Michelle Williams, Bradley Cooper hit Weinstein Co. Globes bash

Harvey Weinstein and Michelle Williams celebrate a pre-Globes party

It may have been merely hump day everywhere else in the world, but in Los Angeles, Wednesday held an exciting start to the coming Golden Globes madness.

The Weinstein Co. took over the exclusive walls of the Chateau Marmont lobby and adjoining patio to toast its nominees and well-wishers, chief among them Michelle Williams -- Globe-nominated for her turn as Marilyn Monroe in "My Week With Marilyn."

With her perma plus-one Busy Phillips at her side, Williams shook hands and took compliments, lighting up significantly upon seeing pal Bradley Cooper swing by.

Ridiculously gorgeous Paula Patton changed the molecules in the room with a form-fitting leather mini-dress, greeting a scruffy Jamie Foxx and Harvey Weinstein himself. "The Artist" lead Jean Dujardin roamed, sipping Grey Goose and mingling with the film's composer and costume designer.

The Ministry was excited to see the man behind one of the year's most talked-about performances: Andy Serkis, who portrays Caesar in "Rise of The Planet of The Apes." We mentioned James Franco's recent missive about Serkis, saying his performance was deserving of Oscar gold.

"That's was totally unexpected and very sweet of him," Serkis told us.

Also sweet: Jane Lynch and wife Lara Embry sticking close together while actors Dane Cook and Jeremy Piven chatted up executive types. Geena Davis and Andie MacDowell looked luminous, conjuring the inevitable "How does she do it?" chatter from VIP wives and publicists.

It was a perfect evening to kick off this weekend's action -- stay tuned to our Division of Fabulous Parties for sightings, scoop and more.

Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper reportedly dating -- hear the sizzle?

Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper

Zoe Saldana? Hottie. Bradley Cooper? Hottie. And if the two are dating, as was reported Wednesday, that's going to be one hot gene pool for us celebrity voyeurs to wade in.

Over the summer, Saldana worked with Cooper, this year's People Sexiest Man Alive, on "The Words," a big-screen thriller expected to open next year.

Last month, the "Avatar" actress and Keith Britton, her entrepreneur beau of 11 years, announced they'd broken off their engagement. Cooper and Rene Zellweger split up in March after less than two years together; there was a gossipy stir in September when he and Jennifer Lopez had dinner together, reportedly to discuss a project.

Cooper and Saldana are "totally dating," an unnamed source told E! News exclusively, earning our love immediately with the passionate use of "totally." According to E!, the two were telling friends they intended to go skiing together in the Rockies over the holidays.

Saldana's rep could not be reached for comment.

Bradley Cooper named sexiest man alive; Ryan Gosling fans weep

Bradley Cooper is People magazine's sexiest man alive 2011

It's a good day to be Bradley Cooper: The actor has been named People magazine's sexiest man alive for 2011. It's also an OK day to be Ryan Gosling, because his legion of fans really, really think he should've gotten the title instead of Cooper.

"I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this," Cooper said of the honor. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."

Bradley Cooper is the 2011 Sexiest Man AliveA guy who doesn't look like a model. Well, if you insist. But the Ministry is all about Cooper, who has hit his leading-man stride nicely with the success of "The Hangover 2" and a slew of top-lining projects in the mill -- not to mention his easy smile and next-door charm.

And though Gosling does make it in this "sexiest" issue, some of his fans are more in the Bradley-is-horrifying camp -- and they aren't being shy online about their adoration and opinion that the "Ides of March" star should be gracing the cover.

Team Bradley is emblazoned on our T-shirt, but we can't ignore some of the more hilarious pro-Gosling efforts, such as 63 reasons Bradley Cooper isn't the sexiest man alive.

Other able-bodied men in the issue include Idris Elba, Liam Hemsworth, Justin Theroux and Chris Evans.

Jennifer Lopez explains tear-filled 'One Love' performance

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez got a little verklempt during a concert performance this weekend, proving the diva isn't afraid to share her softer side with fans.

Lopez staged an elaborate retelling of her love life Saturday via her new song "One Love," jamming for an audience at the Mohegan Sun casino's 15th anniversary in Connecticut. The choreographed number accompanying the track included lookalikes of exes such as Diddy, Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony.

All that dancing catharsis got the best of Lopez, who broke down into tears during the number.

"After I sang the song, I’m standing there, and I realized that I did bare a little bit of my thoughts in this song. I also acted it out, kind of, for the audience," she told "Access Hollywood" after the show. "The way they received it was very touching."

She added: "I think that they felt what I felt, which is, you know, I'm just a girl, just like everybody else, trying to find my way."

Lopez recently split from third husband Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme. Most recently, the "American Idol" judge has been spotted spending time with actor Bradley Cooper. Never let it be said that Jennifer doesn't love some new dance steps.

Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lopez wine and dine in New York

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lopez

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lopez know how to lend a prix fixe meal some heat a la carte — by simply enjoying such a dinner date together.

The two single actors broke bread at New York City's Per Se, a swanky upper west side eatery that boasts a $295 prix fixe chef's tasting menu. Saturday night also saw them indulging in an hours-long conversation.

The outing was described as "romantic" by a TMZ source, and news of a Lopez-Cooper hookup would be both unexpected and sexy. But don't look for a save-the-date card soon: Others said it was all business, with the two talking about a possible project on which to collaborate, according to E! News.

Lopez, 42, is divorcing Marc Anthony, her husband of seven years, after their union imploded this summer. Cooper, 36, had a serious go at it a while back with Renee Zellweger, but that fizzled after a year ending in September 2010.

On screen or off, what would you think of Jennifer and Bradley as a couple? Tell us in comments.

'The Hangover 2': New York movie premiere gets the boys out to play

Bradley Cooper and the boys of 'The Hangover 2' party in New York
In the spirit of brotherhood and day-after solidarity, a host of men showed up in New York City for the Cinema Society's premiere screening of "The Hangover 2."

Cast members Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and director Todd Phillips turned up on the rooftop of NYC's Standard Hotel, attracting a bunch of like-minded dudes to catch the comedy, then party.

Hangover2 Patrick Wilson, James Van Der Beek, Zachary QuintoCrispin Glover, Russell Simmons, Calvin Klein with boyfriend Nick Gruber, actor-turned-director Dermot Mulroney, Zach Braff and designer Jason Wu came for the Bing-sponsored romp. (Click the photo of Bradley Cooper to launch a gallery of arrivals).

Ladies were well-accounted for, too, in the form of actresses Shenae Grimes and Gina Gershon, models Selita Ebanks, Alessandra Ambrosio and Hilary Rhoda as well as singer Ciara.

New York types like stylist and designer Patricia Field and fellow fashion guru Rachel Roy were accounted for, as was Ivanka Trump, ice skater Johnny Weir and "30 Rock" funnyman Scott Adsit.

'The Hangover 2': Robert Downey Jr., Diddy and more party with the stars

Bradley Cooper and Robert Downey Jr at The Hangover 2 premiere "The Hangover 2" was one morning after that celebrities and power players weren't complaining about a bit at the party following the movie's world premiere Thursday night in Hollywood.

Hollywood Boulevard had been shut down outside Grauman's Chinese Theater for the red-carpet premiere, which attracted "Hangover 2" stars including Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, and a predictably epic party kicked into gear.

A vacant lot just across the street was built out to model the Bangkok streets scandalized by the "Hangover" Wolfpack in the sequel.

Many a booze and Thai food station awaited the likes of Diddy, Robert Downey Jr. with wife Susan, and cast members Mike Tyson, Jamie Chung and Ken Jeong.

"Harry Potter" star Tom Felton held court at the Bing photo booth, posing with props beside a faux-tattoo station where Clippers star Blake Griffin contemplated some temporary ink.

Kristen Bell and Crystal the monkey Cute couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shephard mingled freely with snowboarder Shaun White, a pregnant Alyssa Milano and Rainn Wilson.

Director Todd Philips was the man to congratulate, with honchos like Steve Bing among the well-wishers plus stars Cooper, Helms and Downey Jr. flanking his table. Helms, arguably the film's lead, counted his mom as his date.

"Doesn't he look like a nice southern boy?" Mrs. Helms asked, nodding to her son's Brooks Brothers suit. (Ed is an Atlanta native.)

"This is all fun," a glowing Chung said when asked if her role as Helms' bride-to-be was overwhelming.

As Kanye West tunes blasted after midnight, boxer-turned-actor Tyson may have summed it up best as he departed: "Funny-ass movie."

"The Hangover 2" premiere: Ed Helms, Ken Jeong and Crystal the monkey

Bradley Cooper and Robert Downey Jr. at "The Hangover 2" premiere At "The Hangover 2" premiere, Crystal the capuchin monkey was the first celebrity to head down the carpet Thursday outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre, perched atop her trainer's shoulder and dressed in a Barbie-pink couture gown by Deb Scott with a smart string of pearls. Jumping around impishly, she was greeted with screams of, "Oh my God! Look! Too cute!"

That was pretty much the identical reaction that Bradley Cooper received when he first appeared on the carpet, only to leave it to run up and down Hollywood Boulevard -- there's a picture down below -- past a thick line of ecstatic fans.

Soon, and perhaps for different reasons, it was also the type of reaction that costars Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis got as they strode down the carpet alongside Mike Tyson, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong and franchise newcomers Mason Lee and Jamie Chung.

As Hollywood premieres go, this was a big one, with all of Hollywood Boulevard between the Roosevelt Hotel and Hollywood and Highland closed off for a carpet that ran half its length. It became impossible for bypassers to walk the street, and the stars arrived so late that most of them were rushed past half the press line to get into the theater at 8 p.m., already a half an hour past the planned start time.

Also spotted: Sean (Diddy) Combs, Alyssa Milano, Robert Downey Jr., Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell and Jordin Sparks.

With the leading men doling out plenty of bro-pats and hugs, jokes ricocheted around the boulevard. There was speculation about whether Crystal could beat up Po in "Kung Fu Panda 2" (this weekend's other big premiere), with Jeong saying he was placing his bets on the monkey.

"I'll take the monkey, man! Monkey, monkey, monkey!" he chanted.

Bradley Cooper runs past fans at "The Hangover 2" premiere There was also plenty of buzz about how "The Hangover 2" creators could possibly come up with a second part to a conceit that was based on the day after a substance-induced group blackout. Co-writer Craig Mazin said it was indeed a tough challenge.

"All we knew from the start was that we wanted to be in Bangkok," he said of the sequel, which picks up with the Wolfpack in that notoriously wild city for Doug's wedding, where a supposedly mellow pre-wedding brunch goes terribly awry.

"The thing about 'The Hangover' is that it's always about the day after," Mazin said, "so the first thing we had to figure out was if someone should be missing."

One thing not missing at the premiere? A powerful sense that Warner Bros. Pictures has another big summer hit on its hands.

"The Hangover 2" opens Thursday, ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher recruit 'real men' Justin Timberlake, Bradley Cooper, Isaiah Mustafa for PSAs

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have launched a flurry of PSAs featuring such A-listers as Justin Timberlake, Drake and Bradley Cooper to put an end to human trafficking and child sex slavery.

The DNA Foundation's Real Men Don't Buy Girls Campaign launched Monday and has been gathering steam. Kutcher kicked off the campaign with his "Real Men Do Their Own Laundry" video. Subsequently, Isaiah Mustafa, Jason Mraz, Adrian Peterson, Sean Penn and Jamie Foxx have each been featured in PSA videos. See all the real men (and the women who prefer them) here.

The philanthropic couple will appear on Piers Morgan’s show this week and have enabled supporters to their own “real men” videos too.

"Many people think of human trafficking as a problem in developing countries. The sad reality is that thousands of young girls have been forced into sex slavery and held against their will, right here in the 'land of the free,' " Moore and Kutcher said in a statement.

"After learning about this horrifying problem, we realized that we couldn't just go on with our daily lives, we had to do something about it. And we've enlisted government, law enforcement and nonprofit organization experts to help."

The couple recently traveled to Luxor, Egypt, to attend the International End Human Trafficking Now Forum. The also spoke at the launch of the United Nations Global Plan Against Trafficking in Persons and Victim's Trust Fund last November, working to provide "humanitarian, legal and financial aid to victims of trafficking."

Which "real man" is your favorite? Tell us in comments.

'The Hangover Part II' trailer: Ken Jeong invited to Ed Helms' bachelor party

"The Hangover Part II" trailer hit the interwebs this week, giving viewers a sampling of the plotline in the upcoming mysterio-comedy filmed largely in Thailand. The boys are back, which means trouble is not far behind.

The film's bachelor is Ed Helms' Stu, whose fiancee (Jamie Chung, not Heather Graham) asks him to take her little brother to enjoy the last-single-man-night festivities. And it's her brother who goes missing this time, not Doug (Justin Bartha), who is on hand for the mayhem along with Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ken Jeong (the infamous Mr. Chow of the first installment). Apparently, Jeong is Alan's (Galifianakis) plus-one in this adventure. A little monkey replaces the tiger and baby as the critter and cutie in the sequel.

For those concerned about the sequel living up to the original, you're not alone. Cooper is with you, and Helms says there won't be a three-quel.

Mike Tyson and Liam Neeson will also appear in the Todd Phillips film, which hits theaters May 26.
