

O'Neal was being held without bail after being booked on charges including the red light infraction, violating felony drug probation and possession of a controlled substance, police said. He's due in court Tuesday.

Coincidentally, Griffin O'Neal was hospitalized Tuesday after a head-on collision in the San Diego area. Griffin is Ryan's son with actress Joanna Cook Moore, who's also the mother of Tatum O'Neal.

Samantha Ronson arrested on suspicion of DUI

Samantha Ronson has been arrested on suspicion of DUI

Cue the record-scratch sound effect: Samantha Ronson has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The disc jockey, former love interest to Lindsay Lohan and sister of Amy Winehouse music producer Mark Ronson, was pulled over after officials said she was speeding outside Baker, Calif., at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Officials said she was given a field sobriety test -- which she didn't exactly pass.

With only her black Porsche as companion, Ronson, 33, refused a voluntary roadside breathalyzer test and was arrested, police said. Officials said she later submitted to a test at a Baker police station, allegedly blowing over the legal limit.

Ronson admitted drinking late Sunday night or early Monday, an officer told Us Weekly. "She went to bed and got up this morning and was on her way home," the officer said. She'd been stopped for going 89 mph in a 70 mph zone, officials said.

Ronson, who was headed back to L.A. from a Las Vegas spinning gig at the Palazzo Hotel's Lavo nightclub, was cooperative with police, according to TMZ.

The Ministry spotted Ronson on Saturday night in good spirits, singing for an acoustic guitar set at the Chateau Marmont for Carrera's Summer Escape event, attended by the likes of Jamie King, Jena Malone, Rumer Willis and Brandi Glanville.

Tori Spelling crashes car at her kids' school, tweets anger at paparazzi

Tori Spelling crashed her car at her kids school The paparazzi are driving Tori Spelling up a wall -- or directly into one, the reality star tweeted Monday, saying a photographer caused an accident at her kids' Los Angeles school.

"Paparazzi chased me w/the kids 2school," the star wrote of her morning commute with little ones Liam, 4, and Stella, 2.

"I was trying to get away from him and had a pretty big accident. Took down whole wall of school."

Spelling's rep told People magazine that the expectant mom, who announced in April that her third child was on the way, was feeling fine but getting a checkup regardless.

Spelling said all was good with the baby but that her nerves are shot.

"[The paparazzo] STILL got out to try to get pics. 10 school moms chased him away. Wht will it take? Someone dying for paparazzi to stop? Going to dr now to check on baby. I think its just shock," she said.

Sean Kingston breathing on his own, improving but still hospitalized after jet ski crash

Sean Kingston walking, breathing on his own

Doctors upgraded singer Sean Kingston's medical condition from "critical but stable" to "serious" Monday after a Miami jet ski accident landed the singer in a hospital over Memorial Day weekend.

"Sean Kingston continues to be hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami," rep Joseph Carozza said in a statement about his client's progress.

"His condition has been upgraded to serious. Sean is breathing on his own and walked for the first time this morning. Sean thanks his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes."

The 21-year-old "Beautiful Girls" and "Fire Burning" singer crashed into the Palm Island Bridge on May 29 while piloting a watercraft with passenger Cassandra Sanchez, who sustained minor injuries. Kingston broke his jaw, fractured his wrist and collected water in his lungs, US Weekly said.

Kingston, real name Kisean Anderson, was born in Miami but raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Pulled from the water by a passing boater and placed in an intensive care unit after the accident, the reggae-influenced rapper is expected to make a full recovery in about six weeks.

Lindsay Lohan car chase case settled, dismissed

Lindsay Lohan settles car chase case Lindsay Lohan has finally settled her July 2007 car chase case with Tracie Rice.

The actress reached a settlement agreement Wednesday with Rice, the woman whom Lohan allegedly chased down Pacific Coast Highway in her assistant's mother's car and "terrorized," TMZ reported.

The "Gotti: Three Generations" actress had been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and cocaine possession when the chase ended in a Santa Monica parking lot. Rice brought the suit in 2008, but in the meantime, Lohan took a plea deal for the DUI and another from May 2007 and was put on probation, which she subsequently and infamously kept violating.

The Rice case had been delayed several times because of Lohan's stints in jail and rehab.

Lohan's attorney Ed McPherson confirmed that the actress and Rice reached a confidential deal.

"Lindsay is very pleased to put this unfortunate event behind her," McPherson wrote in a statement to the Associated Press.

Lohan, who is under house arrest for her probation violation and misdemeanor theft conviction, still faces a lawsuit with the three passengers in the car before she allegedly commandeered it to go after Rice.

Ronnie Blake, Jakon Sutter and Dante Nigro have accused her of assault, battery, negligence, slander, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming from the incident. McPherson said Lohan expects to be vindicated in that case.

Estella Warren allegedly crashes into parked cars, is arrested and attempts to flee

Estella Warren arrested This post has been corrected. See the note at the bottom for details.

Actress Estella Warren was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of felony drunk driving after allegedly crashing her Toyota Prius into parked cars and attempting to escape authorities.

The "Planet of the Apes" and "Kangaroo Jack" actress was arrested around 11 p.m. Monday near her home in the 600 block of Harper Avenue in West Los Angeles, LA Now reported. Warren, a former Victoria's Secret model and Maxim's hottest woman of 2000, showed signs of intoxication.

When she was detained, she wiggled out of her handcuffs, kicked the officer and tried to run out of the police station, TMZ reported. As a result, Warren will likely face escape charges in addition to assault, hit and run and DUI charges.

"She was uncooperative and demanding," the rep added.

The actress was booked at 3:10 a.m. and released at 2:35 p.m. after posting bail at $100,000, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department website. The site also indicated that the actress was born in 1970, making her 40, not 32 as other reports have indicated.

She is set to appear in court June 14.

For the Record, 7:59 p.m. May 24: An earlier version of this post said a representative for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department told People that "Warren hit three parked cars in what was considered three separate collisions." The Sheriff’s Department has since told The Times that the People report was in error, and the quote has been removed.

Rick Springfield allegedly threatened deputy during DUI arrest

Rick Springfield threatened deputies, sources alleged The night Rick Springfield was arrested for drunk driving, the singer allegedly threatened to kill a sheriff's deputy and his family, a detail that was not included in the arrest record, a report said Monday.

The "Jessie's Girl" singer was arrested in Malibu earlier this month after deputies saw him make "a maneuver away from the light" that prompted law enforcement to pull him over in his 1963 Corvette.

Deputies said they smelled alcohol on his breath and when Springfield was given a breathalyzer test, his blood alcohol level was 0.10%, which exceeds the California legal limit of 0.08%

Springfield, 61, was extremely angry when deputies said they would tow his $200,000 Sting
Ray, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

"If you tow my car I will ... kill you and your family," he reportedly said. The arrest report, however, indicated only that Springfield had been "belligerent," without any specifics about a threat being made.

"It has nothing to do with the germane issues at hand, which is blood-alcohol level, field sobriety test, how the person was operating the vehicle," L.A. County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told the Ministry about the reportedly absent details.

"Drunks say things all the time, and they say things that are ridiculous, notorious and vicious to cops," Whitmore said. "Our job is to get them off the street so they don't hurt other people. We don't take whatever they say seriously. It is rare that we get someone on a DUI that isn't abusive."

As for whether the alleged Springfield quote was accurate, Whitmore said he had "no idea" because he wasn't there.

"This happens all the time. People that are drunk even take swings at deputies."

"Someone has leaked information illegally," Springfield's rep said in a statement. "It's a sad reflection on society today that people in law enforcement who we look up to, pander to the celebrity gossip channels."

Springfield was arrested and taken into custody at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station, then released on a $5,000 bond after he sobered up. (That's the same station where Mel Gibson was taken after he was arrested "without incident" on a DUI charge in 2006.)

The D.A. has Springfield's file and will determine whether to charge him with DUI.

Rapper Flavor Flav arrested on outstanding traffic warrants

Flavor Flava, aka William Drayton Jr.'s mug shot for arrest Flavor Flav -- real name William Jonathan Drayton Jr. -- was arrested in Las Vegas on Friday after a routine traffic stop resulted in police officers finding four warrants out for his arrest. The rapper took to Twitter on Monday to tell his side of the story.

Drayton was pulled over by police at 10:57 p.m. Friday for a routine traffic violation east of the Las Vegas Strip. When an officer ran his name through the system, the warrants came up; he was arrested and taken to jail, where he was booked, got his mug shot taken and was eventually released, TMZ reported.

The 52-year-old Public Enemy alum's four separate misdemeanor traffic warrants include driving without proof of insurance, a parking violation and two cases of driving without a license.

It was unclear when the warrants were issued, the Las Vegas Sun reported. But in 2002, Drayton served nine weeks at Rikers Island jail in New York for various auto-related violations including driving with a suspended license, numerous parking tickets and being late for meetings with his probation officer.

The VH1 reality television star known for wearing quirky sunglasses and a clock around his neck aired his version of events online Monday, tweeting that he was on his way home from Benihana's when he was pulled over.

Flavor Flav arrested He also re-tweeted his newest mug shot, above.

"[H]e found out I had a traffic warrant wanted to make a name for himself took me in and now I'm home laying my bed what's the big deal?!" he added.

Hey, when rapper-actor Ice-T tweeted about a "rookie cop" arresting him after a traffic stop he disagreed with in New York, charges eventually were dropped.

Drayton dropped out of school in 11th grade and did time in jail for robbery and burglary. He dealt with drug addiction in the 1990s and in 1991 spent 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Karen Ross, according to US Magazine.

In 1993, he was charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at a neighbor.

Rick Springfield arrested on suspicion of DUI in Malibu

Rick Springfield arrested on driving under the influence charge Rick Springfield, the guy who sang "Jessie's Girl," was arrested in Malibu on Sunday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sheriff's deputies pulled over the soap actor-turned-crooner in his 1963 Corvette around 8 p.m., making the traffic stop near Pacific Coast Highway and Trancas Canyon Road, said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

"He made a maneuver away from the light and it prompted them to stop and pull him over," Whitmore said. It was unknown what Springfield did that caught the deputies' attention.

When they pulled him over, deputies said, they smelled alcohol on Springfield's breath and asked him to breathe into a breathalyzer. The 61-year-old blew a 0.10% on the field sobriety test, according to Whitmore. The legal limit in California is 0.08.

Springfield was arrested and taken into custody at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station. After he sobered up, Whitmore said, the singer was released on $5,000 bond around 2:10 a.m.

That's the same station where Mel Gibson was taken after he was arrested "without incident" on a DUI charge in 2006. Once details of that arrest were leaked, it turned into quite an incident for the actor.

Rick Springfield arrested after appearance at Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

Earlier on Sunday at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, Springfield had joked that he would take his pants off to keep one bored audience member interested. Promoting his new memoir "Late, Late at Night," he said he would not be reprising his role as Dr. Noah Drake on "General Hospital," nor strutting his stuff on "Dancing With the Stars."

Springfield also divulged that he never did get the girl who inspired "Jessie's Girl," according to Jacket Copy.
