Kris Humphries and New Jersey Nets staying together

Kris Humphries has been invited back for another year with the New Jersey Nets
Kris Humphries has no problem with staying power in one of his relationships — that with his NBA team, the New Jersey Nets.

Now that the labor lockout has been resolved, the basketball team has asked Humphries back for another year.

Terms of the deal say Kris will once again sport his jersey to the tune of $8 million, according to Yahoo Sports, and should be with the team for Wednesday's exhibition game against the New York Knicks. Kim Kardashian's husband of 72 days passed his team physical on Tuesday.

The report notes that Humphries had the year of his career in 2010, becoming "one of the best per-minute rebounders in the league." Skills that will, uh, serve him well in personal matters

Debra Messing and hubby David Zelman separate

Debra Messing and David Zelman

Debra Messing and husband Daniel Zelman have quietly separated after more than a decade together.

The "Will & Grace" star and the actor-producer privately separated earlier this year after a 10-year marriage, a rep for the couple said Tuesday in a statement.

"The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family," the rep added exclusively to Us Weekly. The couple have a 7-year-old son together, Roman.

The duo met as students at New York University in the '90s. They continue to live under the same roof in New York City, where Messing is filming "Smash," the Steven Spielberg-produced NBC drama about the making of a Broadway musical.

Demi Moore in no rush to trade @mrskutcher? We can play that game

Demi Moore will stay @mrskutcher for now.

Demi Moore is just fine being @mrskutcher for now, people, and she doesn't particularly care if you have a problem with that.

Moore and estranged husband Ashton Kutcher have been a force on Twitter for years under the handles @aplusk (him) and @mrskutcher (duh), counting almost 8.8 million and 4.4 million followers, respectively. So naturally, the news of their pending divorce had at least a couple of folks pondering the fate of her very relationship-specific screen name.

The answer? Ms. Moore is not sweating it right now. "changing my twitter name isn't a top priority right now," Demi tweeted Wednesday. "sorry it bothers so many of u. should I not tweet until I do? does it really matter?"

Sorry? Really? Mmm-kay. We believe you.

So we will forget letting it bother us and instead will allow the conundrum to entertain us. Should Demi Moore morph to @exmrskutcher? @apluskminusdm? Just @demi (OK, that one's taken)?

Share your probably-way-better, keep-'em-clean ideas in comments -- we'll elevate top choices into the post after a while, for the enjoyment of all.

Hulk Hogan sues ex-wife Linda over abuse accusations

Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) is going to court to fight back against accusations made by his ex-wife Linda that he abused her during their 24-year relationship and had a gay love affair with another wrestler.

The source of the tension is Linda Hogan's 2011 autobiography, "Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes." In the book, she claims the semiretired pro wrestler would physically abuse her, including dragging her by her hair and clothes and choking her.

Additionally, during her rounds of media interviews to promote the book, Linda hinted to an interviewer that Hogan may have had a sexual affair with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake (real name Ed Leslie). In another interview, she compared herself to Nicole Brown Simpson, slain ex-wife of O.J. Simpson.

The St. Petersburg Times reports Hogan has filed a civil suit in Clearwater, Fla., claiming the book and the interviews Linda Hogan has given have "harmed the reputation of Mr. Bollea, exposed him to distrust, hatred, contempt and ridicule."

The book and interviews could be seen as Linda's revenge for Hulk Hogan's own tell-all book "My Life Outside the Ring," published in 2009, which said Linda was an "abusive alcoholic."

The Hogans had their lives taped as part of the reality series "Hogan Knows Best," which aired from 2005 until 2007. Shortly after the cancellation of the series, Linda Hogan filed for divorce after tabloid reports surfaced that Hulk had an affair with a female friend of their daughter.

Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz finalize divorce

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are finally, officially over — the couple's divorce was finalized by a judge in Los Angeles on Nov. 22, according to court documents reported on by TMZ this week.

The couple is keeping the exact terms of the divorce confidential, per the Associated Press. Though a 103-page agreement has been drafted, it will only be filed if a dispute arises later.

Since the agreement isn't public, details concerning the custody of the couple's 3-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, are unclear. When the couple filed for divorce in February, Simpson sought primary custody of the boy, with visitation rights for the former Fall Out Boy bassist. Wentz responded that he was seeking joint custody.

Upon filing for divorce, the couple had cited "irreconcilable differences." At the time, sources told TMZ that Wentz had tried to talk his wife out of filing papers but that Simpson had wanted out of their nearly three-year marriage for some time because she could no longer handle the rocker's alleged "erratic behavior."

Celebrity breakups of 2011: How many can you name?

Arnold and Maria, Kat and Jesse, Kris and Kim, Demi and Ashton

Lots of celebrity couples broke up in 2011 ... how many can you remember? We shouldn't kick up our heels at evidence that the famous and well-funded are as human and fallible as ordinary folk. But it's pretty hard not to.

"Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world."

Yes, Ashton, yes it is.

Kutcher -- who allegedly spent his and Demi's sixth anniversary fooling around with a San Diego party receptionist -- was among those thinking deep, end-of-relationship thoughts as 2011 drew toward a close.

ScarJo had a tough 2011 on the personal front.  She had a tough 2010 too, splitting up with Ryan "Sexiest Man Alive" Reynolds. She followed that this year with a split from Sean "I'm 24 Years Older Than You" Penn. Topping it all off, photos of her bare backside and upper body, hacked from her phone, were trotted out all over the Internet. Those pictures weren't for 24 Years Older Than You, by the way; they were for then-husband Sexiest Man Alive.

Meanwhile, Kat Von D, whose upper body has been seen bare without the hassle of hacking, found herself planning a summer wedding, then later counting the number of alleged hook-ups by fiance Jesse James while they were together.

"Today I encountered the 19th girl to add to the list of people Jesse cheated on me with during this last year ..." the tattoo artist wrote in mid-November on Facebook.

Which is worse: someone cheating on you behind your back, or someone who doesn't back your behind? Kris Humphries allegedly said Kim Kardashian had a fat behind.

And you know where that couple landed -- the same place as all the other couples in our gallery: Splitsville.

Kris Humphries: Annul it, void it, just make it all go away

Kris Humphries wants an annulment

Kris Humphries is having a legal field day this week, parrying soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim Kardashian's divorce petition with a request for legal separation and an annulment instead -- and as of Friday he reportedly wants their prenup disappeared as well.

Humphries asked for an annulment of the marriage in a response filed Thursday in L.A. Superior Court. Kardashian filed for divorce on Oct. 31 after 72 days of wedded bliss or something. TMZ said Friday that the pro basketball player wants the annulment for religious reasons.

The annulment is being sought on the grounds of fraud, according to court documents. That sounds pretty nasty, but it's also a box that can be checked if it can't be alleged that one or the other party involved was already married, was too young to get married or was physically incapable of getting married at the time of, you know, getting married.

PHOTOS: Celebrity breakups of 2011

Of course, there are also the boxes alleging that someone wasn't of sound mind at the time of the wedding, or that someone was forced to say "I do." But there we are again, getting back into nasty territory. Plus the last two don't count if the parties lived together freely after getting hitched -- and of course, Kris and Kim's cohabitation was captured on camera for the sake of reality TV.

Oops.

Humphries wants the prenup voided not because of any his-and-hers property issues but rather, according to Radar Online, to nix what a source calls an "extensive" confidentiality clause.

"Kris wants to be able to talk about the situation without being sued," said a Radar source supposedly close to the situation. Apparently, the thinking is that if the marriage were annulled, it would be as if it never existed, so a prenup would become moot. Well, never existed except for the two-part TV special.

Kim, meanwhile, doesn't appear too worried about a judge buying that the marriage was contrived for the cameras. She's reportedly told friends that as a "marketing genius" along with mom Kris Jenner, there's no way she'd set herself up for the Kardashian brand bashing that has resulted from filing for divorce.

Also, the couple still have not yet determined an important element of their split: Who gets Bruce Willis? Oh wait -- that's a different divorce.

Guy Ritchie calls marriage to Madonna a 'soap opera'

Guy Ritchie calls his marriage to Madonna a soap opera

Guy Ritchie is in a philosophical space lately, or rather philosophical in a promotional space for his upcoming "Sherlock Holmes" sequel, and a recent talk turned to his former wife, Madonna.

"It's definitely not something I regret. The experience was ultimately very positive," he tells Details of his marriage to Madge. "I love the kids that came out of it and I could see no other route to take. But you move on, don't you?"

Both he and Madonna have had multiple loves since their 2008 split but Ritchie isn't done waxing on their whirlwind union -- complete with an imagined revamp for the star, who became an equestrian English bride and mum under Guy's watch.

"I stepped into a soap opera, and I lived in it for quite a long period of my life. I'll probably be more eloquent on it 10 years from now," he said.

Ritchie and Madonna share 11-year-old son Rocco and 6-year-old son David Banda, adopted from Malawi. Madonna has stylish teen Lourdes Leon from a previous relationship. Guy and new love Jacqui Ainsley welcomed a baby boy in September.

Kim Kardashian made a big fat Christmas card mistake?

Kim Kardashian

Finally, the Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries divorce has come dangerously close to affecting the rest of us. Word is there was a problem with a Kardashian Christmas card.

Before panicking, know this: The official Kardashian kristmas kard photo shoot went down Monday, according to a tweet from Kim, so the future of Hollywood's holiday cheer appears to be intact.

"Shooting our family Christmas card today," she wrote. "u guys will love our theme this year. Hanging w the fam is the best! Then off 2 see Rob dance!"

(Rob Kardashian, of course, kicked some serious freestyle booty while shaking his own notable booty Monday on the first part of the "Dancing With the Stars" finals. He took home a perfect score of 30 for his second dance, with sisters Kim and Khloe there in the audience, along with Kris and Bruce Jenner, and is up for the Mirror Ball Trophy tonight on ABC.)

But back to the important stuff -- the Kim-and-Kris card that didn't see the light of day.

After a Christmas-card picture of the newlyweds was taken in August on the staircase at the Montecito spread where they were married, before they scooted for their honeymoon, Kim reportedly asked a stationery company for at least 10 versions to choose from, a source told Radar Online. She checked out said proofs in mid-September. And then filed for divorce on Halloween. In a perfect world, any money spent to that point would have actually caught on fire.

"She conveyed to the owners of the company that she was very pleased with the results," the source said. "Kim said she would get back to them with a final choice, but alas, she never did, for obvious reasons."

Another unnamed insider, by the way, would have you believe that Humphries was actually the bad guy responsible for the "obvious reasons": "He tried to control Kim by bringing her down," someone without a name told Us Weekly, describing hubby's hard-partying ways and alleging the 26-year-old had a mean streak. "He would say truly terrible things. One time, he said she had no talent and her fame wouldn't last."

And this one other time? Clutch those pearls quickly! He allegedly said she had a fat behind.

Nevertheless, it sounds as if we'll still have our annual fun checking out the full-family Kardashian Kard -- last year's theme probably wasn't supposed to be "The Addams Family," but that, fabulously, is sort of what happened.

Kris Humphries calls split 'difficult,' finds solace in watch gig

Kris Humphries

For Kris Humphries, the pain of life's difficulties is eased by good friends — friends like the watch company that's paying him to endorse their product.

The unusual crutch helping Humphries through his divorce from Kim Kardashian comes courtesy of Sector watches, which just unveiled the 26-year-old as its spokesman.

The NBA player, unemployed thanks to the league's lockout, fetched a reported $150,000 for the campaign. But, he said, he got so much more than a bank account boost.

"As you all know, this has been a difficult time in my life, and I'm so grateful [for] my friends at Sector for their unwavering support," he said Thursday at a New York press conference.

Funny — the Ministry's watch reminds us only of how young we aren't getting and certainly doesn't offer cash rewards or even wavering support. But we're not jealous.

Kim's got her army of sisters and Twitter fans and the odd acting gig to see her through. We're glad you found a port in a storm, Kris. And by that we mean not a wrist accessory, but your own divorce attorney.
