Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt cast in 'The Dark Knight Rises'

'Inception's' Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt cast in 'The Dark Knight Rises'

This post has been corrected. Please see the note below for details.

"The Dark Knight Rises" — or what might be called "Inception" lite — has found itself a boardwoman and a cop in Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The actors who previously teamed with "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan are joining him again for the newest Batman film — the final chapter in the trilogy.

Cotillard, who won the lead actress Oscar in 2007 for "La Vie en Rose," will play Miranda Tate, a member of the Wayne Enterprises board. Tate is "eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham," according to Variety.

Gordon-Levitt will join Gotham City's rank-and-file police force as John Blake, "a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon." He was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2009 for his starring role in "(500) Days of Summer."

Natalie Portman likes Ashton Kutcher's parenting skills

Natalie Portman No Strings Attached Natalie Portman says she'd take parenting advice from "No Strings Attached" costar Ashton Kutcher.

The newly knocked-up actress told MTV News that Kutcher would come to their movie set with sweet stories about advice he gave his stepdaughters, which showed her that he was a committed parent to Demi Moore's kids.

Did we mention that everyone's all up in Portman's business these days?

Recently engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millepied, she oh-so-ungraciously included mention of their sex life in her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

The once-private starlet is basking in the limelight thanks to critical acclaim for playing a psycho-ballerina in "Black Swan." Honestly, we think awards should go to the actors who take on roles where they have to naturally pack on the pounds, then shed them by award season. Hear that, George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal and Matt Damon?

Pounds or no pounds, she's likely getting more awards if "Strings" doesn't ruin her chances, as "Norbit" did for Eddie Murphy. Her laugh has also taken on a life of its own.

"The weird thing is people knowing about something that's so private," she told MTV about her pregnancy. "But I mean, you get used to it. It's just wild to walk down the street and have a complete stranger be like, 'Congratulations!'"

Stars galore at the 2010 Academy Awards Governors Ball

Bridges puck "How can the governor have a ball? California's out of money, isn't it?" We definitely heard that crack more than once Sunday at the Academy Awards.

No, sillies, it wasn't Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's ball -- rather, it was the official after-party presented annually by the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. And this Sunday night the 1,500-capacity ballroom, glowing in gentle purple tones, was packed. Definitely a larger turnout than last year, event staff said.

It was good to be Jeff Bridges: Once the best actor winner made it into the party, flashes were popping like mad as he clapped chef Wolfgang Puck on the back and they both smiled broadly for the cameras, talking all the while.

When Bridges was whisked away for more interviews -- glass of water in his hand, though he'd been sipping Champagne during his victory interview backstage -- a pack of photographers floated along in his wake like a train on a diva's gown. He appeared to be enjoying the ocean of congratulations -- can you blame him? -- and was spotted later, out of the crush ...

Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Fergie and friends light up New York's 'Nine' premiere

"Nine" cast

Nicole Kidman, Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard, Fergie and Judi Dench all hit the red carpet Tuesday night for the rollout of "Nine" in New York -- resulting in a virtual fame explosion at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

Now if only some stars would help promote the movie musical.

No film this year has a celeb-packed ensemble like Rob Marshall's new one does -- and nary a lunch, photo call or premiere (including the Dec. 9 event in L.A.) has taken place without obscenely A-list attendance from the "Nine" cast. The arrival photos are below, but even more delicious Tuesday night in New York were ...
